Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 The Game

Where's Curt Hawkins? You cant have Vance Archer if you havent Hawkins. The Great Khali isnt in the game. Why? I dont like this years rtwm well only one thats Christians with the Edge being whc and christian wwe champion. And i read earlier that someone complaint about if you fall of a ladder you will lay there for like 5 minutes but if someone else falls down they get up after 5 seconds, and i agree it's not fun when that happen but i tried something, if you dont go up the ladder they will stay down but when you're climbing the ladder they get up immidiatley... I like the game though but wasnt to happy with rtwm free roam mode... you only get answere like "beat it" or that you'll have to leave.

I give it a 7/10

I have a question how do you get to fight Terry Funk in Rey's RTWM? I have beat on Evan Bourne for 45 min n still end up getting DQed

I'm getting used to the controls, no complaints there, pretty good improvements. The difficulty has been raised a bit but I still have the occasional match where I destroy the computer on legend. Also I kind of wish they didn't let you allot your own attribute points and just kept what they had last year. If I want to improve my character make me work for it, don't just give it to me. That's just nitpicking, I know.

I, for one, TOTALLY disagree with that statement.

What if you want to create an accurate Kurt Angle, Owen Hart, Eddie G, etc.?

I feel like the STUUUUPID "Career Mode", where you have to PAINFULLY build up your CAW sucked the LIFE out of any fun in the game!

So, in other words, on this one MAJOR improvement, I'm going to be picking this game up when I get back home.

I'll deal with the other issues later on, but I'm the type of person that doesn't really have the time to waddle through stat boosting my character and would rather have it open to begin with.

looks to be another year where the CAW function once again suffers, in the moveset section now you only have one dashing move. By the look of the moves for a few of the superstars they are doing the same move in all four directions of the grapple, wtf?

Think i'll continue building my 80s Caw on 2006 Smackdown vs Raw

This game is pretty fun. But I wish there was a separate MY WWE Mode for Universe sand Exhibition. Because when I'm in exhibition I want to use the SES or something and they don't exist anymore. I also wish that I can cash in MiTB. I won it at Wrestlemania and I;m having troubles cashing it in can someone help. I also wish there was 2 dashing strikes.

Just seems weird that this has been changed. How hard is it to give us a move for different directions of the running grapple?!!?

This sucks as I usually give my CAW a clothesline and a spinning wheel kick as a running strike, and a running DDT and a spear as a running grapple. So, after all the new moves they have added this year (e.g. the turnbuckle grapples), they have to even it out by taking some away.

Thanks THQ

The rules of the Royal Rumble state, that once you go over the top rope, and your feet touch the ground, you are eliminated. We've seen superstars in the past, Edge to be specific, take this rule to advantage. Rolling outside the ring, and grabbing steel chairs, and other such weapons.

This feature would be exciting, and a tad bit more realistic in Royal Rumbles. Although we don't see this as often, the Smackdown vs Raw series seems to mimmick past tendencies from the WWE. Who knows, maybe we'll see The Rated R Superstar do this in the 2011 Royal Rumble.

Now Obviously, the Royal Rumble would become pointless in Online modes, if the play could simply role out side the ring, and stay there the entire match, but the last two Smackdown vs Raw's have had an option, where if you beat other superstars hard enough, or if you find yourself piling on lots of eliminations, you get a finisher. This finisher is an automatic elimination to anyone on, or near the ropes (that is, if the finisher is not reversed)

Instead of having the abilities, such as Leverage pin, and the old referee shield separate, they could completely revamp the modes, and offer packages. Maybe high flyer package, a powerhouse package, but what I'm getting at, is the heel/dirty moves package. Complete with all the eye pokes, rope pins, and referee shields. If your superstar (such as Edge) has this ability, they can say..get enough momentum, press triangle, and have it go into the automated cut-scene type feature. Have the superstar, say bang the opponents head against a turn buckle, and the proceed to role under the ropes, take a steel chair out from under the ring, and then slide back into the ring.

It doesn't have to go down exactly like that, THQ could do it anyway they want, they don't even need the whole new idea of the revamped abilities, but I feel this would be a cool new feature in the Royal Rumble mode, that can help show more realistic characteristics for Dirty characters.

Here's an Idea. Go back to the drawing board. Look, I love my wrestling games, I do. That being said I hardly feel like its worth the $60 anymore. Every wrestling game since the release of Just bring it feels essentially the same only now the graphics are super shinny! Sure they add a little more with each installment to expand the game play a bit.

But I'm tired of buying wrestling games year after year only to have that nostalgic effect "hmm This feels awfully familiar" I still enjoy them thought. I got back and play 2010 often. But after reading reviews for 2011, It wasent enough for me to go out and purchase it, because I knew I would be getting roughly the game game just different here and there. There just to similar to keep playing and trying to get interested in when I could go back to the previous years title, play that and know that not much as changed. I hate yearly installment to games, they just don't change enough to call it a new experience.

Maybe if it was two years you know? But 2010 will be the last wrestling game I buy until they seriously change something up. Hell, thats the problem with most games these days. Why change something if it sells?

No here comes the heat for my post.

I found myself disappointed with SvR 2011. They made changes to the control scheme that I felt didn't need it. WWE Universe mode got really old fast. I don't like having my guy make a heel turn without me choosing to do so. Road to Wrestlemania is a good idea gone wrong. I mean, I don't want to play as any of the guys. I want to use my created wrestler for it and this one doesn't even have one for it. I miss the old days with the Smackdown games where there was one career mode and you could use anyone including your create-a-wrestler. This game is a step down from the last one. And the double team moves seem to get less and less. How can you have a double team move list without the Doomsday Device? Somebody answer that for me. The create-a-finisher still needs work and the corner moves one seemed off to me. HOw many times can you do a DDT or Hurricarana off the top? They need to have create-a-finisher for submissions and double team moves or even running moves. I'm not sure if any of this has been mentioned or not, but I'm just saying this game was a step backwards from the last one.

Actually, I agree with you. I was looking forward to this game but found myself thankful I didn't. They're not even trying anymore. That's the problem. It's cool to add new stuff but make sure they fix the problems with previous ones.

Seriously, it's a sports game... You guys are out here acting like it's the next installment of Halo or Call of Duty... Sports games have always been known to make slow advances to updating previous parts of the games, so just calm down and quit whining. This year's game is very great to play and the stuff in this game is rather interesting. Sure there are somethings that carried over from last year's, but DUH! it's an annually released video game that people keep begging for year after year.

It's not exactly the easiest thing to rewrite programmings year in and year out people, no matter how many people you have on the project. I mean people are dogging THQ every year with this crap, and it's really starting to get ******ed. Halo, Gears, COD, GTA, Saints Row and other games like that take 2-4 years before the next installment comes out so it's obvious that they have far more time to work on it. Smackdown, for the time they have, turns out great each and every year and each year I'll continue to buy it.

Dude, chill lol. Last time I checked we lived in a free country so Im in my full right to execute my rights to free speech. Im not whining. I'm merely addressing the problems I have with the series. I do respect you opinion but in my opinion I find its not enough for me to keep investing $60 dollars year in and year out for the same basic game. For those of you who enjoy it then good for you. Plus I dont see people begging for it, Last time I checked, wwe signed a 10 year contract with THQ to make these games. I'm also beginning to think people just buy these games out of habit. I use to, I didn't care. I just wanted the next installment because it had the new feature everybody was talking about, or the new mode maybe that new superstar that wasn't in any previous games. After playing these games for over 10 years I find that not much has actually changed and there starting to get boring, I just can't find myself getting excited anymore. This is what happens to games that are released annually.

Why buy this game when I know the next installment is just going to be "better"? or the one after that might have an even better feature that improved on the same feature in the game before it. Maybe I should save my money for that one? Its like watching a movie, then watching the same movie with a different ending, well its still the same movie just with a twist, hardly new at all. I don't buy into these yearly updates anymore. I like to save my money for the good games, the ones people actually put time into.

Again, this is just how I feel. As I've said earlier. For those of you who enjoy it then I'm not going to point a finger at you and call you sheep. I understand all of use after different tastes in a lot of things. But for me its simply no longer enough.

I think the game was pretty good. I haven't bought one since 2009 but do enjoy renting them and playing them for a week when new ones come out in October.

I think the last 2 years have been great improvements to game play. I may purchase in time when the price comes down...

As for the dude who said "We have a right to free speech~Insert rant here" Its the internet, you have no rights here, or millions would be sued everyday.

Moving forward, i find SVR 2011 is way too similarr to SVR2010. Not saying i don't like it, but it looks same old same old.

You CAN live on 2010 and for the PSP users, 2009! Just do it like i do, and forget 11. If it was up to me, THQ would announce this:

"Dear Users,

The next SVR game is not until 2014, giving us time to perfect it. Good day sirs"

lol what? I use the internet so therefore I have no rights? Just because I use the internet doesn't mean I don't have any rights..BY your statement I could easily say I watch T.V therefore I have no rights. Your wrong people are sued all the time. The illegal download of music, copyright issues, pirating. Along with so many other reasons. I'm sorry but that comment made me laugh. Off topic.

I do agree that it would be nice if the game wasn't annually, However 4 years might be to long to wait for a wrestling game lol. I think two years would be enough. We'll see what next years installment has to offer. My guess is it wont be much different at all.

I didn't mean the freedom of speech thing. I meant, You have less rights on the internet. If you come on here cussing us out, like you might in real life, your going to get banned. If you come on here demanding you have the right to vote on WWE's Decision, your just plain wrong.

Back on topic,
2 years would be enough. Some cool things might include Superstar Relationships, including A diva-superstar romance like in HCTP.

Yes because wrestling fans don't get classed as virgins as it is. What the hell would you want a relationship part of a wrestling game for?

I actually love this SVR, This one would have to be the best one I have played. Except not enough moves I have no problem with this game at all. and if they manage to improve on next years then good for us, if not and it's still the same as this years jut updated roster I will still be getting it.

Actually, I was hoping to add the spark of realisticness to the game, which i feel that it lacks. I mean, i can only play the same Story so many times before i get bored. I'd love to personally make an open world WWE, where talking to people, Getting in relationships, and picking fights affects the story line. Although you can pick fights in the new one, they have no effect on the story what so ever besides someone interfereing later. Which is a waste of energy.

I just played NOC in WWE Universe and the game chose Yoshi Tatsu v Ezekiel Jackson as the Main Event and wasn't even for a title. The WWE Title didn't even get defended!

Epic Fail!

And that was after Raw's ME was HBK v CM Punk 4 weeks in a row! Not one of those 4 matches was a #1 contenders match.

Epic Fail!

And I won an #1 contenders match for the WHC as Rey Mysterio against Edge the SD before the PPV, only to end up wrestling a Championship Scramble featuring Taker, Swagger, Rey, Edge and the Champion Kane. Most of the whole month the SD ME had been Rey v Kane v Edge, Swagger had literally one match against Christian, and Taker kept facing my created character, so i pretty much buried Taker in terms of wins/losses and he still got a freakin' title shot!

Epic fail!

And Sheamus is my WWE Champion, yet the game keeps putting him in #1 contender matches for the US title.

Epic Fail!

And this year's game is just soooooooooo easy. I've turned the difficulty up to Legendary and am still winning matches in like 30 seconds.

Plus i hit a finisher when someone's come out to distract the ref, and i can literally have them do their 3 distractions before they're ejected one after the other and still get a 3 count!

EPIC FAIL!

Just out of interest, what's the highest number of falls someone's gotten in a 15 minute Iron Man Match? Mine's something like 14, averaging just under 1 a minute.
