Kind of hard to make someone who's defining characteristic was being John Cena times ten in NXT more interesting without destroying the core concept of the character.

When you have to produce as many hours of live television and deal with advertising dollars that number in the millions, scripting is very neccesary. The WWE has to attempt to be a lot of things to a lot of different groups of people.

From a PR standpoint absolutely. It does hinder the product though. Other than CM Punk, who only got as over as he did because he went completely off script, WWE hasn't been able to create a real star since John Cena. Daniel Bryan was an anomaly.

Also, this discussion has interested me more than anything that's happened on the show so far.
