Scared of the "Black" Wrestler?

Even if there was racism within the WWE, Vince McMahon is a business man before anything else and the product he is selling is the WWE.. if he saw enough talent in sombody to push them all the way to the top and make money of off... then I am sure he does not care what colour that person happens to be..aslong as they are selling merch and making him and his company loads of money.

Well they would have to get the chance to show what they could do first right? Its kinda hard to tell if someone has talent if theyre always losing all of their matches. Especially for over a year. Hopefully they give Rtruth more opportunities to atleast evaluate him. Maybe this is an evaluation. We all know they arent gonna let him win. They just needs somebody to take the pinfall instead of Super Cena. But hopefully this could lead to better things for R-truth

I seriously do not think R Truth has what it takes to be the top guy in the WWE even for a short run. If The Miz was going to lose the belt at Extreme Rules then I would rather it be to R Truth than Cena but first of all I hope the Miz doesn't lose(I'm sure he wont) and secondly even I can see that Cena who I can't stand... as more main event credibility than R Truth. It's nothing to do with race or colour. I could say the same about Morrison, Kofi, Masters even Dibiase Jr... none of them in my opinion have what it takes right now to be the top dog in the WWE. You could argue that R Truth hasn't been given the chance so he hasn't proved himself if you like but I see it as the other way around..he hasn't proved himself to be given a chance. He is mediocre and that goes for a lot of black wrestlers on the current WWE roster. I would however like to see Ezekiel Jackson get a manager to do his mic work and maybe get an opportunity for a big push somewhere down the line.

I'm not sure WWE is afraid of black wrestlers. Although, I find their use of many black performers to be pretty deplorable. They give them stupid characters to work with, limit their in-ring work, give them stunted pushes and then they release them with some nonsense about they couldn't figure out how to use them. I mean I'm glad R-Truth gets a main event match, although I believe Morrison would have been a better choice. A triple threat with Miz and Cena doesn't give me much hope he'll get much of an opportunity to showcase his abilities. To see guys like an MVP, Burke, Carlito being released, when they can talk, could generate heat/fan support and can work a match, and other guys who are there, get simplistic characters and very little control over how they work in the ring and they're not fairing much better, leads me to believe Vince is not confident in trying anything meaningful with them. With Edge gone, and the main event struggling to impress the audience, he might be forced to try and see what he can do with more of his performers black or not.

Very good post. The first time they released R-truth he said they told him they didnt have anything for him and had no other reasons. He went to TNA and became a draw and a 2 time world heavyweight champion. Shelton said they told him the same exact thing. He also claim they wanted him to be more street and he felt like that wasnt him because he had a college education. I agree with you about the other guys as well that werent pushed. Youre right about Vince. Whenever his veterans arent in a match with the present talent like Cena and a few others the matches are just simply horrible. The Miz vs Cena was God awful.

Out of all the wrestlers who came over from WCW during the invasion angle Booker T seems to have gained the most in the WWE.

To the poster that said why is Ezekiel Jackson the only member of The Corre (Why the second r?) that doesn't have a title? Let me explain this to you, Gabriel and Slater were already a tag-team in the original Nexus on Raw and won the championships while they were in that group. Wade Barrett wasn't ready yet to get a world heavyweight championship run, so they gave him the intercontinental championship instead. Yes they could have given the intercontinental belt to Big Zeke instead, but like i said Wade Barrett wasn't ready to have the WHC belt yet so... and by the way only the tag-team and diva betls are brand interchangeable.

Anyways, maybe WWE does discriminate against black wrestlers, but then again its up to those wrestlers to show management that they want to be at the top. If they do what Cena and The Miz do i.e all media appearances etc etc. they will get the push, if they don't do that why would Vince push them?
