*Merged* The Miz Is The New WWE Champion.

It's way too soon for the Miz's title reign...This will be another Swagger-esque title reign where nobody barely remembers it a year from now. Miz seriously needs a new finisher though...The SCF has to be one of the worst finishers of all time. It just looks pathetic. I'm sure the smarks will be jizzing themselves to death over this one for some reason. The MITB has made the value of the world titles even less imo. Miz is great on the mic but still needs to get a LOT better in the ring to be taken seriously as a real champ.

I disagree about Miz's title reign. Miz has charisma, he knows how to get the audience to hate him perfectly. I think Miz could use a few more offensive moves in his matches. I like the SCF because it looks like a straight drop to the head with no arm blockage. I feel he will only be a successful Champion as a heel though. I think that's helped him evolve his character. I'm not a HUGE Miz mark, but I do love his heel roll.

About Swagger, however, he has no mic skills AT ALL. He is/was a laughing stock on the mic because of his "lisp" in my opinion, and the fact he's too monotone. People didn't take him seriously. I couldn't. I do feel as if at times if you're going to play a heel, you need to have solid promos. Not that it takes away from his in ring abilities. I do however feel he's a watered down version of Kurt Angle since taking over the Ankle Lock. Kurt Angle unlike Swagger has spunk. He was sat in perfect angles, matches that were equipped for his caliber. Swagger has yet to find that, but could be a blame on the WWE for it too.

Don't get me wrong, I like Swagger, I just don't enjoy his promos and that in my opinion is what made him a lackluster champion. Although I will say Swagger does have this goofy look to him. Sometimes when he gives a certain face all I can think is he's going "Durrrr" Anyway, maybe in the future if WWE can pull their head out of their ass maybe they can find a way to promote Swagger as more of a fierce competitor that could be World Champion material. It can be done, look what it did for Kane. Everyone can remember when he turned out to be a joke at times. Let's not talk about the "Kane-a-rooni" and the never forgotten Katie Vick :banghead:

I will say that tonight's Raw was one of the best I have seen in months, maybe years. I love KOTR. Always have been a big fan of elimination tournaments. I hope they're doing the RAW and Smackdown sides to where the finalist from each brand face each other at the end to declare the next KOTR. Seeing CM Punk doing commentary made RAW more fun to watch in a way. I can't stand this woman's NXT, but I wish I would have watched the ones with him doing commentary. I like how he clowns on the divas, and I wish I could tell him how much I agree that Eve CANNOT dance, and that the Bellas are in fact average looking. I KNEW he was going to throw those shots at Alex Riley and boy did he deliver.

I know many people may say DiBiase can't hold a mic himself, and while I may agree, I do hope they can give him some sort of push down the road. Maybe give him a couple upset wins and see what can go on from there.

I knew Cena would have some sort of run in during the main event but I did NOT expect Miz to cash in the title. I was pleased to see it though, considering it's not often do you see a major title change on RAW. It was definitely a curveball but I was wondering what they were going to do with their last 5 minutes of the show.

im so happy he finally cashed in and im exicited like everyone else, but the one thing i cant believe people are saying is.....................that they were suprised when he came out, um AND I QUOTE............REALLY ? they telegraphed this a mile away when riley came out and said he had an anxiety attack, maybe im just feeling smart tonight but they gave away this cash in to say he had an anxiety attack, they could have hid it a little better, but this is still freakin AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!

oh and btw kudos to the guy who said dont let riley drive him home lol

Wow... Congrats to the Miz. Good timing too, following Cena's "firing." Maybe Chris Jericho or Triple H will now step up and be the face of Raw with Orton possibly selling his injuries. I mean, who the fuck else can they get in there right now? They're losing everybody if the Miz is now the champ. Yeah, he's good on the stick, but he's still a little young, IMO.

I seriously doubt we're in store for another "Swagger reign" here. Creative learned their lesson with that and the only way that's going to happen is if Miz totally fucks up somehow and they don't think he's capable, which I don't see happening at all. They are very high on him and Vince loves the guy. Apologies to the detractors, but he's holding onto it for a few months with some legit defenses.

I have to add that the shots of the crowd were fucking epic, particularly that one little girl who looked like flames were going to shoot out of her eyes. Seriously, I pointed and laughed at that.

46 members and 695 guests...and there are already 8 pages filled with praise or scorn for The Miz. Isn't that awesome?

No, I mean it. Here we are still culture shocked at an exceptional RAW tonight and every single one of you are here to talk about The Awesome One. Whether you love him or hate him, he sure as hell caught your attention. And that's why he is on top.

He deserves it too. I expect major things from him. People bickering about how he will be a transititional champion are the same ones that called The Miz the "Marty Jannety" of The Dirt Sheet team. He has been on a role ever since becoming runner up of Tough Enough years back. I still expect him to be on top after this shocker and he is a character that I would pay to watch.

I was a fan again at the end....i cant lie i marked out hearing Miz's music but started to worry bout him being the first mitb loser...but to not...and thank god! WWE is AWESOME again!.....but here a thought now...i know some people saw him winning royal rumble and using both to become undisputed champion..now will they combine the shows?

When Nexus attacked Orton and the main event began I looked at my dad and said "Expect Cena to run in soon, but I have this weird feeling Miz cashes in tonight."
Sure enough it happened! And when Miz came out my dad laughed and i marked the fuck out!!!!!!

Congrats Miz! You truly are.........
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Once again WWE leaves me very underwhelmed. After that great speech and hugging Orton in the back, if Cena had come back during the main event and screwed Orton out of the belt and then celebrated with Barrett... that would have been the greatest moment of the PG era by far. Once again WWE screwed the pooch and wasted a perfect chance to turn Cena heel. They just keep doing the same old cookie cutter stuff again and again.

Nobody cares about Miz, on the other hand Barrett is drawing so much heat now that it would have been perfect to put the belt on him. It pains me to see what WWE has become. Just the same old same old stuff every night.

as far as comparing Jack Swagger and The Miz, there's a difference. Miz held the case for a while then cashed it in, Swagger cashed it in very quickly. The Miz (while not having the best in-ring skills) does have a personality and character that fans HATE. did you see the camera shots on some of the fans?? they looked angry, Swagger (while having good in ring skills) didnt have that personality that people liked, maybe it's his lisp or maybe it's wwe or maybe it's him, i dont know, but Miz has the character, he will feud with Orton for a bit and it should be entertaining.

I have to say I was pretty shocked at the ending. But it seems logical, but I just don't get why everybody loves the Miz. He is upper mid card at best his promos make me fall asleep, and I agree with others on here that he needs a new finisher. This was a definet waste of MITB cash in. I really thought that Miz would be the first to lose. I'm pretty upset at the outcome and I'm not really looking forward to his reign. It's more likely gonna be just a one month reign and to me that's bs. I do agree that Barrett was not ready for the top spot but the Miz...really...no he ain't ready either. I always saw him as a guy who is an upper mid card/ chaser of the title. Not an actual holder of the top belt. Christian, if he was healthy, deserves a shot at one of the top titles more than the Miz. But whatever it is what it is and I guess I will have to deal with another boring short heel reign.

have to agree this was by far the best Raw of the PG Era and possibley of all time...we will see more than a 5-6 month reighn..im looking to a year at least,...

Not even close. Cena turning heel and helping Barrett win would have been a much much much better moment. The best moment of the PG era so far is Sheamus winning the title at TLC from Cena just months after his debut. The Miz cashing in and winning is beyond predictable.

And anyone who thinks Miz will hold the belt for a year is beyond delusional. He jusy lost 2 back to back ppv matches to Daniel Bryan even though he had help from Riley.

This. Whether you love or hate the Miz, you will tune in to find out what happens with his title reign. You know you have a budding star when he almost always evokes a reaction. I'll admit I'm a big fan of the dude, so I lost it when he cashed in the MITB, but equally important were the reactions of the fans who were pretty much speechless. The camera panned to a lot of really pissed people in the crowd. If Miz were really worthless, people would just be filing out, not standing there in disbelief at what had just happened. Everything about this night was masterfully executed and I can't wait to see what happens with this new era of sorts, as we're probably Cena-less for a month or two, the biggest heel is a dude who wasn't on TV a year ago, and the WWE Champion is the Miz.

I will admit that tonight was one of the best Monday nights I've seen in a really long time. With that said I can't believe that The Miz is the WWE Champion. I understand that he's pretty damn good on the mic as well as he works really hard for the company, but he hasn't put in much time at all. We've seen him try to main event raw and other shows and he just doesn't seem to perform to that level at all. I think that he could hold the belt for a short period as they take this time to get Triple H back into the mix before the push for Wrestlemania starts, but the is NO WAY he will main event Wrestlemania.

Looks like Smackdown is the A show now, because any show with Miz a champ is a joke:lmao:. He's not awesome in the ring and his mic skills are only slightly above average. Ill check back on Raw around Royal Rumble, he should have lost it by then.

Didn't think they were going to pull the trigger on Miz being champ so soon, but it actually makes perfect sense with Cena's departure for the moment. Love this move from the WWE, Orton was an okay champ but the belt wasn't doing anything for him. It can do a hell of a lot more with Miz now, and if booked right Miz could finally be cemented as a main event level heel, which is obviously the WWE's intentions with this move. Great fucking move, and I think all signs are pointing to a big money feud with The Miz and a returning John Cena, perhaps in time for Wrestlemania. That would be a great feud, fans would go crazy for that.

Can't wait to see the Miz era begin, first time I've been genuinely interested in an angle since the Summerslam Nexus blow-off.

I love when i see people claim they knew it was going to happen and it was boring and predictable. I seem to remember a large amount of people predicting the Miz would be the first to cash in and fail to win the title. Their really is no pleasing some, they put the belt on someone new it was predictable, they put it on the same people they always do it was predictable. I just don't get what people want to see, i guess since everything is so predictable and reused and boring their is no need to watch the show or even comment on it.

I watched the show live and on dvr afterwards and noticed that the referee counted three before cena pulled him out of the ring..I do not know how anyone did not notice this..my thought is that the Miz cashing in will not count if they choose to acknowledge what actually happened

I am ALWAYS happy when a title changes hands on Raw because most of the time, raw is simply too predictable. It's like fan service.

As far as the Miz goes, I can go either way with him because at the moment, he's not booked as a credible threat to... Anyone. Didn't Daniel Bryan just kick his ass a few weeks back? I like the Miz, but I forsee him losing during his first title defense. I just have that feeling. Either that, or he'll be the type of champ that Y2J was as undisputed champ- never as a credible title holder.

No more Eve calling him a frog- faced... Uh... Whatever she called him... Without him doing something about it. The Miz is the champ now. Time to let him act like it.

WWE really did it right this week, holding out on Miz cashing in his MITB case til monday was a great swerve. instead of having him cash it in at the PPV, do it on RAW so everyone can see. the shock value is great!

Personally I'm not the biggest Miz fan, but I think he's gonna make a real good heel champ for a few months. more then likely Orton will win it back 1st. before anyone else gets him.

on a side note: what I would have done to really mindfuck the WWE universe, is have Barrett win the belt after the brutal nexus attack, THEN have Miz cash in! I woulda been shocked by that happening.

Even though I'm more of a TNa or ROH fan, this was an incredible effort put forth by the WWE. Congrats! and Congrats to the Miz!! You're still a fucking weasel, but now you're a weasel with a world championship!!:)

I love that the MIZ is the WWE Champion! Did you see all those little kids faces!? Besides the fact that the Miz won I think it was the most straight up cash in ever. It was actually a mini-match and not an "ok imma hit my finisher and win" match. It was AWESOME!

I thought this was a great move. I didn't see it coming and I marked out a little. When it was announced that Randy Orton would have to defend against Barrett, I just had a feeling that a title change was going to happen tonight. I had a feeling that Cena would play a part in the match and I was wondering if he'd turn heel and wind up having Orton lose to Barrett, then he and Barrett embrace and claim next week that the whole thing was some elaborate plan. The way things came about tonight, however, was definitely the way to go.

I think it's a smart move and is the way to go with this. If the WWE is literally going to take Cena off television for a while, then it means that there's all that much more room at the top right now. The Miz has worked hard, he's one of the best young heels going right now and the crowd is into him. I think that SAMCRO said it best when he said that whether you love Miz or hate him, you're on here talking about him being the new champ and it's almost certainly happening on wrestling sites all over the net.

Now, of course there'll be those that will say that Miz will be a transitional champion. I don't think it'll turn out that way but I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't a concern. I think the WWE made a great move tonight and they can screw this up. I've seen Jack Swagger's name pop up and there are a few differences between Miz & Swagger. Swagger's win came out of nowhere and nobody expected it. Looking back now, I have to agree that it was a mistake. I was happy about it at the time, but I was wrong and, in my opinion, it was a bad call. However, the big difference is simply this: Before Swagger won the WHC just after WM, the WWE had spent an entire year burying the guy on Raw. The heat and momentum he'd built on ECW was eventually obliterated and Swagger just became a high profile jobber. However, in contrast, the WWE spent over a year building up The Miz. The Miz is someone that's spent the majority of 2010 as WWE United States Champion and simultaneously held the tag titles for a few months and wound up winning the MITB briefcase at the MITB ppv. Swagger was ice cold when he got his sudden push and Miz has been red hot almost from the point of winning the US title over a year ago.

did anyone see the ref make the 3 count before cena pulled him out??? If they acknowledge that fact, the Miz may be put on hold

I love the Miz so much. He's probably currently my favorite wrestler in the WWE. I marked out so hard for this win. I'll probably keep this Raw on my DVR forever...

But there is some serious work to be put in if he's to become a credible WWE champion. He's been booked pretty awfully ever since winning the Money in the bank. I understand you had to get the tag/US titles off of him, but he barely defended either of them. Daniel Bryan has been smacking him around pretty consistently, even with Alex Riley interfering.

He can become a legit champion. He currently isn't.

i was pretty sure this was going to happen tonite. i do enjoy the miz ( i am not a miz mark) i think he is great on the mic, probably second to mr. anderson right now. i agree with most of the people that he is average in the ring, i think his finisher is okay although i dont like the name. sometimes vince rewards people for working there ass off and i think the miz has. i thought he was terrible the first time i saw him. i hope he has a decent title run, i think he is starting to get over even as a heel. i prefer seeing the belt on anybody but orton/cena. i dont think they need the belt, they r already established enough. cena is going to sell merch whether he has the belt or not. im happy with raw's ending tonite and i like seeing the belt on younger wrestlers, taker and hhh cant carry the company forever.

This was the best episode of RAW, or at least the most memorable, since the attitude era, no question about it. The way that WWE did everything tonight was absolutely perfect. In hindsight, it's really easy to say how easy it was to see The Miz cashing in the MITB tonight, but I can't say I agree. With everything going on surrounding King of the Ring, CM Punk joining the broadcast team, the John Cena promo, and the Barrett vs. Orton match, I can't say that I agree. And that is what has made it perfect. They did just enough to make you forget about his "anxiety" attack or the promo he cut last night at Survivor Series about being tired of carrying around that briefcase.

As the Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton match was beginning, I kept expecting a John Cena heel turn. I kept thinking with the way they had him deliver that speech and say his goodbyes that it would be absolutely perfect. Nobody would have seen it coming. I mean imagine if after Cena pulled the ref out of the ring, he would have put Barrett up on his shoulders for the A.A, then put him down and takes off his shirt revealing a Nexus shirt, then takes out Orton to secure the win and the title for Barrett. It would have been the most shocking heel turn in the history of professional wrestling. Unfortunately it didn't happen, but what did end up happening was almost as good.

I don't think The Miz holds the title beyond the Royal Rumble, but this isn't going to be a one and done deal either. The Miz is here to stay. And for all of the TNA marks out there, look at the heavyweight division in the WWE and tell me that TNA is still good. I mean The Miz, Sheamus, and Wade Barrett have all basically hit their stride in the last year and are bigger than anything going on in TNA. Throw in John Cena, Randy Orton, and a soon to be returning Triple H, and it's hard to believe that TNA is still in business.
