Agreed, but Scherzer was pitching fine, why fuck with something that was working. He threw 31 in 1.1, but he had no problems whatsoever. Let Scherzer finish the inning.30 pitches from Scherzer in 1.1 is not good control. Benoit fielding was his bad but Leyland can't know Benoit is going to fuck up a fielding play.
Agreed. The Pen finally did its job, although they did (again) make it too close for comfort.Fact remains the Tigers pitching held the Yankees to 2 runs through 8 and held the lead for the closer. That's all you can ask for.
So what you're saying is that the Tigers Bullpen has been good all postseason. If you are, then you're delusional. I'm not saying they shouldn't have gone to Valverde, but if they tied it in the 7th, you're calling Leyland a moron for putting in someone that was ineffective. That's why Jim Leyland is the manager and not ST
At least the Yankees played in October, which is more then anyone can say for the "greatest team of all time" 2011 Boston Red Sox, who won a whopping 90 games.YES YES YES FUCK YES FUCK YES. HE GONE. HAHAHAHA. FUCK YOU YANKEES.
I'm sorry, 9 games on September 3, 2011?
again, no, they don't. The Yankees had the best record in the AL, and made the playoffs.Doesn't matter you now share the same feeling as us.

You've kept saying that the Pen has been good, which is why I kept saying it really hadn't been. When the fuck did I say anything close to that? All I've been getting at is that Jim Leyland has been a MLB manager for 20 years. He knows his team and his bullpen better then anyone. He sure as fuck knows what he's doing more then you. You said it was a bad move but the end result shows otherwise.
You've kept saying that the Pen has been good, which is why I kept saying it really hadn't been.
And I love Leyland. But if Benoit walked one more batter, or one of them made contact in the 7th, or if Jeters ball went out in the 8th, you'd be killing him for putting in Benoit. The only thing I'm saying is why take out a guy when he's pitching damn good?
Leyland took a chance, and it got really close to not working. Lucky for him the Yankees didn't take advantage of the numerous chances they had. It happens.
Now Cc opt out of your contract and come to Boston we won't over extend your innings.
Yeah and take a paycheck half of what the yankees will offer him, and go to an old team with a soon to be new manager and a team who are now on Cubs level of embarresment for blowing a 9 game lead. Yeah CC you go for that!
Delmon Young out with an injury to his side. Ryan Rayburn in Left Field now.
Scherzer still in for the 7th before the 2 Tigers guys that have not been that scary this postseason.
BAD, BAD, BAD move by Leyland. He just pulled his best pitcher he had left for a suspect bullpen. Scherzer should have closed this game out for him.
The pen has been bad all series, not just last inning. And Scherzer is still the best option.
Benoit wasn't good at all, he allowed 3 baserunners and an inherited runner to score. Scherzer. Now he needs to go another inning, Valverde (who has not been good at all either) has to go 2, or they have to go to some other guy for one, since Benoit probably can't go a second inning now.
Scherzer could have very easily gone 50-60 innings and then pitch games 3-7 if they go to the ALCS. Now his season could very well be over thanks to a shaky Pen.

Just to update the story, Nova has a Grade 1 Flexor Strain of his right Forearm, which is an injury that would normally put pitchers on the DL.I see what your saying but I disagree I think giradi didn't want nova to face the top of the order again. When you have Cc and Hughes in the bullpen it shouldn't matter how long the starter goes. I never said giradi was a dumbass but he's a big numbers guy. Quick inning for Mo.

So again, no, Girardi didn't make a panic move, he made a health move. Pulling Nova was never a numbers move, as the numbers didn't favor doing that.
