Yes. I love Lee too much to see him go to the raging ******ry that is the Yankees. Mets I'm fine with. Or any of the other 29 teams (staying out of the AL Central would be nice as well). Just not NY. Maybe Boston can give them a run for their money.
I hope, at least.
So you don't like the Yankees (because of the money they spend), but want him to go to BOSTON or the METS (who much like the Yankees overspend and overspend). A bit hypocritical, don't you think?Yes. And it's either the Yankees or Rangers. Yankees will offer the most money, and he's good friends with CC, but maybe he stays in Texas.
I don't like the Yankees because it's the Yankees. The Mets are in the opposite league so I wouldn't care much about them and I'm quite partial to the Red Sox. One of my favorite teams in the league.
With a WS win, I could see Texas going all out to get him. Sell the farm and everything. He deserves it.
You want a reason(s):
A) Majority of their fans are either bandwagoners or douchbags (can be said about most teams (except for the Pirates)) but these seem to be fans only because they win.
B) They can pretty much buy any guy they want. A-Rod makes as much as the Padres did this year, I believe. That's fucking ridiculous. No way should it be like that.
C) I prefer Boston teams. I like the Red Sox, Pats, and Celtics (don't care much for hockey outside of the Wings). So naturally I'm gonna be against NY, even if I'm a Detroit sports fan through and through.
So there's your reasons.
1. Jeter, Mo, and Vazquez are at the end of their deals. 2 of the 3 are coming back, and you can take a wild guess which one is gone (hint: it's Vazquez). However, Mo might get a cheaper deal, based on age, and Jeet will get a lifetime contract of sorts, in which his number might be less then it was before.Yeah, their Injuries this year didn't help them at all this season either.
How's the payroll gonna look for them? Any big names coming off the market? They gonna go after Werth or Crawford or Lee or what? I'd probably go for a top of the line pitcher if I was them, which is obviously Lee. If they could make a deal for Greinke, I'd have no problem with it either.
