Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

Yes. Yes it is.

I've named Changeling as my movie of the year. How do you like them apples?

Edit: Never mind, NCFOM was released in 2008 over here.

NCFOM, is a 2008 film for all us English. So is TWBB.

And yeah, Iron Man is probably more entertaining than TDK.

I had fun playing "Oooh, that's like No Country For Old Men!" with Blood Simple. I appreciate that should be the other way round, but still.

Edit: I also played "So that's the guy from The Big Lebowski?"

Edit 2: It's amazing how many Coen films I haven't seen, isn't it? And I pretend to know shit.

Fincher makes a guest appearance in the first episode of Dirt.

This is also who I'd cast as The Riddler.

Brilliant. I love it. Everyone knows Nolan can't cast for shit though - Heath Ledger as the Joker? Christian Bale as Batman? Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox? Michael Caine as Alfred? Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes? The only one he got right was Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon.

I'm thinking of making an Anton Chigurgh vs. The Joker thread. My argument will centre around the fact that the Joker is dead, so could not possibly stand a chance.

I'd have cast somebody who didn't cost as much as Heath Ledger, because it just makes sense. You can't really tell it's him, so hire somebody from the OC.

True story, I expeted the Joker to sound and have mannerisms exactly like that.

Expected him to be like what he was like? I wasn't particularly surprised either. Except for the five minutes when it seemed like he was from Tennessee.

Second or third trailer. It sounded like he had an accent. I say it was a Tennessee accent but I have no idea what one sounds like. I'm just assuming that's what he had.

I assume a Tennessee accent would be a redneck accent. If so, I never heard it.

So, I went to the cinema on Wednesday and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a preview. It made me think of you. Looks very good.

I have nothing to post in here Sam. So I'll give you my budget Batman cast.

The Joker: Christopher Eccleston
The Penguin: Timothy Spall
The Riddler: Walton Goggins.

That is all I have so far.

I the last three day's, I've purchased:

- Scurbs series 2, 3, And 6.
- Friends series 1 to 10 boxset.
- Die hard 1 to 4.
- Lock, Stock, And two smoking barrels.
- Snatch.
- Batman Begins.
- The green mile
- Little Nicky.
- the little man.
- Tenacious D and the pink of destiny.
- Black sheep.

And i'm after Get Smart, The Steve Carell spy film.

Your thoughts Sam?

I the last three day's, I've purchased:

- Scurbs series 2, 3, And 6.

I've got those too. Quite good, though I think Scrubs is a little overrated.

- Friends series 1 to 10 boxset.

Had this for years. No idea why.

- Die hard 1 to 4.

OK, I guess. The first is the only one I particularly enjoy.

- Lock, Stock, And two smoking barrels.

Not as good as Snatch.

- Snatch.

Better than Lock Stock.

- Batman Begins.

As good as The Dark Knight.

- The green mile

Tom Hanks gets his package grabbed. Brilliant.

- Little Nicky.
- the little man.

What?

- Tenacious D and the pink of destiny.

Jack Black can't act. 'Tis a fact.

- Black sheep.

Best on the list, IMO.

And i'm after Get Smart, The Steve Carell spy film.

I hear The Rock steals the show. Can't be as good as The Game Plan.

I finally gave in and got The Simpsons Series 10. Reading the episode list, I regret it. Also, Ghostbusters and Miller's Crossing.

Little nicky is an Adam Sandler movie, He's the son of the devil.

The little man is the Wayne brothers from Scary Movie, One of them is a midget jewel thief, and pretends to be a baby.

I watched Black Sheep, And Batman Begins yesterday, I laughed through about 90% of Black Sheep, And Batman Begins is REALLY good, It's easier to understand The Dark Knight now, Liam Neeson, Was just great in that film. I reckon The Scarecrow should get a bigger role in B3, He is a great villian and really underused.
