Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

Hey, what goes on in here...

Hicks the best character in Aliens? Come on, Sam. The best non-Ripley character is Hudson (smart enough to voice how terrified he is so people know not to rely on him) followed by Vasquez and then Apone.

He doesn't die in Aliens either does he. He dies at the beginning of Alien 3. He get's speared during the crash landing.

I meant Hudson, didn't I? I really think I should get checked for dementia or a tumour or something. But now I think about, it is Hicks. Maybe.

I've never liked a film so much and had so much about it that I hated. Well, maybe The Dark Knight. That final 45 minutes still get's on my nerves.

Yeah, I'd say so overall. It's from his POV so you don't see much of him and his voice works well. The only time he really fails is when he's forced to be animated.

Haha I saw a brazzers video and she said she bought her clothes from primark.

Who buys whose clothes from Primark? Are we calling me a "she" now?

And I know the difference between Hicks and Hudson - it was just escaped me for a few moments is all.

Will try and see Welcome to the Punch at one cinema, for some reason, and then a quadruple bill of Oz, The Croods, Compliance and The Spirit of '45 at another if I can summon the energy. The list is all that matters. Oh, and I might try to track down Maniac at some point. They were showing it in Stoke?

I know, right!

Going to double-bill all next week. Welcome To The Punk, Oz, umm, whatever else is on that I haven't seen.

Just finished watching Rain Man for the first time and also watched A Few Good Men for the first time last night too. Late 80s/early 90s Tom Cruise wasn't too bad. Still not seen Top Gun though, is it worth viewing to round off my Cruise hat-trick?

Also, my system of packing things today has essentially turned into binning a shit load of old film magazines and broken appliances.

I'd accuse Welcome to the Punch of being written by a twelve-year-old, only it's so needlessly convoluted. Creevy's obviously got a knack for the shooty shooty bang bang stuff, so why not tailor the script to that, rather than making what's really just a rather wooden cop thriller? A couple of good set pieces aside, it feels like something which could be on ITV on a Wednesday evening. It's beneath Martin Clunes.

One win & two draws all year, Sam. Wouldn't happen if we still had Fuller!

But-- but you've won six at home. I don't understand. And Fuller's not that good. You and Chris Powell seem to have an inflated opinion of him.

Oh, right, Top Gun, I should finish watching that.

My dozens of issues of Empire will be worth something one day, damn it!

Fuller was good. I just like to maintain that age hasn't got the better of him and he could still have been an asset to Stoke.

Top Gun is a 3 star film/5 star 80's film if I've ever seen one.
