That's pretty much all the vast majority of them are from what I've seen. I haven't seen a lot of sigs with original artwork. Just some tweaking and altering of existing photos.

Oh no no. you misunderstood me, I like people who render (render means cutting out images from stocks) and create their own backgrounds. (Though using C4D renders and Fractals are still above my head, I guess that's what I get for taking a break the last 2 years). Not take a stock and just filter it.

Look, maybe some don't get it, but it hurts for people who were trying really hard in that contest, and it hurts for me because I would hate it for one of my graphics to get stolen, so I don't like it when it happens to someone else.
What kills me is that he didn't need to cheat. He would have been able to make something decent without doing that.

That's the kind of stuff I like. They took a random image off the web, that's a Stock (in this case Ichigo from the anime Bleach). They cut him out and cleaned up the image (that's rendering). And then using the rendered image, added C4D (those are basically 3D images people make in a program called Cinema 4D normally) and created their own background from the rendered image.
