MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

Who the fuck am I kidding. Jones vs Lesnar, if possible, has to be next. Would be the biggest fight in UFC history.

Bisping vs. GSP is back on.

Dana switched it from Welterweight Champion vs. GSP during round 5 because the fight sucked so badly.

Bad knee (I think) so he's on the sideline for a little bit. Hurt it during the fight. Makes sense for Bisping to fight again even if it wasn't GSP.

Yeah Dana said he's now getting the winner of GSP vs Bisping

I dont follow everything too well, I kinda just get by knowing who is good/a big draw, so I'm assuming GSP will move up in weight and go to middleweight now and fight Bisping for the middleweight title and then the winner of that will then go and face Whittaker to unify the titles?

This is why interim titles are fucking stupid

I don't know a lot about MMA, but isn't Lesnar just too big for Jones (even if he puts on enough weight to jump up)? It just seems to me that if Jones can't knock him out in the first, oh, ten seconds, he's dead, no? Again, not an MMA expert.

I'm pretty sure Jones walks around at heavier than light heavyweight so, while it's blatant stunt matchmaking, it's not quite as ludicrous as, say, Mayweather/McGregor.

I think it's more likely to be the exact opposite. Lesnar wouldn't win a single round against Jon Jones. Jones is 10 years younger, he's faster, more skilled in a variety of fighting styles and would yet again have a reach advantage. Jones is a far better striker than Brock so that would force Lesnar to the ground. Jones has submitted top level guys before and his submission game is better than Lesnar's defense.

I don't think Lesnar can takedown Jones at all. I'd put money on Jones finishing Lesnar in the fourth and I don't think it would be a close fight at all.

^ Pretty much this. According to Tapology Jones has a 3 1/2 inch reach advantage over Lesnar. I simply see Jones using his reach to establish the jab to keep Lesnar from getting in close. Then when the occasion occurs that Lesnar does get close enough I simply see Jones using his foot work to circle around and get out of harms way. I see the fight going in a way similar to Holm vs Rousey where Holm did the same thing to keep away from the takedown. Though if Lesnar does get the takedown I wouldn't be surprised if he's simply able to muscle his way out of Jones' guard and get the win that way.

Chael says his next opponent is likely Chuck Liddell.

Been rumours about Liddell fighting in Bellator lately. Such a sad thing to see.

LOL Jon Jones.

Hey man! Everyone deserves a 39th chance !

What the fuck?

I have no words. Jon Jones has been stripped of a World Title three times now.

Edit: People are saying steroids but Helwani said this on twitter, "UFC confirms Jones has been flagged by USADA. "Provisional suspension," per USADA. No disclosure of what the substance was right now."

Edit2: 2-4 year ban possibly on the table depending on what he tested positive for.

So.....career over right?

Also can someone send Cormier some flowers or something? Even if he gets the title back, he's still the guy couldn't beat Jones.

Fuuuuck, they were trying to book Miocic vs. Jones for the Heavyweight Title in Detroit until the news broke.

Damn it! And we're probably going to have to deal with DC as champion, again! Hopefully Gus goes full viking mode and saves us.

Edit: Statement from team Jones.

We are all at a complete loss for words right now. Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation. We are having the samples tested again to determine the validity or source of contamination. Jon is crushed by this news and we are doing whatever we can as a team, to support him.

With this happening, and Connor set to be totally embarrassed on Saturday, the UFC has huge problems going into the future.

Poor Cormier, both his losses vs a roided Jones. No respect for that fucker. All the talent in the world but wants to take the bitch way out. Fuck Jones

Jones did cocaine out of competition before the first DC fight. No evidence of performance enhancing drugs until now. DC's first loss still counts.

But how many other times has he been juicing and not gotten caught? One failed test can taint your entire legacy.

Or he never used anything previously.

People got caught for drugs before the big change in testing was implemented. This rewriting of history has to stop. I'm going down with this ship, fuckers!
