SmackDown! is MY Show
300X450gab07.jpg

Its the next PPV after Vengenace: Night of Champions and the last PPV before the summer's biggest party PPV Summerslam

If you insist on making card predictions give reasons. If you dont give reasons you post will get deleated and you will recieve a warning. So it's a waste of everybodys time.

Wow. It's good to see Mysterio coming back, (at least thats what I'm getting from the poster). Hopefully though, he won't be in the main event. Maybe, when he comes back, he will feud with Chavo for the Cruiserweight Championship, and possibly bring prestige back to that title. Does anybody remember the awesome matches he had as Cruiserweight Champion back in '01, '02 and'03? Ever since then, that title has been regarded as the least important title on the SmackDown! roster. If you think about it, it always was, but in the past it was always a prominent addition to the SD! titles, along the lines of the Intercontinental and US Championships.

Ok the Great American Bash has been one of the worst PPVS in the WWE for 3 years now and they really need to do good this year if they want sucess. Ok so since at Vengence there is Batista vs. Edge in the Do or Die match Edge is not losing the title now or for a long time so there for Batista will be out of the title picture for a while. So I see Edge as the Champion going in to the Great American Bash. As for Edge's opponent there is only one guy for him to face and that is Rey Mysterio. Unless the Suplimentry Draft brings someone else.

I think Edge will retain at Vengeance. I'm thinking that he will face Matt Hardy at GAB. Edge will have noone to fued with since he and Batista won't be able to face each other anymore. Matt Hardy isn't in any fued that I can think of at this time and gets huge pops from the crowd. Although Hardy won't win the title, it will solidify him as a major player on Smackdown.

I think that Edge will face Rey Mysterio b/c they would have great in ring chemistry and why else would Rey be on the cover of the poster if he wasn't in a big match and there cant be a bigger match than the world title and who else is Edge going to face? I don' think that he'll face Matt Hardy. Reason being that Matt Hardy is still in the tag team title picture and if he's out of that than i still don't think that he's going to jump right to a world match. But there are some expections like Orton who one month after going for the IC Title went to face Benoit for the wrold title and there are actually quite a few more examples but n/eways to cut this short.... Rey Mysterio will face Edge.

Another match that i think will happen will be John Cena defending the wwe title vs either Orton or Booker. Reason being for that is that King Booker could be all like he won the world title at last year's Great American Bash and since he's there on Raw he wants to make history again. Reason for Orton is that he could say that he's been on the most amazing role of his life and go for the title. I'm just taking a guess at this though.

One more thing i want to add which has nothing to do with this thread but about summerslam is that i think that Cena and Lashley will face each other for the wwe title and i think that Lashley would win, b/c Vince is very high on him and who other to beat Cena than another one high in Vince's mind.

What i think will happen is that at vengeance batista will win by dq thus not losing but not getting the title. At GAB there will be a hiac match and edge will win

The possibility of a Rey/Edge feud is very intresting. I cant wait. Edge deserves better than being stuck with the lumbering Batista. Although I was surprised that Rey wasn't drafted to Raw on Monday. Then again the PPV's are now tri-brand so he could still get drafted later today.

It looks like there will be a Foley/Umaga match at TGAB. I think this could be really good. Foley always has entertaining match's and I think Umaga will be a good brawler. This has already made me more intrested in this event.

I also see an ECW Title match between Benoit & Punk. I think it will be them two who face each other at Vengeance. That match, given enough time will be an absolute classic.

I feel that we will get a Cena/Booker match. Cant say I'm looking forward to it. They didn't work well together last time they feuded.

I also think we'll see Orton vs. Lashley. That match wont be much better.

We'll see a MVP vs. Flair rematch. I dont have high hopes for there first match. MVP's improved, but not enough to carry the OAP that is Ric Flair.

If Rey hasn't returned for the GAB then I have no idea who Edge will face. I dont see a heel vs. heel match so that leaves, Kane or Flair if they dont continue his feud with MVP. Cant say I'm eagre to see either feud. It also shows what a shit draft it was. So the person who is supposed to carry the Smackdown brand only has two potential feuds? Unless he turns face, Edge is fucked.

Well if Rey is at the event, i say hes going to face umaga, because last time he was in the ring he got beat like a government mule. I'd say bring in Matt to face MVP, mostly because matt isnt quite ready for a world title picture, and if they want to solidify his status better they should have him face for US title. Maybe get a small in ring return of JBL since this is technically his event, but odds on that happening are very low.

All I know is that this year's GAB PPV looks to be the best ever produced by WWE. I ordered the 2004 GAB and thought it was good, mainly b/c JBL (the wrestling gawd) won the WWE Title and the hot opener. I got the 2005 GAB PPV when I bought the 2005 Rewind box set. It was terrible! The only good thing about it was the Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio match. As for last year's I never saw it. I was able to see the Punjabi Prison match on You Tube, but last year's really didn't look too good.

As for this year's GAB. I don't know what the lineup will be, but considering it will be a tri-branded event it has to be good.

WHAT!?? Have you been watching wrestling lately???
just kidding mate!! :D But they have been producing crap after crap, and honestly, the only watchables PPVs this year: Royal rumble and WM23: both were criticized though.

I agree with you, and concerning the GAB lineup, dont expect too much surprises... Maybe a Mysterio return?(poster teaser syndrome, sorry...) and i'm really looking forward to see a Lashley vs Booker match for the no 1 contender spot(WWE belt) for me, this could be the feud of the summer, leading of course, a match at Summerslam between these 2 in a cage or some special stipulation.

Also, i see Orton vs foley, just to set up the return of Triple H on summerslam. concussion time is back, and even Foley cant do anything about it.

This leaves the WWE champion "Juan" Cena :D without a contender.....WRONG!!!!! for those worried about some blond wrestler getting lost in the midcard, I got news (well, this is only my unpretentious opinion) I think Mr. KEENEEDYYYYY.. Kenedyyy :headbanger: is going to wrestle and BEAT Cena at the GAB in a non-title match or some other shit... The BAD news: i think Kennedy will be in the line for "The Cena Treatment" after GAB, or what is the same, doing the J.O.B.

Other matches could include Edge vs Mysterio (see above) or maybe vs Kane...yes, you read well... With SD fucked up and Batista out of the title scene (for a little time i guess...see why)this could be the time for a Kane push until he actually win the title, ONLY to lose it to Edge again, or even worse......to Batista. :(

i see a Matt hardy vs finlay hand to hand match just to put over (is this possible??) Matt, and prepare him for a eventual WHC title shot in a near future. Your average SD match, but with a HUGE twist of fate finisher...

MVP should be on the card also, i guess a rematch for the US belt with Flair is the most logical thing.

finally, ECW will cooperate with ECW champ Jonny Nitro vs either Cm Punk or elijah burke.... both possibilities sounds good to me, Nitro is OK as a champ, i expect a successful defense, even with a Triple threat match.

That should be it, 7 matches...Wait!! almost forgot the new champ Candice michelle vs jillian hall, should be a good quick match, candice needs to deliver as a champion if she wants to keep that belt for more than 1 PPV.

Ok, now that should be it, 8 matches, just the exact amount for your average WWE PPV. nothing out of the ordinary, besides a possible Rey Mysterio return.

I thing the matches will be:

1.) WWE Championship: John Cena vs King Booker vs Bobby Lashley
Lashley is one of Vince's projects, and after making him ECW champion and look unstoppable I don't see him out of the tilte picture for a while. King Booker will be in it just so there is a heel in this match. It is not a major ppv so there will be no face vs face.

2.) World Championship: Edge vs Ric Flair
Since Batista can't fight Edge for the title anymore, I see WWE having Batista getting Ric Flair to fight Edge for them and say that if Flair wins he should be the first person Flair gives a title shot to.

3.) ECW Championship: Johnny Nitro vs CM Punk
Punk won the #1 contenders match On ECW. I don't see Nitro losing yet, but I could be wrong.

4.) United States Championship: MVP vs Batista
It would continue the Batista/ Flair swap.

5.) Randy Orton vs Mick Foley
Orton has been telling Foley about the careers he ended. So I see Orton faceing Foley and having Foley losing to Orton and having Orton "end" Foley's career. This would continue the career killer thing for Orton and have him ready for Triple H.

6.) Cruierweight Championship: Chavo Guerrero vs Jimmy Wang Yang
This would be the match Rey returns in. I could see him either attacking Chavo after the match and having those two feud for the cruiserweight title for a while before having Rey vs Edge. Or I seeRey costing Chavo the title like with Rey/Booker from a year ago.

There would most likely be more matches, but that is all I can think of right now.

Punk vs. Nitro is all but confirmed. I think Punk will win. The only reason I feel that Nitro won it in the first place is because Benoit didn't show up. Nitro would have dropped it to him on ECW T.V. in my opinion. They wanted Benoit as champ. And they didn't want Punk's first title victory to be meaningless.

Well you right that is match will happen at the GAB, but I'm going to say that Nitro will retain the gold and this feud will contunie for the summer and end at Summerslam with Punk winning the gold. As Nitro and Punk had a ok match at Vengeance and I belive they could have a decent program with some good matches. Anyways WWE is high on Nitro and I dont think they will take the ECW title off him just yet. This will be the feud for the summer in ECW.

Yeah but Punk has recieved a better push so far this year. And he's considerably more over. Nitro's Vengeance victory was his first PPV appearence in nearly 6 months. If Benoit was there he would have won the title. But obviously he didn't show. I think the only reason they put the title on Nitro is because they intended on giving it to Benoit on the next ECW show. It doesn't matter if it harm's Nitro because he hasn't been pushed strongly for months. But if Punk won the title then lost it two day's later he would look like a complete jobber. But with Benoit now gone I feel they will put it on there second choice.

On wwe.com they've posted a few blogs and ran some polls to promote the Nitro/Punk fued, and I can honestlt say i'm eager to see what happens. At Night of champions it was obviously a surprise to see Nitro replace Benoit, then go onto become the new heavyweight champion, but I think it was a great move. Nitro is a very talented-still young individual who has a lot to proove. While their match wasn't the most amazing title match i've ever seen, it was definatly good. I've followed CM Punk from his ROH days so I know what he is capable of, and after watching Nitro from SD! to RAW and now ECW, I'm pretty sure he's the champ I've been waiting for to bring excitement back to wwECW. so at TGAB i'm wondering how their title match will pan out. I personally think Johnny Nitro will have a sucessful title defense. I mean why would they just put the heavyweight title on him just so he could lose it so quickly? I believe the creative team at WWE is trying to shake things up, plus Punk is a fan favorate. so most people would expect him to win. By Nitro defending the title, it will cause some eyebrows to be raised. Plus if he puts on a good match, it will help move him along in the eyes of fans world-wide.

Great points Jake, but only reason I'm feeling that Nitro will retain at the GAB is that they want to make it seem not that Nitro was just going to be a transitional champ. Personally I think this just adds to Punk's push that he he his climbing this mountain and he finally reaches it at Summerslam in a Extreme rules match i bet. But the match at the GAB should be a good one with Nitro cheating to retain i can see a DQ and thus the rematch at Summerslam. This is the best way for WWE to se if Nitro can be a main eventer and they will let Punk be the man for a long time i feel on ECW as champ as the fall going to WM will be Punks time as the man. But for rest of the summer it will be Nitro.

i think that we are going to see Rey vs Edge, mainly because A. he's on the poster. B. They used to tag so they have history. C. They will have excellent chemistry. This will be a one time match I think, mainly because like someone said earlier its quite likely that Rey will face Umaga, and im guessing this might happen at Summerslam, but then again a Rey/Edge rematch could be a impressive main event for Smackdown! at Summerslam, especially now Batista is FINALLY out of the main event picture, for now anyway.

As for RAW im thinking that we'll probably see John Cena defend against Randy Orton or King Booker as said before by others as well. Booker seems more likely given Orton's flip out a few months ago, but doubtless Orton will have a title programme this year somewhen.

RAW will also see Foley and Umaga i think.. its about time that we saw a good match at a ppv, and i think that this will be.

MVP vs. Kane. Kane beat MVP recently and its about time that Kane got some more good exposure in WWE.

As for anything else i dont know but i am thinking that if these matches happen it will be pretty good..

Not to sound uncaring or mean but, I do believe due to so much heartbreak emotions going on this could go down as PPV of the year. It seems like every time some tragic tragedy occers every wrestler is on top of they're mat game. Then again who knows this might easily end up a stinker. Just my random thoughts. :icon_rolleyes:

i hope rey rey fukin kills chavo geurrero wen he comes back

I think we have had enough deaths this year. :dark2:

........................It would be great to see Rey back without a doubt.

True, way too many!

But the only matches I see so far are:

Punk vs. Nitro (I think Nitro will retain, they wanted him main event level status anyway)

Candice vs. Melina (of course Melina will want a rematch and I see it happening here with Candice retaining, hopefully)

young man, you could be totally right on this one.... i never thought on this possibility. DAMN, why this piece of crap just don't give up!!

well ive been thinking about the wwe title and i belive now it may be john cena vs. randy ortan with ortan possibly winning or setting up a match for summerslam.

i saw an article on this site about how triple h wants ortan to get the belt cause he thinks it would bring higher ratings for cena to chase the belt...
and given the amount of power triple h has backstage i think this might just happen

Well, Batista has to be there somewhere, so I believe that a former team of tag team champions will re-team to challenge a set of current tag team champions who have absolutely no competition. Mark my words: Deuce & Domino vs. Dave Batista and Ric Flair. They're starting the rekindling of Batista and Flair, so this only makes sense to me. Maybe Mark Henry will interfere, allowing D&D to retain (because fans cannot be expected to believe that D&D could actually beat Batista and Flair), thereby setting up the Batista vs Henry program.

It's pretty clear by MVP's non-title loss to Kane that Kane will be getting the US Title shot. And rumor has it Rey Mysterio is getting the World Title shot.

Obviously, on the ECW side of things, we'll see a CM Punk vs Nitro rematch. Maybe, we'll see a Burke & Marcus Cor Von tag team match, but that will be all for ECW matches. I don't even know who they would fight, as there are no real unions in ECW. Amongst The Boogyman, Kevin Thorn, The Miz, Dreamer and Matt Striker, there is no real reason to team any of these guys up. I see Boogyman and Thorn as the most possible option, but the GAB will probably only have the Title match as far as ECW is concerned.

Over at Raw, they have to keep Lashley in the title picture because he seems to have someone high up under his influence. However, I agree with a previous poster that it cannot be face vs face for a minor Pay Per View, but instead of Booker, I figure Orton would fit better.

As far as the IC belt, I figure Umaga may win that tonight, and they'll spend more time slowly building Marella, keeping him off PPVs for a while. But Umaga doesn't really have a fued going. He could challenge anyone from Carlito to Booker to Jeff Hardy to William Regal to Snitsky. Or all six. Or there might not be a IC Title match, which leaves all six without something to do.

We also have Tag champs Cade & Murdoch along with a plethora of teams on Raw like Londrick, WGTT, Cryme Tyme and The Highlanders. I figure Londrick will probably job to the champs.

Of course, everything here is revolving around titles, as there aren;t really many non-title rivalries going on, as the draft kind of ended them all. So, my final card:

WWE Title: Cena (c) vs Lashley vs Orton
World Title: Edge (c) vs Rey Mysterio
ECW Title: Johnny Nitro (c) vs CM Punk
IC Title: Umaga (c) vs Carlito
US Title: MVP (c) vs Kane
Raw Tag Titles: Cade & Murdoch (c) vs London & Kendrick
SD Tag Titles: Deuce & Domino (c) vs Batista & Flair
Special Inter-promotional match: Burke & Cor Von vs Matt & Jeff Hardy

That last one was just for the fun of it, and the Hardys have to be somewhere on the card. This leaves the Women's Title and the Cruiserweight Title off the card, which is okay for one PPV. Anyway, I'd be happy with this card, and most of it makes sense as compared to the plotline.

Well we have Cena vs Lashley as the main event for the WWE Championship and I have to say that there is no way that Cena is dropping the belt to Lashley. As much as I want him to drop the belt i see no way that he losing to Lashley. Should be a pointless match that i can see Orton interfering so he gets the title shot at Summerlsam It wont be a long match as both men use power and power matches dont last long. Not the worst main event ever but not worth watching. Cena will retain in a short match.

I disagree, now that Cena has someone with more speed and power than himself to face, he might tap into his moveset a bit more. Also that means that Lashley could win the match, then he can beat Cena in a rematch on RAW. At Summerslam Lashley can lose the belt to Orton or HHH, setting the stage for the long-awaited HHH/Orton program. Cena can have a feud with Mr. Kennedy, maybe even for the IC title, we saw tonight that those two have great chemistry, the promos would be gold.

Anyway, a lot of good can come from this.
