That seemed like another decent ECW and I am liking Dusty Rhode's booking because he is adding something I can't quite put my finger on to ECW. Hmm, maybe it is the fact that we want to watch ECW a little now and while I am not saying we are overly eager for it, we at least have some interest with new storylines and wrestlers, etc. While it is miles away from what it should be and while it will never reach any form of what it used to be, these last few weeks at least show a tiny bit of hope for the future. But then again, the guys that could be improving it are set to be leaving and rightfully so, but it is good to see the WWE utilising their talents a little in ECW before they are gone for the shit that the WWE has heaped on them.
I am glad RVD got the win because he definitely deserved it, and the feud seems to be getting a little better each week. The match seemed decent so that is good for Thornes reputation, but I am just glad that the Originals actually looked good for once in this otherwise uncompetitive feud.
I wasn't too shocked to hear of CM Punk going to the MITB match because that is where he should be and while I don't think he will win, he will add something to the match and it will be a good test for him. Again, Nitro can't get the win and he looks shaky, but I hope they go for a Hardys and MNM match at Wrestlemania with some sort of stipulation and I hope it is a good match because it they have been the only people to have feuded for months and who look like having a grudge match at Wrestlemania, but it needs some reinvigoration to the feud if they are going to have it though.
La Resistance was interesting, and I went into that in another thread. Snitsky was just doing what he looks like doing for the next few months and that was just destroying random people. I have never really liked the guy but he could do well as a monster on ECW.
The main event seemed good for Lashleys standards, but I see no reason why Kennedy has to be involved here and I hope they don't can him by putting him on ECW. I would like Extreme Rules but I guess the no DQ element was enough. I don't think anyone was hurt and it definitely benefited Lashley in their desperate attempt to get him over as their champion. While I think RVD is the deserving champion, they are building Lashley well, although that could turn out to be a Cena-like too well in my opinion. He is not the right guy to carry ECW, but then again, it's only ECW and the champ there doesn't matter. Again, it was a decent main event but I don't like the idea of title matches each week and that Kennedy was involved.
Overall, I would upgrade the show from a C minus to a flat C. It was nowhere near what we would like to see, but it was better than last week and better than usual so I guess they can be commended for that. The feuds are getting good and ECW looks stable for the moment.
