MLB Championship Series LD

you're right, but both Pettitte and Burnett are capable of going deep into games (yes, even Burnett who has been shit this yeah has ace stuff). And the CC start is an abberation, so you can't expect them the pen to keep getting so many innings, especially with the off day tomorrow.

And Texas used 5 pitchers in the 8th yesterday, so it's not like their pen is fresh.

Yes, but they also got Lee, who could probably go the distance if they wanted him too.

And I seriously doubt Burnett gets more then 5 IP. He's just been garbage and Texas has already hit around 2 pitchers better then him.

And CC hasn't looked good in either of his 2 postseason starts. Minny hit him pretty good, as did Texas. Yes, it was only two starts, but he's on right now.

I want the Yankees to win this series just for the chance to seek out revenge for last year, but I still can't find myself rooting them on. So it is a win-win for me for the ALCS. Phillies start soon, can't wait and it should be an epic pitching duel tonight.

You know with all the hype, I won't be surprised if this one ends like 7-5, or 9-8, with both pitchers going 5.

Gonna fucking miss Werth. Highly doubt he is back in Philly next season. Would love to chuck Ibanez and keep him, but he is gonna get a good chunk of change elsewhere.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP WERTH. The likely option is him ending up in Boston. I'd much rather see Werth in Philly then Boston. They should just open up their pockets and give him what he wants.

That may have been the Yankees best chance to scratch one by on Lee tonight. Just under 100, if he gets a quick 7th, I wouldn't be surprised if he went out for the 8th.

Pettitte has been almost as good as Lee, but that 1 pitch to Hamilton has cost him so far. He's been great since then, but with him already past 100, I doubt he gets past the 7th. Still a great outing, shame for the Yankees it's the same time the guy on the other side is just as dominant.

Watching Lee dominate is just so breathtaking. 11 K's. 2 Hits. Only 3 baserunners. Exactly why I think he's the best pitcher in the game right now (since 08 really). Not many guys can do what he's been doing today, and do it every time you're out on the mound.

Yeah, the Rangers could win out in NY and save Lee for game 1...

In a 1 game situation, I'd almost always take Lee over Halladay. Especially if it's in the postseason.

And watching the Yankees implode this 9th inning is :lmao:

No no. Nuff said.

Don Larsen had a perfect game. Doesn't mean I'd take him over Lee in a one and done situation.

And Lee is now 7-0 in 8 playoff starts. The guy is NEVER beaten around in the playoffs.

1 great game by Halladay doesn't trump the 8 great starts by Lee. Not even close.

Not gonna happen. Burnett has dominant stuff, and the Yanks will win game 4. Even if not, CC on normal rest (which he hasn't had since the end of the season) will be back to his dominant self, and same for Hughes. NY could EASILY be up 3-2 going into Game 6.

I'd rather they all get the shit outings out of the way in the 9th inning of a game they weren't winning, then any other situation. And once it got o 4, it didn't make a difference, so as I said let them get it out of their system. It's not like the Yankees had the lead by 5 in the 8th inning and gave it up or anything.

In the postseason I take Lee only because he's done it more regularly in the Postseason. ANY other time I take Doc, no questions asked. Doc is head and shoulders above him, and every other pitcher in baseball, and has been dominant for 6-8 years now. Lee was sent to the Minors in 2007 because he was shit.

:lmao: Krukie just torched the Yankees. Good stuff.
he's torched the Yankees all year, whether they deserved it or not. Whoop-dee-doo. Hell, he's torched them in years past too. They all do it, ESPN tells them too, because they're a part of Red Sox Nation.

They got beat by a dominant playoff pitcher. I don't see how that's worthy of torching.

Yep. Burnett has good stuff, when he's not shit. Too bad he is shit 90% of the time. And Texas has dominated the entire series so far. Take away the 1 inning, they've been outscored 20-3.

Lee then came back in 08 and won the Cy Young in dominating fashion. From 08 on, I want Lee on the mound. He just steps up the biggest when you need him to. Yeah, Doc's great, and it's pretty much 1A and 1B with them, to me. But the thing with Lee is he doesn't allow guys to even get on base, like ever. Today 3 guys got on base in 8 innings, and only 1 got past 1st. That's fucking domination.

My god, you won't get off Lee's dick will you? Halladay's the better pitcher, hands down. Phillies saw it, why can't you?

Because it's not hands down like you think it is. Do you know what Lee's done in his postseason career? 7-0 in 8 starts, with a sub 1.30 ERA. He had 13 K's today, 3rd most EVER against the Yankees in the postseason. What did Halladay do this last start? Right, he lost, to a Giants O that isn't even comparable to the Yankees.

Like I said, from 08-on, this guy has been a monster. I'd personally take Lee over Halladay.
