???? What slide?Sick slide!!
I realized it about 20 seconds after posting. After losing 1 All-Star first baseman, the Yankees can't afford to lose their backup All-Star First Baseman. He fell and slid
Sick slide = sarcasm
He was, to paraphrase Chris Jericho, The Best In The World At What He Did. No doubt about it. The Yankees, when replacing him, tell people that they need to do it like he did, that's how important he was.Sheppard is a legend!
yeah, but not the end of the world. Still a 5-run lead, and Kerry Wood coming in (probably). Wood's been beast all season for the Bombers. Might have been the single best pickup by the team all year.Would've been nice to see them get 1 run out of that.
4 run lead, my bad. Thought it was still 6-1.ST how is it a 5 run lead?![]()

Agreed. And really both could have been had by anyone. Thames was a non-roster invite to Spring Training, and Wood is only getting 1.5 million from the Yanks (the Indians are picking up the rest of his remaining contract).I have to agree with that. Definitely between him and signing Thames.
2nd time Wood picked a guy off this postseason.Picked off!
Hughes was an All-Star, and is a VERY talented pitcher (considered at one point to have ace stuff). Pettitte is the winningest postseason pitcher of all the times, and has won the last 4 Yankee Postseason Series ending games.I made the mistake last night of thinking the Yankees had home field advantage so we're even. Damn, if only CC could play the rest of their games.
Game 7. He has NEVER pitched on Short Rest, I doubt they would risk it now, especially since he would be guaranteed to go in this series if need be. If the situation was reversed maybe he goes Game 6.Did they say if Lee will start game 6 or 7, providing the Yanks win this game?

A-Rod with a steal. People forget he can still steal bases.
