I'm here to talk Magic. Isn't that what you meant in the OP? Besides, how can I not say hi in a thread of yours?

Magic is great. RtR will be the most powerful set ever published, forget Innistrad. This is twice as strong. I cannot fucking wait to go get some draft and sealed on in this bitch.

Remember, Innistrad was so highly praised not for being a powerful set, but for being an extremely well designed set. I can't remember a limited environment in which almost every card had a place to shine, or where there were so many options as far as deck archetypes went.

But yes, RtR is going to be fucking nuts. What's great is that it's still clear that they are holding back where they can. Like, it's powerful but not necessarily broken (see also: Urza block, Mirrodin block). There seems to be a better balance in the guilds than there was the first time around.

Also, Rock will be a thing again bro.

Yeah, so will Jund I think. It'll be neat to see Modern/Legacy archetypes returning to Standard. Dude, fucking Vraska, have you seen that thing? Holy shit. If blue gets any decent support the new Jace could do a lot of damage too.

Desecration Demon and Dreadbore are both cards I am super interested in. I think when the dust settles we'll see the B/R Zombie decks current rising in power go to B/g/r aggro/midrange and dominate Standard. Delver will still have power but I think it will no longer dominate Standard post RtR.

I play Modern, Legacy, and Limited. I'm not super in touch with standard. I do agree that B/R is an early favorite so far. Unleash is getting shat on by most, but I feel it is a deceptively powerful mechanic that will catch people off guard pretty quickly. Options are ALWAYS good. And Dreadbore helps.

I'm happy to get a chance a shocklands, obviously. Abrupt Decay is my must have card, just bonkers good for eternal formats. Vraska is sexy as all fuck. That wacky rare u/r one drop with the "exile instant/sorcery you control" ability interests me greatly, even if I know noobs will NOT understand how it works.

Even though it's not what makes her insane (obviously the -3 is where it's at), I love love LOVE Vraska's ultimate. It just feels like an "ultimate", you know? When other cards ultimate, you get a nice emblem. When Vraska ultimates, you get a win condition. It's just so cool, to me. And I think it will win games. Consider that in B/G/R you have Mutilate, Bonfire, Murder (though Murder is tricky to pull off in a tri-color, and Mutilate is obviously less then effective) and probably cards I'm forgetting, not to mention Vraska's own +1, you get into a situation wherein if your opponent is down to two creatures, no matter what they are, you win.

Keep in mind we haven't even seen what removal is out there in lower rarities yet. I'm betting the burn and spot removal will help fill out that package pretty well. I'd also consider her with W/B/G, as Populate plays very well with her ult as well.

As for flavor, absolutely. THAT is an ultimate. A bunch of mini-Phages? Sign me the fuck up.

Yeah, I think B/G/R is more about forcing that ultimate to hit immediately. Whereas in a W/G/B version you can continue to populate those dudes and play the waiting game a bit more. Also IIRC Dryad Militant is W/G which would basically make this version of a Vraska deck impervious to Delver.

Oh, shit, I just looked it up, Dryad Militant is white OR green. Fucking hell, man. How is G/X not going to take over this format? Fairie Imposters right now is about the only thing keeping Delver alive, that and the U/R stuff. Delver is gonna have to get way more controlling to work, I think.

Harthan, do you like or follow MMA? If so who are your favorite fighters and what are some of your favorite fights?

I was a big fan around UFC 100 and maybe +/- ten PPVs thereabouts. I fell out of touch with it, though. I really enjoy it when I see it, but I just never manage to get around to it. I've been thinking a lot of checking out whatever the next thing is. I hear Jon Jones is really good, I always liked Silva...GSP is hurt though, right?

GSP is hurt, started light training around a month ago. Might fight in Dec or Jan. Carlos Condit will be his next opponent. Silva is the man. I can't help but be in awe of what he does in the Octagon.

Jon Jones is simply a beast who still hasn't even peaked yet. He has ran through 4 former world champions in the past 13-14 months. It's scary what he will be like at 25-26.

If you ever get a chance, you should try and find Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida, sit back and just be in awe.

Honestly if you want to keep chucking recommendation of anything post 100 I'll be happy to watch it. I'll track down that fight ASAP.

- Dustin Poirier vs Chan Sung Jung
- Cheick Kongo vs Pat Barry
- Franky Edgar vs Benson Henderson 1
- Franky Edgar vs Gray Maynard 2
- Paul Daley vs Nick Diaz
- Robbie Lawer vs Melvon Manhoef
- Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort
- Randy Couture vs Lyoto Machida
- Dan Henderson vs Fedor.
