[OFFICIAL] Kaval / Team Laycool Discussion Thread

while i think he has alot of potential in the ring, i am not a fan of his speaking persona one bit.

he sounds like he's about to sing Chocolate Rain to be honest lol. and on top of him having such an odd-toned voice he doesnt know how to use it to his advantage just yet. he doenst make the right facial expressions when he's speaking yet either...

i think once he figures this out his potential will skyrocket. he's already entertaining in the ring so i think he's more than halfway there..his voice and whatnot just kinda irks me.

Low Ki. Senshi. Kaval. Not a chicken, all warrior. Short in stature but all heart.

Kaval is one of the reasons that I tune in to NXT on Tuesdays. His stiff style of fighting is great to watch. It might be personal preference but I love when wrestlers employ kicks into their arsenals. The NXT community hasn't even seen Kaval perform the Tree of Woe with the Warrior's Way and Black Magic.

Because I love you guys so much here's a video of Kaval's top moves:

Over the years, Low Ki has evolved immensely, but one constant still remains in the respect that his Kicks are all to be feared and respected. Low Ki also possesses some impressive agility as well, helping him to pull off some spectacular moves. No one survives the Ghetto Stomp. No one. The Ki Krusher and Dragon Clutch are also there to ensure that Low Ki's opponents don't leave the ring a winner.

Kaval's mic work is great and to hear such a booming deep voice from him is a surprise but it plays so well into his Warrior persona. Kaval sounds like a samurai or some great warrior that one only sees in the movies. I enjoyed his speech about chickens this week and I agreed with what he said in the Keg Carry the week before. He shouldn't have to carry such a heavy Keg because of the fact that it might injure him. He is already popular with the fans AND he has the respect from the veterans. Immunity would be superfluous for him at such an early stage in the competition.

I am a little irked with how they're booking Kaval. Didn't creative realize that this was a bad idea after the Danielson incident? You can't just keep giving the veterans losses in order to make the other rookies look good. They SHOULD WIN over 50% of their matches. It just doesn't make sense for Kaval to have lost to Eli Cottonwood and Alex Rilex and The Miz when his only one win came in a tag team match. In my opinion, he should have beaten Cottonwood and Riley and be 3-1.

The internet community loves Kaval because of all of his exploits in TNA, ROH and in Japan. If the WWE is trying to cater to the internet fans by bringing in Bryan Danielson and Kaval into the WWE, why would you go out to make them lose? I really hope that creative gets it together and gives Kaval at least a .500 record by the time NXT is over (because Kaval WILL be in the top three).

This guy is something special folks and is one of the three guys, along with Danielson and Bourne, that will revolutionize and change the landscape of the WWE by giving the smaller guys legitimacy and relevance as Heavyweight Champions.

i honestly cant see how anyone who actually watched nxt hte past few weeks isnt impressed by kaval i mean it was a cream come true when he came back to wwe to work in fcw and his match with gabirel is hella dank if you all havnt seen it i suggest you look it up on youtube just type in kaval vs justin gabriel its a great show what both can do but especially kaval i mean the guy makes everyone look good hes great at selling period. he also has an innovative and impressive arsenal of moves that seems never ending if you watch his indy-puro matches i can see him doing even better than danielson in the wwe as it appears to me (and it could just be cause of there characters) but i always kind of thought of danielson (in real life) to be kind of a dry sarcastic asshole type that wouldnt/didnt last long on the pg type of tv while kaval seems to be more focused and complacent enough to just take what is given to him and stick to the pg route i mean they let him do warrior's way so i hope they have high hopes on him like i do i honestly dont see him winning nxt just cause it seems unfair the only non rookie winning nxt kinda like with danielson , honestly i see alex riley or joe hennig winning the race with husky and kaval tailing behind and i can see there reason eliminating kaval being his promo skill cause even though he is good and if you watch him in some roh when he was teamed with homicide acting all gangsta its jsut so different so he has promo skills just how much we will find out ooooooo im excited!!!!

Wow, I'm in complete shock that anyone could possibly say things like "he looked a little green" or "He has a lot of potential". Do you people even realize who he is? What he's already do so far in his career? The man is literally a wrestling God and has been for many many years. It's absolutely a slap in the face to him calling him green. He just has a stiff japanese style that many fans of just the wwe aren't used to seeing. But if you watch a lot of the indy wrestling and all the japan wrestling you'll see that he certainly doesn't just "have potential" he has everything a wrestler should have.

I know I'm getting far over opinionated here, but when I watch Low-Ki in a ring I see something that no other wwe superstar brings and that's an intensity in his physical movement. He puts everything into each match and it's so interesting and great to watch because of it. And i don't remember who said it but someone earlier said that he brings out the best in whoever he wrestles and so far that's shown to be true. His match against the Miz a few weeks back was one of the best matches I've seen in the WWE in a long time. Not only is he able to get in the high-spots he wants but he does the ground work and he puts his opponent over. The Miz, who in my opinion has improved a lot looked better than ever and it was partly due to Low-Ki.

As for those doubting the pairing of him and Laycool, I can feel ya. I was super hesitant at first even though I absolutely love Laycool and their banter on Smackdown but if you think about it they have something Low-Ki needs to improve on and that's the mic work. Low-Ki is really inspirational when he gets on the mic and I'm sure that he could talk for hours about how passionate he is for the business but the fans of the WWE buy more into the John Cena haha funny shit. The only people that are super serious are heels such as Jericho. I think that the dynamic between the three of them has not only been extremely entertaining but it's been good for Low-Ki in the funny department. He's such a serious guy and then you see him wearing this pink bedazzled t-shirt? Loves it!

Anyways, yeah that's my two cents. I will never understand how people don't see "Kaval" as an amazing wrestler, but I guess that's my indy wrestler bias kicking in. Maybe I'd think differently if I hadn't been watching them for so long...but probably not.

After watching the video of Kaval's move-set I am even more excited to see what he can do. Out of the 25 moves on the video the only one I can't see him being alowed to do is the Ki Crush. Everything else looks like it would be allowed. The best part of the moves the video showed is that it has stuff that can be used on wrestlers of all sizes. He can use his arsenal of grapples and suplexes against guys of comparable size and when facing the big boys he still has his submissions and kicks.

Once they let him unveil his full range of attacks he will be awesome to watch.

kaval has impressed me a bit but i dont think he deserves to win his mic skills are terrible and his wrestling is average

I love this team & they standout from the rest of them. I really want to see Kaval win this thing b'cos he is the most talented wrestler out of the NXTS2 rookies & that he was forced to be teamed with 2 Divas who came from the Diva search so Kaval deserves this more than any of them.

I've been a fan of Low Ki since I saw his match against Aj from Zero 1.

I honestly thought he wouldn't transition well over to the WWE for obvious reasons.
But after seeing him in the ring these past few weeks, his in-ring doesn't bore the crowd, infact it draws big reactions.

damn i loved this post and that was me that said that im waldo brown nice to meet ya

i agree with you about his "Green look" the only thing green about him was his trunks and man did you see his match with husky harris that really was something good to me as i am very high on these two as future main eventers yes i went that far but im saying FUTURE (im only stressin that for husky harris) Kaval could be a main eventer right now imo and i like how when harris bumped into him backstage and laycool started backing him up when i first heard about laycool i thought they would treat him like the miz treated danielson i mean who wants to watch one of the greatest wrestlers out there right now get burried week in and week out thats why im really glad they have laycool behind kaval and trying to help him not just sh*ttin on him like the miz did to danielson and thats my two pennies

I am really enjoying Kaval, both in the ring as well as with LayCool. I think he is becoming more comfortable with his speaking (granted, it was only a couple words, but his "Oh, don't worry, we will have a lot of fun" or whatever it was exactly that he said to Harris after he bumped into him was the most comfortable, non-forced, he has sounded so far) and his in-ring work is evolving as well. We all know he has a lot more tools than he has shown so far, but they are letting him grow in a realistic manner in that he is showing something different each week. Even though he is a seasoned veteran outside the "E" he is supposed to be a "rookie" after all :).

Most suprising thing though is his interaction with LayCool. They are clearly having a ball with it and are selling the whole "Look, we have a cute little puppy" way of treating him and he is more or less begrudgingly accepting it (almost like a little brother being picked on by his older sisters). I was very worried about the pairing at first, but it really works.

I wonder how many are rooting for Kaval because his work so far and not just because who he is? It seems like such an obvious move for the internet to get behind the guy?

I was a little skeptical when they paired him up with LayCool simply because Michelle kills excitement faster than finding our your dog died or something. I really thought Kaval wouldn't stand a chance of getting over. But I don't think he is at that point of being a star... And his promos. I still laugh because that voice can't come out of that body. haha

Ill admit I'm rooting for him simply bc of his past. Just like danielson. But to me he's real impressive. He would make some great fueds with evan bourne or kofi kingston. I could so seeing him turn heel. Hopefully, we're looking at a future world heavyweight champion.

Also don't you think him and layla make a cute couple...lol

It has been going on for quite a while supposedly. So I don't see why it should lead to him getting eliminated earlier. Especially considering that he obviously can still go in the ring. He is after all not the only talent in the world that has worked through injury. Triple H and Undertaker did it on a regular basis in 2010 / 2009.

I think Kaval will continue to keep going like he already is, and will be eliminated, or win the whole thing. All after what WWE wants to see happen, no sooner, no later.

Also don't you think him and layla make a cute couple...lol

Layla can make anything look cuter and/or more tolerable. =D

If he is hurt, I guess that would be a reasonable explanation as to why his matches on NXT tend to be short and more gimmick involved... Or it could be that it is a WWE match. lol

I want Kaval to win. I really loved Senshi back in TNA, and when i heard he was heading to WWE I was excited, so when it was announced he would be on NXT season 2 I immediately started hoping for him. However, I don't see him making it past the final 3, maybe even 4. McGuillicutty is still looking strong, and I think at this point he will win it. If he doesn't win, then Alex Riley will. I simply cannot see a scenario where neither of those guys wins the season. It also seems to me that they're starting to get behind Husky Harris in terms of making him a legitimate threat, so he might even make final 3, pushing Kaval out as the competition 4th. I'm sill pulling for Kaval, but it'll be a very tough road for him, and an injury doesn't help his chances.

I don't have anything to say about Kaval this week, but I do have something to say about LayCool: They are incredibly entertaining, better than anything else WWE or TNA is doing with their women, hands down.

Their performance tonight made that kissing contest. It became hilarious with them cheering and clapping and forcing Watson to kiss Margerita. The speech about all the diseases the rookies "won" was great, too. Their delivery was perfect and so was their timng. On top of that, they looked damn good tonight. They're one of the reasons NXT is good. Just pure entertainment through and through tonight.

You forgot a very important thing about Kaval this week, he got to do something that none of us will ever do and that is makeout with the sexy Layla. That alone makes Kaval a winner and in the words of the Miz "AAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEESOOOOOOOME." But he has definitely impressed me in the few matches that I've seen him wrestle in, he's basically a young version of Rey Mysterio that as Kofi said tonight is damn close to a fuckin ninja. I don't think that he'll win NXT but who needs to win when you get to be around the 2 sexiest divas on Smackdown, maybe even in the entire WWE, for weeks on end?

I would like to start this post off by saying, while I love Kofi Kingston, Kaval is a gangster in that pink polo. Nobody ever said warriors can't wear pink.

Unfortunately, wearing the pink polo has not helped him win many matches since arriving on NXT.

Perhaps it's only fair that he loses most of his matches (all of them except one tag match if my memory serves me correctly) as he is the smallest competitor, but little guys beating bigger guys isn't totally unheard of in the WWE.

Kaval has been high on the poles both times, and I think the WWE should respect that the fans seem to be behind him. Give him a little push, let him beat Lucky Cannon in a match, or maybe even be the one to stop the Tank with a Ferrari engine. Either way, let Kaval be more than the little guy who gets tossed around, let him be a warrior.

Just Wow. I was so worried that Team Laycool would destroy Kaval's reputation when they were announced. Now Team Laycool and Kaval have become the highlight of Tuesday nights. I wish this team of three would last a long time.

I couldn't have said this any better.

I honestly wish that Team Laycool could win some kind of an accolade for the work they're doing with NXT. I mean, here are two women that no one ever thought would amount to anything if paired up, and yet they are the most entertaining piece of Tuesday night programming. Not to mention the fact that they are, far and away, the most entertaining aspect of the entire women's division in the entire WWE. Their promos are hilarious, on point, articulate, well-rehearsed, and extremely entertaining. Not to mention the fact that both women have really come into their own with in-ring ability.

With all that being said, as each week goes by, I realize more and more the reason why these women were paired up with Kaval. It seems like they are total opposites which couldn't be closer to the truth. Some view that as being a bad thing. But I'm beginning to realize that the WWE has given Kaval the best compliment to his lack of personality and in-ring work. The WWE was brilliant to have paired up the rookie with the best in-ring ability and most lackluster promo skills with the pros with the worst in-ring ability and best promo skills. (For the record, I'm not saying that Laycool is better on the mic than pros like the Miz or Cody Rhodes, but when you combine their great mic skills with their lack of in-ring ability, you have the perfect compliment to Kaval's entire persona.)

Is Kaval my favorite rookie on NXT? No.

But is the Kaval / Team Laycool team my favorite pairing? ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY.

Do you all think that Kaval not winning any one on one matches has something to do with his past? He always comes out and says that he's traveled the world and wrestled as Low-Ki and even was on Velocity back in the early 2000's. However, he isn't a home grown talent. This is kind of what they did to Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan, whatever). He was a favorite to win, but yet lost every match. He too wasn't a local home grown talent like the majority of the others are. Thoughts?

I think a great way to get him on WWE TV after NXT would be to bring him on as a Lay Cool enforcer,or maybe an updated version of Meat from PMS. The chemistry between these three is dynamite, and they're actually the reason I got excited about season two.I always love to see pairings between fun loving characters and they're stoic counterparts. They've really brought Kaval out of his shell and I think that rub might get him closer to the total package than ever before. I'd hate to see this partnership end when the seasons over.

Boy oh boy did Kaval impress tonight. He was getting some great reactions because of his exciting in-ring work. I wasn't really all that high on Kaval because I haven't been connecting with him, but tonight something really clicked. His performance in the match tonight was a true stand-out one, and it's nice to see him get a win.

Good work, Kaval. With performances like that, and the fans voting him to the top, I actually think he may have a shot at winning this whole thing.

Did anyone see him flip off Lucky Cannon when Lucky called him a nine year old? Pretty funny...hope that doesn't go against him (it was the part where kaval blew on his thumb...idk if you see him actually flip off Lucky) but I like how Kaval is gaining more of a personality thanks to LayCool...I think they are really good for him.
