Real story behind Brock Lesnar's encounter with a female fan at an airport

Reflection

is a happier and wiser man
A few days ago, a video was posted on WrestleZone and other wrestling news sites, of what seemed like Brock Lesnar supposedly giving a female fan a cold shoulder. The following is what the lady's husband (who was filming the video) explained about the incident:

"Saori went up to Brock and ask if he was Brock Lesnar... Brock first didn't hear her until Sable said to Brock" I think she is talking to you", then Brock turn around and looked at Saori and asked "How are you?", Saori said fine and she ask him"Are you Brock Lesnar?" He said "Yes" and then she ask "Can i take a picture with you?" And he said "No, not today", Saori then said thank you and walked away ... .. I told Saori it was ok ... No worries .. -It was still cool to see him and see my wife talk to Brock."

In contrast to what most of us thought, Brock Lesnar seemed to have gone relatively easy on the fan (which is a good thing, of course). The fan too should be praised for approaching in a very respectful manner.

Here is another incident, this one more recent. This fan didn't get addressed to so kindly though. :D Here's his story:

"On the beach here in Florida and I was taking a picture of the beach and all of a sudden I hear some guy yell "HEY NO FUCKING PICTURES" and I look and
see Brock Lesnar. I didn't even know he was there and I wasn't even taking a picture of him! Pretty jerkish thing to say. Oh well still pretty cool to see him. After he waled by I took a picture, I have it right here but I'm not sure how to upload it. If anyone can tell me how to I will upload it immediately."

These are a few arguments coming from wrestling fans:
-He does not owe anyone an autograph or photo. He has every right to refuse.
-He gets paid so much for only a few days work. What's the big deal in posing with a few fans here and there?
-At least he replied normally. Someone like CM Punk would call her a bitch and ask her to fuck off.
-Wrestling fans should not even approach wrestlers when they are with family, and ask for photos. Its very intrusive.
What do you think?

I tend to agree. Although I don't blame fans who do ask I find it a bit classless. They work hard, probably don't get a ton of time wih their family (even in cases like Lesnar who is working part time for WWE) and most likely want to be left alone. Its their prerogative if they want to sign autographs or not and fans should respect that. At the same time though if a fan asks and the wrestler acts like a dick in response then the fan has every right to be pissed, theres nothing wrong with a wrestler declining as long as its in a respectful manner (initially that is, if the fans a pushy douche then by all means tear them a new one).

I have always felt this way too. Even if they were by themselves, I still wouldn't go up to them. If I were them, I would be a bit annoyed too.

It's kind of like having an injury, after the 3rd time of telling the story of how you got it, you are sick of getting asked about it. I assume after the 8 hundredth fan comes up to you, you might start to be a little less PC.

Fans - Might the one chance they have for such an encounter. It only takes less than a minute so why these famous people are being dicks about this.

Famous people -If they accept one request they have to take ALL requests at the spot. Soon what is only being held up for 1 minute can balloon to 15mins or constant interruptions for whatever they are doing.

Firstworldproblems eh?

As someone who has read Brock's book, he fucking hates public attention. Like really, really hates it. He says he knows why people want his autograph and if they ask politely and he's in the mood he'll give them one, but he'd prefer not to be bothered no matter what he's doing, which is why he lives in a small town where most people know him, so he doesn't get badgered at all.

Is his book any good?

I love Heyman's story about how Brock barely has a telephone. They have to setup times to call so Brock can get to the one phone he has.

If someone is with their family or eating or something I see no reason why that person shouldn't be able to refuse a picture or autograph. People should learn to be respectful in situations like that.

I'm pretty sure I've told all my stories about meeting wrestlers and why I liked them or didn't like them so I won't post them again. It isn't really a long list though. I haven't met very many.

If the wrestler is at an autograph signing which is totally different than seeing them in public I expect them to be friendly or at least acknowledge the people paying to see them.

The first report is fine. Brock was cool. If he doesn't want to take a picture, that's his choice, but he still asked her how she was.

The second report comes from an asshole who took a picture of Lesnar anyway and tried to put it online. Yeah, Lesnar probably overreacted, but fuck that guy who took the picture..

Also, CM Punk has said he acts fine if the person asking for a picture or autograph is respectful and not interrupting anything. And I understand why that doesn't happen very often, considering most wrestling fans are disrespectful tools.

There are 2 sides to it.

1. It's probably the fan's only chance to get a pic with that wrestler, and it doesnt take long to pose for a pic.

2. You do it for one and it can turn into spending a lot of time posing for pic after pic.

I can see both sides. I guess it depends on what mood the wrestler is in that day and their level of stardom. Lesnar probably gets hassled for pictures alot more than someone like Colt Cabana who probably wouldn't have any problem posing for a picture with a fan. When you are very famous it must get frustrating not being able to do anything in peace.

All I wanted was a simple picture with my erect penis laying comfortably in the middle of Brock's chest.

He is on TV like that all the time. I don't understand why he had to be such a jerk about it.

If you hate public attention, stay off television. Sorry, but I have an issue with people who make a lot of money from being famous who complain when people treat them as... well, like they're famous.

It's pretty good. It's one of the reasons why I think Brock is awesome. People forget this dude recovered from an illness that 70% of people either die or never recover from. He was on deaths door and came back from it. The guy sounds like he made the wrong decision in being a wrestler or MMA fighter, honestly, from it I got that he wanted to be a farmer more than anything else.

And as the pigeon went to take the grain he would quickly replace it with a Jimmy John and mutter, "eat, sleep, eat Jimmy Johns, repeat!"

I think that's kind of a weak argument. He still has to make a living. He has the right to make it however he wants. If he wants to be left alone, then leave him alone. His job isn't to sign autographs.

It was probably a pretty tough choice.
Having the top wrestling company in the country and the top mma company in the country willing to pay you what I assume would be a bunch of money for someone right out of college.

I think most of us would go for the money knowing we are potentially going to lose our privacy.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the band Sonic Youth but one of the guys from the band Thurston said in an interview a few years ago that he lucked out. He gets to make decent money doing what he loves but he can also go out in public with very few people knowing who he is.
