[Official] Harthan is more badass than you via ponies, magic, and stuff.

Nothin much my brotha! How the hell are you?! I'm watching Small Soldiers and kicking myself for my WZPC picks tonight.

I'm good, good. Had a good fantasy football draft tonight. Another one tomorrow. Sorry about WZPC. I can never manage to get into it; I'll pick for one or two shows and then my interest dies.

And ofcourse Beer is flowing.

Well, of course.

Drugs are bad, m'kay?

You have now been entertained for 1 hour.

As if I hadn't already listened to this song for hours and hours on end.

In related news, as if I didn't already dislike Cena, I just remembered that episode where he mockingly implies Michael Cole is a brony. Man, fuck you, John.

Harthan, should I be concerned that I think Cam Newton won't hit the sophomore slump? I'm waaaay too high on him.

I like Newton for this year. I don't see a sophomore slump, really. I think him avoiding the Madden cover is a sign - he's going to be just fine.

EDIT: I just learned he got hurt yesterday, though, so that complicates matters.

I think he's poised for a MONSTER year, man. That concerns me. If I can, I can see myself taking him with my second pick, unless I can get Rodgers, Brady, or Eli (my top three QBs) before him.

I prefer taking a QB later. I think there's still lots of value down there. Vick is a sleeper, Romo should be solid, Ryan might just be ready to break out at last.

I'd rather build an elite receiving corps and draft a decent QB later, basically. By the way, were you in our WZ league? I'm not sure who everyone is yet, what with all our super creative names and such.

Nice, I'm kind of the same way with Fantasy Football as you are with WZPC. I get really into it for about 2 weeks then I'm done.

So please explain to me how you got into this pony stuff, because until I saw you and everyone else talking about it on here I'd never heard of it.

QB wise Big Ben is always solid, seems to get overlooked though. After last season he should be stepping it up in a big way. I'm not saying 1st pick but 2 or 3 depending on your pickings.

Reddit, basically. I don't know how familiar you are with reddit, but basically there's a ton of individual subreddits for different groups. There's a view where you can just read every subreddit at the same time, and I used to do this a lot before some of them got obnoxious for me, and in this time frame I saw the community for MLP. I had no idea about it at the time, but clicked out of curiosity, checked it out, thought the show was awesome...and slowly lost control of events from there.

If I'd have heard about it anywhere else I probably wouldnt have given it much though but considering you and so many of the guys seem obsessed I will check it out and let you know what I think. Better be GOOD!

I'll say this - it takes patience. The first couple episodes might not do it for you but they're essential for background and character development. It gets really good around "Winter Wrap Up".

You got it, I'll be busy the next few days but I'll give it a fair chance and watch a few episodes. Now a question for you, do you watch Sons Of Anarchy?

Not in the league, sadly. Thriller's message got buried in my inbox under all the quote notifications and idiots bitching about teh infractionz, so I never jumped in.

See, I'm the other way around. I think there's plenty of depth at WR. Decker will have a good year and won't be a hard pick-up, same for Brandon Lloyd, and maybe even Percy Harvin. I don't think you necessarily need a Calvin Johnson to be successful, you just need a core group of guys who are going to get their targets.

So, I saw TDKR today. Let's talk about it.

I think it's a really good film for a long time. Until about the range of Miranda revealing herself as Raas al Ghul's (never know how to spell it) kid. Not that that, in and of itself, is a terrible thing. Conceptually, it's not a bad twist and helps string the plot together. But then they try to make something remotely sympathetic about Bane and I don't know how I feel about that. It's not that I'm opposed to sympathetic villains - I support them a billion times over, really - but this felt really forced. You've got this utter fucking sadist who's basically the League of Shadows incarnate and now what, you want me to feel kind of sorry for him because he once tried to protect an innocent child? It felt forced.

Then it kind of goes downhill. The closing action car/Batplane chase scene is cool and all, but then the whole nuclear detonation thing...eh. I mean, you've got the Catwoman/Batman kiss which is super weird. Why does that even have to be a thing here? Really, I felt like Catwoman as a whole was kind of mishandled. Hathaway did a pretty good job of her, really, but she was never very important. I get that Nolan tried to use her as part of this weird sideplot of the rich vs the poor or whatever, but that entire angle was super weak. So all Catwoman really became was a plot device and weird, forced love interest. I don't know. I thought that final scene on the bridge was just really fucking weird, but Batman killing himself for the city was interesting. The idea that he died when he didn't actually have to is also interesting. The only way I can see it is that the memory of Rachel was the only thing that even kept him alive; while he was able to become Batman once he let go of her, there was also no real reason for him to live anymore, and he took the first out he reasonably could after beating Bane.

Ultimately I think the film is a great action film and a reasonably good ending to the series, but it lacks the intellectual stimulation brought on by Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, which had all these brilliant ideas about fear, chaos, justice, truth, mob mentality, basically all this great shit and it just wasn't there in TDKR.
