To celebrate his historic win, new TNA IMPACT WRESTLING World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode traveled to Australia this week. In addition to several media appearances, Roode also hosted a huge Fan Party on Saturday night in Sydney. TNA IMPACT WRESTLING would like to thank all of our fans in Australia who came to the party to meet the new World Champion! Don't forget to watch IMPACT WRESTLING every Saturday night on FuelTV, and thanks for your continued support! The photos below include:

- An appearance on FOX Sports News
- Fireworks over the Sydney Harbour for the new Champion
- The Champ talks to students at the PWA wrestling school in Sydney
- Several interview with Australia media at famous Bondi Beach
- Roode at Bondi Beach, thanks to all the guys at "Let's Go Surf!"
- The World Champ at Taronga Zoo in Sydney
- Roode's arrival for the Fan Party in Sydney at the Hard Rock

Looks like Roode is already making public appearances after beating James Storm for the title. A full promotional tour of Australia. Sure, it's not the U.S. or U.K., but the TNA World Champion seemed to make quite the trip over there. Note that this isn't Hulk Hogan or Kurt Angle. It's Robert Roode. Yeah, he's technically a heel, but don't let that take away from the fact that he's doing promotional work instead of the older names. Yet another sign of TNA placing it's confidence on it's homegrown talent.

That is one cute Koala too.

There's no question here, but I will say it's pretty good for TNA to put Roode out like that promoting not only the promotion, but himself as well. I hope he gets a good run with the championship and successfully establishes himself as a permanent main-eventer.

Shame it got no coverage here in Sydney. Not a word during last week's Impact on Fuel TV that he was coming out. We know weeks in advance when anyone from WWE is coming here, and it usually makes the mainstream news. The Miz's appearances were everywhere. I guess that's why TNA will always be #2. Shame, coz Impact has been better than Raw/Smackdown the last month or so.

Im one of the wrestling trainee's that he spoke to at PWA Australia wrestling promotion, he's personally a very old school guy, told some stories to us and critqued some training matches. Roode is all round a nice guy.

This is a great sign. Roode is the TNA World Champion, and technically the face of the federation. Doing these types of appearances to help promote their product is exactly what he needs to be doing. As the world champion he is the most important person for them to have out there making appearances. It's a sign that TNA have placed a large amount of trust in him as a top guy because otherwise it would be someone like Hogan or Sting out there promoting the product. The more things like this that he does, the better. It will help improve not only the product but also his own image as a star.

TNA is HUGE down here. Id say its even starting to rival WWE for its fan base now (even on its shitty arse fucking channel), so this really is a good move.

Im just disappointed the TNA Australia facebook page was advertising "World Champ Robert Roode" the week before he won the fucking title.

Back when WWE first got their hands into Australia they used Rove. He was a wrestling fan and had a massive audience (for those who are unfamilar with Rove, its like David Letterman or Conan or something of that sort).

Theres no programs like that anymore. So they really dont have that easy in. Even when Miz was down last time, he was slumming it on the second rate channels.
