MLB Championship Series LD

Yep. Burnett has good stuff, when he's not shit. Too bad he is shit 90% of the time. And Texas has dominated the entire series so far. Take away the 1 inning, they've been outscored 20-3.
Or 52.4% of the time he's NOT shit. He's 110 and 100 for his career. And he has had success in the postseason to the tune of 7 innings, 1 run, 4 hits, 9 Ks in Game 2 of the 09 World Series, a game just as big as tomorrow Game 4 (ironically following a dominant Cliff Lee start). Don't say he can't do it.

Yeah, Texas dominated the series, except for 2 innings, but since those 2 innings were more important then the 7 before it, who cares. Again, after Burnett the Yankees pitchers are back on normal rest, so the results will be different.

Lee then came back in 08 and won the Cy Young in dominating fashion. From 08 on, I want Lee on the mound. He just steps up the biggest when you need him to. Yeah, Doc's great, and it's pretty much 1A and 1B with them, to me. But the thing with Lee is he doesn't allow guys to even get on base, like ever. Today 3 guys got on base in 8 innings, and only 1 got past 1st. That's fucking domination.
1. Yes, Lee ran away with the Cy Young in 08. Too Bad Halladay was runner up, and had just as good numbers, except for a shit team in Toronto.
2. He sure stepped up in August for the Rangers. 1-4 with a 6.35 ERA. That's dominant all right.
3. He was 6-9 for the Rangers with a 4 ERA. That's dominant.
4. You bring up baserunners in one game. Against the NLs best offense (Cincinnati), Roy Halladay allowed 1 runner to reach first all game. 1 runner on first >>>>>>>>>>3 runners, 1 in Scoring Position, 2 of which were base hits.

And in the Playoffs, I'd rather have Andy Pettitte, who has won 19 playoff games. Or Orlando Hernandez, who started his playoff career 8-0. OH, EL DUQUE IS THE GREATEST POSTSEASON PITCHER OF ALL TIME!!!!1!11!!!!!!!!ONE!!!!! As you said, it's 1A and 1B, but you got the A and B wrong.

Shut up.

You want Halladay, that's awesome. I'll take Lee every time, and it's not just because of his domination over NY. Sure, that's always an influence, but I just love watching the guy work. He's as close to unhittable as you can get, week in, week out.

And I'm quite sure I don't just focus on those three things. Apparently you don't read enough of my posts, but that's fine. It's an internet forum. I'm not butthurt.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, Blue.

And I always love a Stormtrooper blowup. Always gives me a laugh. Too bad I have to sleep.

Blowup? That's funny, nowhere did I see a blowup. More like a "your points are incorrect or invalid, I'm going to correct you." No blowup here. Last time I blew up you made a Cage hate-thread about me that became a Cage Love-thread.

If you wanna do it again, go right ahead. Hell, just bump the old one. Here it is.

The past two years (with NY) he hasn't been that good in the season. Last year, +4 ERA and a WHIP North of 1.4. This year, +5 ERA and WHIP North of 1.5. Mark Prior has a 59 win % in 106 starts, yet everyone knows how that goes. And that was 1 start he had that you mentioned. How about the 5.27 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP that he had total in those 27 innings? Jeremy Bonderman had 1 great start against the Yankees in the 06 playoffs, but people don't talk about how 'dominating' his stuff is.

1. Yes, Lee ran away with the Cy Young in 08. Too Bad Halladay was runner up, and had just as good numbers, except for a shit team in Toronto.

What team a guy on is irrelevant. Besides, the Blue Jays had a BETTER record then the Indians, so Lee did what he did on an even WORSE team. Lee was better in 08, otherwise he wouldn't have run away with the award.

2. He sure stepped up in August for the Rangers. 1-4 with a 6.35 ERA. That's dominant all right.
3. He was 6-9 for the Rangers with a 4 ERA. That's dominant.

That's because he was injured. How about you look at his September after he had 11 days of rest, where he had 3 games of 7+ innings and a total of 6 ER in those starts. Lee wasn't healthy, and it showed. Once he got to re-energize himself, he was how everyone expected him to be: great. And he's continued that on into the postseason, with all 3 starts having 10+ K's and 14 total baserunners in 24 innings.

4. You bring up baserunners in one game. Against the NLs best offense (Cincinnati), Roy Halladay allowed 1 runner to reach first all game. 1 runner on first >>>>>>>>>>3 runners, 1 in Scoring Position, 2 of which were base hits.

I never said his performance wasn't great, it was. But how about his second start on Saturday. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great. Lee's had 1 bad start (Gm 5 against NY last year). If Halladay can continue to pitch like he did in the no hitter, which is highly unlikely, then I'd switch my opinion. The one start >/> Lee's 7 (excluding the other NY game), since it's still only that, 1 game.

Pettitte still has a 3.83 ERA + 1.304 WHIP, which, is good, but certainly not what Lee's done. Even if you judge by only his first 8 starts, he had 32 ER in 50 2/3 IP, which is an avg of .63 R/IP. Lee has 9 ER in 64 1/3 IP, which is an avg of .14 R/IP. El Duque had 8 ER in 62 IP (through 1st 8 starts) which is .13, hairs better. But, the starts after he tailed off. So no. Take Pettitte or El Duque, but, just like last night, you'll end up losing going against Lee.

Blowup? That's funny, nowhere did I see a blowup. More like a "your points are incorrect or invalid, I'm going to correct you."

You should probably take your own advice here and shut up. You've proved nothing, except that Halladay has had 1 great start which has been better then Lee's 8, although they've all been pretty damn good (aside from 1). And I'll take all of Lee's 8 starts over Doc's 1, since that 1 was only in Game 1 of the NLDS, while Lee's has been in all 3 spots.

OMG. Let it just fucking die. The only thing worse than a know it all Yankees fan, is a know it all Yankees hater. Go make a thread in the Stadium and argue in there. I don't want to see this shit in every single sports thread in the spam zone.

No, I'm fine. I've said my piece.

Just realized game 3 is going. Don't like the 4 PM start time, but I understand why.

Cain just got out of a two runner jam. 0-0 bottom 4.

Haha. This series has just increased my hatred for him. Hated back when he'd beat us in Florida. He needs to go to the AL so we rarely have to play him lol.

Fucking Eh my dudes. Start freaking getting on base.

I never knew his stats against the Phillies until this series started. And he's been hot so far so I guess I could see why you might have some hate for the guy haha.

And Cain gets out of trouble again. He was definately the right guy to start Game 3 here at home.

Don't worry, I'm done with him. Sorry for clogging up threads about it. Won't happen again. That is until Mark Sanchez wins the NFL MVP and leads the Jets to the Super Bowl this year, and he still says the guy sucks (just kidding).

And apparently the Giants are winning again. I just checked on ESPN.com. My choices are watch the NLCS or be on the internet. I chose internet.

Did Cody Ross hit another dinger? If he did, then the Mets need to sign him ASAP (I have no clue what position he plays, but they need a guy that can beat the Phillies).

No not another HR but an RBI single. And he's not leaving the Giants, he's staying next season with what will be the defending champs.

Giants Pitching > Phillies Offense. Again, a lot of people underrated the Giants staff, but we have the best staff in baseball. Wilson coming up in top of 9th to close the show.

Um, weren't the Yankees shut out last night? You better wait until they get their shit together before fixing shit. If it weren't for the Rangers bullpen in Game 1 you would be staring at a sweep right now.
You're one to talk. You already crowned the Giants champs. They still need to win 6 more games (if they win today) to do that. Besides, the Yankees are only down 2-1. They aren't out of it yet. Hell, they still have a (pretty decent) chance to not have to face Cliff Lee again. As I've previously said, the Starting Pitchers are finally pitching on normal rest, which will help them. And as good as CJ Wilson was/is, I'd take CC over him any day of the week. If the Yankees win tonight (very possible), they could be up 3-2 easily.
