NorCal answers Wrestling (and all other) questions!

Funny you say, my left arm is basically a sleeve of historical based pieces.

The medievil coat of arms of the family name

a depiction of the calvary / Constantine's famous battle

an incsription from Arthurian Legend

and will soon be getting a set of runes/the dragons head in a sort of medallion and necklace design on my chest and shoulders

I was asking more about actual items from or inspired by history. Coins, weaponry etc.

:lmao:

Ah, I see.

Man, as much as I wish and would totally geek out over it, the only thing I have that even comes close is my goblet from my bachelor (stagg) party at medieval times :lmao:

Though I suppose some things I have in my possession will be considered as such in 10 - 15 years.

OH! I forgot one....uh, piece, because I don't plan on having it forever. I was in a military surplus store buying things, when some 19ish year old and her skeezy boyfriend were trying to sell....I shit you not....her passed away father's shadow box. The surplus store owner said he would only be able to give them like 5$, because he would have to break it apart for parts, and he did not feel comfortable doing that.

I screamed at this girl "NO THE FUCK YOU ARE FUCKING NOT, SIT RIGHT GODDAMN HERE, I WILL BE BACK" went and withdrawl 200$, bought the shadow box from them, and told her to get the fuck out of my sight, and she should be ashamed.

The shadow box is very old, and has some unique medals in it. So it sorta counts for your question. I plan on donating it to a military academy in the local area as soon as I can find a place to do some restoration work on it in my area.

If you could be in a WM match, who would you tag with & who against?

Favorite thing to eat when overseas?

Home Defense: drawbridge & moat -or- bear traps & snares?

All time? Tag with Bret Hart Vs Mr.Perfect and Ric Flair.

Why? They would keep me from making a complete fool out of myself.

Current roster?

W/Daniel Bryan Vs Triple H and Seth Rollins.

For the same reasons.

Funny enough, for the most part, no place I have had the pleasure of traveling to really had any great "local" cuisines :lmao:

One particular shithole had this sort of pita bread with a tomato and peppers smashed up paste, and me and a buddy were like "why does this taste familu.....THIS IS FUCKING SALSA!!" I mean, that's not what they called it, but that's what it was.

This was one of the swankier resturants in this entire capitol city, we got treated to a rooftop dining experience with all the best they had to offer because we had spent the day helping do major renovation and donations to a childrens hospital.

They bring out a chilled drink wrapped in a towel, like a big bottle, and fancy schmanzy wine glasses, and move the towel back to reveal....

pepsi.

I was like man, fuck yea, I love pepsi, poor me some pepsi, lets go.

Ah. Third world countries.

Def drawbridge and moat. The tactical advantages it gives could allow you to thin out an attacking forces numbers by a ton before they even had a chance to really mount an offensive.

NEWWWW EPISODES OF THE PODCAST!!

Fantasy Football Spectacular with Ty Burna

and

A goddamn MARATHON episode with KB, featuring Hulk Hogan's misadventures, LOLTNA, the new segment LOLGFW, plus Battleground and SummerSlam thoughts!

Had the ol ball and chain not been tugging at your leash, we would have gladly made the FF Spectacular a marathon as well.

That would definitely count.

My Roman gladius, while a replica from a TV show (this one actually - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_Caesar_(miniseries)), has pride of place on my bedroom window sill. I have a couple of books that are over 100 years old and a working model of a catapult.

You may have noticed on the CANI facebook page that I am currently in the process of collecting Roman coins. Got quite a few, with about half currently identified.

A silver denarius of Vespasian is currently the oldest; a bronze follis of Arcadius is the youngest.

On a related subject, got a favourite Roman emperor?

Also, I remember you mentioning Pausanias as a candidate for the best historical heel turn. I would like to propose an alternative in Alcibiades.

What would have happen if La'el Collins had none of that ex-girlfriend killing speculation running wild during the draft, where would have he landed and heat round?

Crack is a helluva drug.

Then I say you guys load up a 2nd episode.

1. It already was

2. We recorded like 3 hours of shows that day, and both our voices were wearing out anyways

3. It already was in excess of well over an hour :lmao:

4. WE DIDNT EVEN END UP GOING TO THE FUCKING FESTIVAL :lmao:

I have gotten a ton of feedback though from the masses, basically summing up to "FEED ME MOAR!!!" So I can us taping another one soon

He was projected as a top prospect at tackle(but in a weak class), so I can't see him dropping past the top ten of the second round, and possibly going as high as to the Giants or The Saints in the first round (specifically the Saints, since it was a need area, and they probably were able to scout the hell out of him)

As a fitness buff what are your thoughts on canned foods? One of my buddies eats a can of ravioli everyday (while cutting!) and it blew my mind but says it works for him

Funny thing, back in my starting out days on the fitness tip, I used to eat a can of the fat free ravioli's every day :lmao:

It depends on how your diet is set up, what you are looking to do. I wouldn't OVERDO it and make EVERYTHING you eat canned, because of the sodium in the preservatives causing you to retain water, but I wouldn't all out avoid them like the mark of the beast either. They are filling and fat free, tough to go to wrong, especially if its one meal of many per day.

This is, of course, for your every day gym rats who just want to be fit. Not for anyone looking to hit the stage or whatever. Then again, I wouldn't be the guy to ask for that sort of thing anyways

Always read they were horrible for you health wise. Nowadays there are mixed studies. Fuck it, everything will kill you now it seems.

Im gonna grab me some can raviolis for pre working out. I don't care about hitting the stage, just whatever will help prevent me from meeting satan (to a degree) during workouts LOL.

I pretty much always work out with an empty stomach, so I cant offer advice on that one.

Go for the ones in the green can. That's the 99% fat free.

Three times. Not joking. Most recently during winter 2013/14.

Though the 2nd and 3rd times, I skipped the Stampede bits. Well, up to the Puerto Rico trip, that is.

@Norcal: You commented in Episode 20 that Lucha Underground wasn't related to anything or associated with anything else. But clearly they're associated with AAA, and they're associated with lucha libre. Doesn't that undermine your argument RE Global Force?

Thaaaaaatsss not what I mean. Yes, from a promotional standpoint, they are AAA step child, but their STYLE of booking and action in the ring doesn't reference or feel like anything else on tv, especially not in America. To someone who is a new viewer or only familure with American wrestling, LU feels fresh, new, it's own thing.....while GFW has gone OUT OF ITS WAY to be connected to TNA.

So NorCal, how long do you suppose it will take Rousey to physically separate Correia's head from the rest of her body in tonight's MMA bout? Typically, I'm only mildly interested in MMA, but with the bad blood leading into this one, I'm very interested to see Ronda Rousey in full beast mode. I think this one is going to be a spectacle. A brief one, but a spectacle nonetheless.

In reality? under 2 minutes. However, since I think Rhonda wants to win this particular one by strikes, maybe we get almost out of the first round.

They referenced AAA when they had Alberto and Texano come in. They mention Alberto is AAA Megachampion quite frequently, and it's why Texano was chasing after him. And I don't think that was the only instance.

It boils down to this

Is LU presented as AAA and a 1/2?

Is AAA as much of a utterly filthy product in America as TNA?

The answer to both would be no. That was my point.

No one is watching LU saying to themselves "This feels like basically a rehash of TNA. TNA is shit. I don't like this"
