Night of Champions - No Disqualification - Triple H vs. CM Punk

I expect Nash to magically get unfired at NOC and cost Punk the win. Maybe it will turn Triple H heel right there or maybe H will try to deny any involvement for a while longer, but that's where I think all this is heading. H will turn heel for good and prove that Punk was right all along with his accusations. And Punk will safe his face.

So, they change the match to add more intrigue?

I don't think it will make the match any better. Punk has absolutely no momentum, and HHH is the last veteran on the roster who can make someone 'look good.' I also think Punk has been total shit in his matches the past few months; but only that Chicago crowd has been about to compensate for it.

Maybe they are having this match 'early' to end the feud early. It sucks and it is awkward trying to watch Punk get reactions for saying something that no one in the crowd gives a flying rat's fuck about. This Punk character doesn't have any sustainability, and it isn't because the 'WWE dropped the ball.' You can be edgy just for the hell of it for only so long before people get bored with it. Heck, a big stipulations were added to the match, but much like the announcement of the match, it was completely swept under the rug on Raw.. Well, until that was all the commentators could talk about during the next match anyway.

ugh.

way too early.

If they play this wrong, all of this will have been for nothing.

This match should not have been made at least until after Night of Champions...

i agree, thought it was pointless, shouldve faced nash at noc, won and some time later find out hhh was really controlling everything, including the summerslam nash thing, and the match shouldve been delayed till at least survivor series

when this match was first announced i thought "oh god triple h is gonna bury cm punk and kick his ass at night of champs" then i hear that if punk wins triple h isnt the boss anymore and i thought "woooooo punk is gonna beat him and pull off a huge shocker!" and now i really have no idea whats gonna happen i could see nash interfearing in the match and laying both men out but i guess ill go with punk to pick up the victory though either way i wont be surprised

If Punk somehow beats Triple H at Night of Champions, then you know Vince, he will take control back of his company that was stolen right out from under him, if not they can always make Stephanie the COO of the company

I think the Punk vs H match is really just a vehicle to further the "Who is undermining Triple H" story. I feel like Punk is going to end up the butt of the feud and may fall off to the wayside.

Maybe it was just the crowd at Smackdown, but they looked like they could care less about Punk vs H. I'm sure Nash will interfere at the behest of Johnny Ace, setting up a Nash vs H match in the future I'd bet.

Well I would've preferred to see this match at a later date but I personally do prefer it from a technical standpoint over Punk/Nash. As a Punk mark, I'd like to see Punk come out on top but the added stipulation of HHH stepping down as COO if he loses makes me think that Punk will lose the match. I foresee Nash somehow getting involved and furthering Punk's feud with him and the powers that be.

Punk has lost so much of his momentum. He went from arguably being the hottest commodity in the business for two months to quite possibly the worst thing in the company, and this feud is doing it right here. And the sad part is, it's not because he's getting buried (though I have no high hopes for him going over at NOC), it's because his promos have been nothing short of bad.

They're same damn thing over and over again, sprinkled with a bunch of insider terms or ancient history or stuff that people either have no idea about, have heard before, or just plain don't care. Before Summerslam he actually felt like a guy advocating change. After he just feels like a douche who just wants to piss off the boss to see how much he can get away with. Seriously, from a kayfabe standpoint Kofi/Evan and Beth/Natalya are causing more change than Punk is.

I thought that they were trying to turn Punk into a next generation Austin and trying to turn HHH into the new Vince, and that their feud would be exactly like Austin & Vince's feud

The problem with that is readily apparent in the fact that Tripe H really hasn't done anything to warrant getting his ass beat. The Austin/McMahin feud worked because 1. the general public at the time was at a very anti-authoritarian stage, and since Vince was the boss people just didn't like by principal, and 2. People legitimately wanted Vince to get his ass beat after Montreal. As time went on and Vince did more and more despicable things, that just fueled the fire.

The only things Trips has done that could warrant the crowd going against him right now are his being married to Steph and actually getting physically aggressive with Punk, and the whole Steph thing has been done by everybody before, even Trips himself, and after Punk basically insulted his family week in and week out, are we really supposed to feel that he isn't justified in wanting to smakc him around a bit?

Agree with reptile,I'm not one of those who support someone cause they are hot and then something happens I drop them, I still like Punk very much so, but his promos although fine, are getting a bit overboard with the inside stuff and too much insulting. He looked like a freaking God trying to change the company and now its all about CM Punk testing Triple H's patience, for what?

Plus I think its dumb to put someone you want to be a face agaisnt freaking Triple H who is a face and loved by many, so it will be basically a battle between the kids who prolly dont understand a thing Punk says , so they will cheer Triple H and the hardcore CM punk fans, and the casual fans who just go there and cheer what they like whatever.
Dunno this whole feud is a mess, they try to be edgy and it turned out a mess.
Dunno if its just the crowds but for some time now, fans dont seem to care all that much about this feud.

Ok I moved this, sorry about the new thread for it.

CM PUNK heel turn?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok after watching the faceoff between HHH/Punk, especially the end it just occured to me that Punk is turning heel. Not just because he gave HHH a cheap shot with the microphone but because I feel somebody in the back, probably Johnny Ace was turning off Punk's microphone to distract HHH. Also, Punk's smirk walking up the ramp was very heel like as well.

The exchange itself also got me thinking this way as well, mainly because of how much the crowd was brought up. IMO Punk is trying way to hard to get the crowd on his side and yes tonight it did work as he clearly outpopped the game. However, I feel based on the cheap shot, the smirk and the microphone issue that Punk is going to turn heel again on Sunday with help from Johnny Ace and possibly Kevin Nash. Nash doesn't make sense helping Punk, other then to get revenge on Hunter for firing him. This will lead to HHH losing his COO job and becoming a vengeful sychotic face trying to fight off the new powers that be.

In closing, I hope it's the other way around, I like Punk in his current role and would like HHH to go heel but I just dont see it playing out that way because HHH is to respected by the fans at this point!

i disagree here, i do agree in the sense he's lost some momentum, but when you think about it, what is everybody talking about when they talk about WWE? CM Punk and Triple H from my experience. All that's happened is they've taken him down a different route which will most likely end up back to Cena. Cena has taken the shortcuts back to a championship match whereas Punk is following the marked roads, and I know which I'm preffering at the minute

I can't see Punk winning here if it means Triple H looses his COO spot (since it a role that needs to go over also). However Punk is red hot so anything short of a screwy win for Triple H is not a good idea if they want to keep Punk in the limelight. I see two possibilities here:

1. Kevin Nash interfeares on behalf on Triple H giving Hunter the victory. With Nash allowing Triple H to keep his COO job Nash uses this to convince Triple H to reinstate Nash.

or

2. Nash and Johnny Ace interfeares on behalf of Triple H turning Triple H and forming some sort of alliance.

or

3. Nash, Vince, and Johnny Ace interfeares on behalf of Punk causing some strange controvery.

This match has so much potential to be overbooked to the max. Prediction; Kevin Nash, X-Pac, Vince McMahon, Johnny Ace, Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, Zack Ryder and CM Punk himself all come out to kick the shit out of CM Punk. Wait, this isn't TNA. But seriously though, I highly expect some type of swerve here and some interference from Kevin Nash or some shit. CM Punk losing here doesn't mean he's being burried, it means Triple H can continue being the COO and hopefully make this feud more interesting. This match should be fun, but for the love of god, I hope Triple H kicks the living shit out of CM Punk. Markiness aside, Punk is getting on my goddamn nerves. A few years ago, Triple H would've crippled Punk by now leaving him in a pool of blood before he could even say Stephanie McMahon. Triple H wins.

Hamler's Prediction - Triple H will win here.

I think it has flown under the radar how great this match may be. Trips has put on some of the all time best no dq matches, and will be working with one of the best all-rounders in the game on this one. High potential for MOTY discussion ( I mean if were to do a top ten)

Not sure which way we go here. Trips is good as the authority figure, and the dichotomy with Laurenitus has been good....but then again, they can supremely put Punk over with this.

Either way, should be a great one.

Would love to see someone get involved and cause HHH to lose (maybe taker) then find out Steph was behind it because she was jealous of her husband being put in charge of her company.

I don't think it's a shoe in that HHH wins but hope it's not to get Vince back on tv already...

Punk should win since Triple H isn't a full time competitor anymore but my guess is Nash interferes and fuels the conspiracy storyline with he, HHH, and Punk. The Game wins in shady fashion.

I find it ironic that at a show where every title is on the line, the one match that has received more attention than any other, is the one that is NOT for a championship. I'm just glad it won't be Nash VS Punk, that would have been awful and definitely my pick for the match where I check facebook or go grab a snack. Nash has no reason to be in a match again. Trips putting his job as COO on the line is a nice touch, and I'm thinking that there will be some type of interference. Laurinaitis are not staying out of the match, he and Nash are working together in my opinion. CM Punk needs the win more than Trips does because a loss here could derail a large chunk of his momentum, but who would be the new COO? Punk? Laurinaitis? Nash!? The match itself will probably be good too, not the show stealer but not bad either. I see it being towards the top of the card. Perhaps Trips wins and then reveals he was working with Nash and Laurinaitis all along, in a conspiracy. Maybe we will finally find out who REALLY sent Nash that text message, if that even matters anymore. I'll go with that one, it's a tough call as just about anything could happen.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION
Triple H will defeat CM Punk.

Punk working with Trips would only be a good thing, this will be Punks best match of the year, then lets see if people still piss and moan about seeing Trips on tv..

I see punk trying to hit the GTS ( hopefully Pepsi Plunge ) and Trips counters then hits Pedigree, gets the 3 count. i can see this fued continuing over more then just one PPV i surely do hope so...

I'm not sure how this match is going to help CM Punk's current streak. It would look horrible if HHH were to lose this match to Punk so there's no way that HHH will lose but then Punk's momentum will drastically drop after another loss. This angle was already kind of confusing with Nash in it but now with Nash completely gone from WWE it kind of makes you wonder what's left for it. Vince will be back soon but I think HHH will win this match and will be COO for a couple more weeks.

Triple H will win, and there will be so much interference from outside forces that it will be ******ed.

Expect a Nash, Hall, Walman, Foley, Masters, Gallows, Kozlov, Melina, Kim, Vince, Steph, Shane, and Linda to all run in during this match.

So....when did Russo come back to Wwe with this crap of a match? And in my hometown. I don't get it. Its a typical Wcw ending. What a shock, Triple H beat punk. Nice job wwe, Welcome to instance 29273927392732 that they RUIN a good thing

WWE just shat on everything. I knew HHH wouldnt job to Punk.
There goes everything Punk has done.

WWE killed Del Rio's push(I could honestly care less about that) and they are killing Punk. Why would they do this?
Why couldnt it have a dirty finish? HHH go heel and align with Johnny Ace and Nash?
I just feel this way. My head hurts and im sick of this, im not looking forward to Raw tomorrow with the regular status quo.

And this is my first monday night off in a long time. And THIS is what I have to look forward to. It sucks in alot of ways.

I know there will be people that will say ''It just hapened, give it some time'', and with EACH person that says that, I say, How many times do I need to ''give it time'', till Wwe is consistent, and not on the same level they were a year before, with the same crap.

And waiting for the "Punk got buried!" crap to come out.

This was not Punk getting buried. What Triple H did to Booker T at Wrestlemania was someone getting buried. Up until the clusterfuck started Punk actually had the edge in this match. Hell, the fact that Punk actually kicked out of the Pedigree was pretty much the go to sign that Punk is not getting buried, considering that I remember a meme going around a while back that you needed written permission from Trips himself to kick out of it.

... That being said, considering the fact Cena is champ once again after a goddam month and Kelly is still Diva's champion, yeah, I'm still gonna have to say What the Hell WWE?
