Romney Disses California

I was more saying whats wrong with the comment in general.
I don't think the poster was saying there's anything wrong with the comment in general, just that Romney doesn't seem to share that same enthusiasm he once did.

That was my impression.

I think it's the is there even a difference part of the picture that is throwing me. If that wasn't there I might be more inclined to agree.

Good. Plenty to dislike about california. It's the breakfast cereal state. Full of fruits, nuts, and flakes.

Seriously, if California is so great why has it accumulated more debt than most countries? Oh maybe because having nearly 50% of your population be so worthless that they need the other 50% to pay for them to live. Eliminate social spending and wealth redistribution and suddenly it's solvent again.

Because Arnold Schwarzenegger was their governor?

Yes, we call those people "senior citizens", or "people on pension after decades of work".

You call them worthless, we call them senior citizens. Potato, potato (that works better when you can pronounce the word "potato" differently).

Eliminate social spending and wealth redistribution and suddenly it's solvent again.
God, you are so right, and it's so simple! Why didn't all of those people who work with the budget for hours on end every day think of that?

Maybe because you seem to know jack shit on what you're talking about?

I was more saying whats wrong with the comment in general. The Republican party platform however doesn't always match the views of every member, same for the Democrats. On the surface the comment seems fine, so do a few of them. Mad's one with Mr. Burns was better.

Oh... dear lord. Tell me you're not seriously that impervious to irony.

No, I'm talking about completely eliminating welfare, food stamps, section 8, WIC, TAMF, and all the other programs designed to take money from wage earners and give it to people who won't work.

Getting rid of public transportation would also free quite a bit of money up to be used on things that actually matter like infrastructure. What about removing free education and in state tuition for illegals? What about removing the failed idea of public education and it's bloated budget? Why not bust the public sector unions and force public workers to work for the same wages as those in the private sector?

Why not take these steps so you can lower the tax rates and not have profitable businesses decide to move across the border into Nevada to avoid the confiscatory task rate? Oh and getting rid of all the bs CEPA regulations that make major industry hesitant to invest in the state?

Why not go the route Denver and Washington are and legalize marijuana? Not only could it add several billion dollars to the coffers through taxing it, it would also cut the amount of people in jail and prison and thus save money.

Wow, it's like Fox News is speaking directly to me. Strange, but in that whole "you don't know jack shit on what you're talking about" kind of way.

I'm sorry, Fox News, you lost me here. I was not expecting this to come out of your mouth, though it's my experience that those who want drugs legalized do so for selfish reasons. And we won't even get into the whole State vs. Federal issue that would cause the largest hangup to your plan.

Are you serious? You're really suggesting eliminating public transportation and education? How does this idea citizens that actually rely on it?

Correction: how would this affect the citizens that rely on this? Granted that in regards to welfare there are some that just refuse to better themselves and just try to depend on government assistance to get by throughout their lives. But what you're suggesting affects a large number of people, primarily in lower income communities. Not everyone can afford to put their children in private schools, or maybe even afford their own vehicle.
