[OFFICIAL] 2010 Debater's League Shit-Talking Thread

i think we need more debators, man. So many people are saying they'll be judges. Nut UP, Boys. Let's see if you can stand the fire

Quality not quantity.

This. People often think long posts are what wins debates. Bullshit. If you hammer your point, and hammer it well, you'd win.

Ferbs, you wouldn't lose decisively, you'd give me a run for my money.

Chi... I cite our Chicago Debate ;)

Starting my training now. I just wound debating JJYanks about the easiest topic in history... Whether Triple H was a draw in wrestling.

Everyone knows that isn't the case.

Then I'd say I had a draw, and probably lost to JMT in mt Terry Funk thread

I would be somewhat interested if it weren't for the virtual certainty that I would have to debate something I am not in the slightest bit interested in.

My general ambivalence to most things always seems to get in the way

Time will show. If we actually do clash that is. Could both get eliminated by someone else before we even meet. Or be in complete opposite brackets ala Shawn and Austin in this years Wrestlezone Tournament.

Triple H is a draw for me. I tune in to watch him as Champion every week. You have been bested this day.

Like I said, he has his fans and is a draw for some people, but for the majority of people he isn't a draw. What's so great about him as champ? He drops the same generic promo every week, and that's about it.

Whenever he's a face, people love him. Whenever he's a heel, people despise him. Either way people wanna see what he's gonna do next, isn't that considered "being a draw"?

I would like to see it.

Triple H's Reign As Champion, in buy rates:

.75. (Unforgiven)
.77 (No Mercy)
.86 (Survivor Series, don't get too excited there. 2001's buyrate was a 1.)
.87 (Armageddon)
.95 (Royal Rumble Down from 1.6 from the last year. Yes, it was driven down a whole .55)
.95
1.4 (Again, Wrestlemania right there, and even then. that was down a whole .2.)

Doesn't look too bad there, does it? I mean, yes, the numbers are decreased from last year, but still not horrific, right? Let's go a little further

.56 (Down from .8 last year)
.58 (Down from .79 last year)
.73 (Down from .9 last year, as King of the Ring)
.74 (Down from 1.32 at last year's Summerslam)
.46 (Down from .77 Last Year)
.73 (Down from .86 at last year's Survivor Series)
.40 (Down from .87 at last year's Armageddon)

Opinions are opinions. Buy Rates never lie.
