Away/Busy messages on Messengers work about as well as "Please Use Other Door" signs at Businesses. People will always attempt trying, even if the sign says it won't work.

That's why I block people instead. They can't talk to you and they won't even know it LOL. I unblock them later.

Ironically, I'm one of those select few who's honest in whatever my "status" is. If it says "busy" then I likely am, yet I'm online incase one of my friend's in real life should need to contact me and my cell-phone isn't getting through.

If it says "away", it's likely the same case. I'm either sitting at the cpu doing something that I'd really rather not be bothered unless it was by someone who actually needed something, or had something important to say.. (other than "hi")

I have from time to time went "invisable/appear offline" just so I could talk to a select few. But more often than not, if I'm "online" then I'm open to talk in general.. and most the time.. I'm "online" when I'm on.

THEN.. there's times like right now, when I'm not even signed in at all. Because I just wanna focus on one thing, not a lot of mini-conversations with people through a messenger.

Don't invest yourself so much emotionally in someone else. It doesn't hurt so bad when they burn you.
