[Official] Stormtrooper vs The World Thread

And I can bag on Coco, you, and anyone else for finding such a serious, terrible event FUNNY.

I don't understand how thousands of deaths can be considered funny. If you do, then I'm a better person then you. Yeah, now I'm being an ass. Why? Because laughing at the murder of thousands of people has NEVER been funny. nor have jokes about such things.

That's your prerogative, but nobody's forcing you to lurk the cage, my man.

Comedians make jokes about tragic events and get fired for it. Maybe we should fire Coco. That'll be nice. He thinks he's a comedian, he made an insensitive joke about a tragic event.

Comedians get fired from where? Last I checked, comedians are freelance workers. And I've never heard of a comedian getting "fired" from either of the two biggest comedy companies in the world (Comedy Central and HBO). In fact, I'm pretty sure Jeff Ross just made a Greg Giraldo death joke on the most recent Roast special, which would be the first Roast Greg Giraldo hasn't been on. After 9/11, there was nothing BUT 9/11 jokes.

Jeff Dunham, one of Comedy Central's biggest comedians, features a suicide bomber character.

Who cares if they fired him? I'm sure there are many more comedians in the sea. Especially of the Japanese kind.

If you cannot laugh at bad things that have happened then... I don't know

I mean where would Ireland be if the Irish could not be self-patronising or make jokes about the Famine, priestly child abuse or terrorism? Probably bigger suicidal drunks than we are already

I see your Charizard and raise a Hulk Hogan

Laughter heals all wounds. I can't believe that Stormtrooper is flipping out about this. Gilbert Godfrey made a 9/11 joke shortly after the plane crashed, and while the joke fell flat, he still finished the set and got thunderous applause.

Yeah it was a tragedy, but laughing at history is one thing that keeps us all sane and in the present.

I didn't see the thread, but why is it so far fetched to think that with the way events turned out, and all the questions that have been unanswered about it, that it was an inside job? Politicians and corporations have been raping and murdering for years.

Look into a thing called the Business Plot if you don't think people are capable of trying horribly insane, power induced ideas. Google that shit mess and tell me that the people holding that much power couldn't think of doing something equally as foul these days.

Ok, checked it out. Didn't see a joke made, though. Just a simple question posed. Well, ok, the mass suicide thing is probably the joke part. But still...

This is just stormtrooper demanding everyone conform to what he wants and what he thinks is funny.

Remember Me has the most awkward twist to any movie i've ever seen. Pretty bad movie as well.

Guys, look, it's only natural for us to have to conform to others' tastes in order to evolve as a community. Therefore, let's try and joke about national tragedies that are no longer "too soon".

So, how about that President Lincoln getting shot?

No, that's still pushing it a bit.

YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE. MY GIRLFRIEND IS BLACK, AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU DIDN'T MAKE FUN OF THE MAN WHO SINGLE-HANDEDLY FREED HER ANCESTORS.

DICK.

That is correct. Why, I would be appalled if somebody were to, say, make a commercial depicting Abraham Lincoln talking about going to a play, or some other such tomfoolery...

sorry if I don't find people joking about 9/11 funny.

I have every right to not find it funny, and I have every right to red rep someone for even making such a stupid claim that it was a Mass Suicide or an inside job.

Don't even get me started on this. I now you're a complete fucking twat, but I didn't know you were THAT stupid.

Without a fucking doubt 9/11 was an inside job, and you know how many educated, successful people are part of the 9/11 truth movement, not just some ****** like me, but a lot of people think that.

You are the perfect example of the average american, oblivious to the truth, just listen to what they tell you.

Even if it wasn't an inside job, there was defiantly some lies to the story. Yeah right, you think those people actually took over the plane and stopped the "terrorists"? What heroes right? No. That plane was shot down.

Now if anybody said it was a Mass Suicide...that just sounds like bullshit. You need to watch some of Jesse Ventura, he's got two episodes on just parts of 9/11, and I guarantee you there will be more. That corrupt son of a bitch named Bush, and all his little friends in the Republican party set the whole thing up.

The government has been trying to cover all of this up, but there are many high influcenced people working to get the truth out, and with Bush out of office, it's going to be a lot easier. Open your fucking eyes, it was an inside job. If you actually think that whole thing went just like the 9/11 commission said, you are completely lost my friend.

Remember Me has the most awkward twist to any movie i've ever seen. Pretty bad movie as well.

From what I gather (I haven't watched it) the twist comes from out of nowhere? What's the point in using a big, emotional event like 9/11 if it has no relevance to the plot? Surely that eliminates the drama involved in the situation?

There is absolutely NO hint to it being even remotely close to that date in the entire movie. You see the office that the movie ends in earlier in the movie, but after that nothing. It just shows the date on the board of the sisters school, and than shows him in the building.

That sounds like they decided to cut the majority of the sub-plot for time reasons but still wanted to go out with a big emotional sucker punch...which sounds like it fell flat on its face.
