Q&A With Creative

What would you suggest to make RP's stand out from others with similar characters?

What is the main quality you look from in an RP?

Do you watch other wrestling promos to get you focused on your own RP?

What would you suggest to make RP's stand out from others with similar characters?

Just know your character. For example, the cocky heel. Anyone can write a cocky heel RP. Write something where even if we take the names out, we can tell that this is so-and-so's RP.

What is the main quality you look from in an RP?

I have a few things that I look for. First, like I said in the answer before this, I want to read something that is Garth Black and not Tastycles, Titus and not Lee, etc. Something that can keep me interested, because God knows I have the world's shortest attention span. And finally, something I have been guilty of not doing, addressing both your currently storyline and your opponent. If it's helpful, feel free to come to any of us with storyline ideas. We always listen to suggestions and try our best to implement them. If you kinda know what your character is doing, it makes writing easier.

Do you watch other wrestling promos to get you focused on your own RP?

I don't watch promos to help me write my own. I like to listen to my character's entrance music and get into his head because I want to write a promo as Phoenix, not as Undertaker or Jericho or whoever.

What would you suggest to make RP's stand out from others with similar characters?

Well for me personally, I noticed right after I joined up, that a bunch of other guys joined up with a similar gimmick, and I think in order to stand out with a similar gimmick, is to just be a good writer. Be good with description and be good at taking the similarities and using them as well as using the differences to help you get noticed.

What is the main quality you look from in an RP?

Again, great writing, good description, anyone that can tell a story through their words and have it read so that the reader can visual the actions, that is a great quality to have.

Do you watch other wrestling promos to get you focused on your own RP?

I used to watch other promos. I still do from time to time. Back when I first started , you could see my character was a bit darker, I was really using Raven as inspiration back then. Now I only watch promos if I can't think of any ideas on my own.

Do you guys see a ranking system being put in place to name contenders for titles anytime soon?

This is an interesting idea, but I don't know if it would work here. Circumstances change so quickly, I mean, we just had like 5-7 guys take breaks all at the same time or someone can start getting on a roll while another loses their stride. This is a good idea, but I don't think it would work for us. I'll let the rest of the guys weigh in though.

I don't see it happening at any time in the near future. I've never really been a big fan of it happening such like in ROH or TNA now, and I feel that they are unnecessary for our fed. Reason being is that everyone can sort of see who the top contenders are and those that hold a title are at the top of their game for the division they are in. So if we were to implement a ranking system, it could restrict the storylines and feuds we currently develop to how the ranking system is. As you know, not all feuds are over a title. Everyone wants to be a champion yes, but often times those personal feuds end up being the better ones. A title feud is easy to book, but something with a deeper back story and situation is more intriguing in my opinion. So everyone would be more focused on how to better their ranking rather than the feud that their character is currently in. Now granted feuds could be built from those rankings, but then it's basically come down to the same type of feud as a title feud. Rather than fighting over an actual title, you'd be fighting over the number 5 ranking in the Elite X Division as an example.

Would it work for us? No idea, it could work greatly, or it could bomb horrendously. I haven't seen a ranking system work consistently well in any actual wrestling promotions, so I'd be very leery about implementing one for our fed.

Also I realize that we did something like this leading up to KC with our Eurasian/Elite X round robin tournament, but that was a temporary tournament, not a full time implemented feature. I think it went well and may very well be something we revisit in the future.

Well instead of ranking system do you guys have plans to do tournaments or leagues agains for titles? I personally loved those as it gives more people a shot at the belt, and it mixes it up instead of a GM just naming a contender.

There will be some again in the near future, but with us currently still sorting on the Pay Per Views Cycles, it's not our top priority.

Not to mention that with Unscripted being a special themed PPV. In the end, we'll use a tournament when the time is right again, we don't want to overdo them.

Time for some Q&A with Phoenix

Any questions about when LL/Falkon goes up or spoilers will be infracted.

Not really a spoiler but was the Lethal Lottery decided the same way that we decided the way we decided it last year? If so, how close was the voting from Creative?

Dear Phoenix
What's the expected LL to KC run? Any plan on the league style structure again or not?

The voting system was similiar to last year, made into a better and easier system. It made things a lot smoother, but the guarantee is that the winner was a unison choice and not planned at all. The voting was very close until the very end.

Currently the plan is 4 Rounds without a Megashow. Leagues have been discussed but I don't think they will make a return this year no.

If you could book a feud with any WZCW wrestlers EVAH what would you do?

Well one of them of I am currently feuding with, that being Everest, definitely a feud that has gone with the way I liked it to have gone, I thank michigan for being a superb rival.

Otherwise my choices out of those not here anymore would have been Vengeance or The One Big Will. Naturally for the Will one, it would be probably more of a matter there can only be one Big guy in the fed, finishing off with a match where the loser is not allowed to call himself "Big ____".

That's if I was booking Big Dave.

If it was any feud with anyone present. I'd say I'd book Constantine/Winters/Jones for the rights to save WZCW, with the losing two having to join the winner's leadership. Would make a pretty badass stable.

Past guys, I'd book Rios/Everest on how it SHOULD have gone.

How do you think the LL will rank as a show? I have a feeling it will be on of the best that we do this year.
Thoughts on me in Creative?
Chances of changes to the KC line-up? Will KFAD still be in the Chamber?
Who would you have picked as the LL surprise entrants? If you dont answer this I dont mind..... :)

If I mark out during planning processing on a PPV, I know it's going to be a good one. My Marking Out Manly Meter reached a factor of 15, so it's definitely going to kick the new year off in style.

Superb addition. Strongly consistent, eager and always open for ideas.

Well Ty and I have already discussed plans for KC based on how the Lottery turned out, all will be revealed (to Creative guys) after Lottery is up so to elaborate them. Hell yeah the KFAD will still be in the Chamber!

I'll answer it after the Lottery is up, any response I give now will spoil it.

If an application is cleared and ready, does that mean your character will then debut on the main roster?

No, you get a Contract Match. Write a good RP and then you get on the roster.

Who do you reckon would be able to take up the mantle to RP with any character? (ie who would you trust to RP as Big Dave)

Which current RPers do you think are going to have a break out year in 2011?

I think things that should hopefully occur is Blade and Gordito winning their first championship. As for breakthroughs, I think Baller will continue to rise up, I think he'll get a midcard belt. Same for Kravinoff and Baez.

Other four I think big things will happen for are Holmes, Smith, Winters and Ferbian. This isn't anything against anyone else on the roster, I always expect someone to break out, these are those who I put in the "likely" section. I'm expecting more Gorditos and Barbosas to appear.

Who do you reckon would be able to take up the mantle to RP with any character? (ie who would you trust to RP as Big Dave)

That's a toughie. I think for me, anyone on Creative and former C-members like Showtime and Dave I would be able to trust with handling Dave, given they write/written for him on a match front and know how he works, RPing for him wouldn't be a problem.

Where do you see the fed one year from now? (IE Direction)

Well given that for 2009, we got Most Improved and 2010 we got Best Forum, we definitely want to keep consistency.

When going through the shows in the past year for voting EOY, there was definitely a change of quality as the year go on, the first show at the start of the year had no segments for example. I think I would like to see more people on the roster as we averaged about 30 guys for the last two years so we could keep consistency in areas like the Tag and Mayhem Division. So in a nutshell, I'd say the direction I would see is consistency continuing from last year, more members and fining out the harder areas of some of the divisions, effectively to continue to get bigger and better on top of last year.
