Incredibly, This is the End doesn't keep the five star streak alive. If you liked Tropic Thunder - and you somehow escaped the death camps I set up for people like you - then you'll like This is the End. Two genuinely funny scenes in the entire film. Otherwise, the material is pretty much, "Aren't penises and weed funny? Here's a montage with bombastic music - that's also funny." A really brutal edit could have gotten it another star - so much weak material.

Still, gimp reveal of the year so far.

Disappointment of the year so far. I paid to see robots punch monsters in the face - there's about fifteen minutes of that; the rest is talky talky convoluted bollocks. It's not unentertaining but it's not quite robots punching monsters in the face. There's only really one proper fight scene in the entire fucking film! And it's not even at the end!

Still, I bet they were a hell of a fifteen minutes. I'm seeing it tomorrow. I'll also be seeing Monsters University (get in before the kids finish school so I can see it in peace) and I'm seeing The Cornetto Trilogy on Thursday evening. The World's End starts at midnight, I'll be long asleep by then.

Thursday evening? And I thought I was going to be seeing it nice and early by taking work off on Friday!

And yes, it is a fucking tremendous fifteen minutes.

Update on Cena/Bryan SummerSlam Plans
According to F4WOnline.com, the current plan in WWE is still to have John Cena face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title at SummerSlam this year.

According to the report, the storyline will tie in with "Total Divas," and will use the real life relationships that Cena and Bryan have with The Bella Twins. At this point, the story line is not expected to begin until a week or two after "Total Divas" debuts.

Before you get too disappointed, remember that suicide by acid bath is always an option on the table.

I managed to get the gist of Despicable Me 2 despite not paying attention and skipping the first one.

Pacifc Rim just wasn't very good, was it.

At least I can finally have some red stars when I see Shaun Of The Dead. Unless I'm indifferent to that now as well.

I don't remember being impressed with Hot Fuzz that one time I watched it. I do like Shaun Of The Dead though. Doesn't make me laugh, but I like it.

Personally, I found Shaun of the Dead rather meh. Same with Hot Fuzz.

You could have just insulted me, or my friends, or my mother - but no, you had to go and take it too far.

At least, I assume, you adore Scott Pilgrim versus The World.

It's a little bit too arty for its own good - there's a five star movie underneath, being smothered by pretentious five minute montages and general abstract fucking around. Definitely worth a watch though.

Injustice: Gods Among us

Infinitely better story and ending than Askham Asylum and Ark City. Ark City came close, but the end felt so abrupt and unsatisfying.

How fucking badaaaassss was Robin though.

Isn't Injustice a traditional fighting game? And if that's the case, doesn't that by default mean that it's about two decades too late to be any good?

The movie/story/cutscenes associated wth it. Like fuck if I know if the gameplay is any good (though it looked cool) I simply mean the game as in the story. Like that game-movie I posted in your thread the other day.

Got ya. I suppose evil Superman is a more fearsome villain than Joker, even if he is all roided out.

I still haven't finished Arkham City yet, so I'm not sure if Joker is the real baddie here or if it's Dr. Weird, or whatever his name is.

It was more how cool all the alt universe versions were, and how everyone was portrayed and fleshed out.

I just got done watching A-City....Woud you like spoilers? lulz

I've never known anyone to just watch the cutscenes from the game. In fact, had I ever considered it a possibility, I would have thought Jake would be the first to do it.

I usually see the cut-scenes as an opportunity to put some toast under the grill.

The whole trilogy over a few hours was a chore. They turned off the air-con, presumably so everybody there could experience their own Summer of '72 in New York. I hear it was really fucking hot so people went the cinema and stuff.
