Well after reading on the main page that WWE are fine with running this guest host thing for as long as they can pull decent celebs it got me thinking, what if they got Stone Cold one week ?

Now i think this situation could be done, i dont think Austin is filming any movies at the moment (could be rong?) and also he was previously a GM when he was full time with the company.

So what do use think ? Can this happen ? Will it happen ? What effect will it have on raw ?

I personally think it can happen, but weather or not it will happen is a 50/50 split. Austin had a kin of send off at WM, and im sure JR said somthing along the lines of "No one will forget the night Austins carrer began and no one will forget the night it finsihed". So would WWE bring him back for a guest host after maken it look like that was his final night ?

Discuss .....

Whats the point of having Austin, sure it would be cool but his character doesnt fit in to the PG era and well we saw him GM enough back in 2003, id like to see some old guys back and im not saying i wouldnt want to see Austin because i would but there are so many old guys who have been away and wont return, at least some shock value maybe

It is VERY likely. What about William Regal? He won King of The Ring then set up a career threatening match with Kennedy and he lost. Then he came back about 5 monthes later. And Ric Flair. We thought he was gone forever but no.And now Eugene is back...

I believe that if mainstream superstars and former professional wrestling stars are given the opporunity to get a quick fix of being involved in a live WWE show for a temporary period of time without risk of injury or career suicide, most of them wouldn't hesitate to jump at the bit.

Vince will do anything for ratings. The guest hosts for Raw are creating mainstream buzz and drawing in a different type of audience for the professional wrestling product. I see absolutely NO limitations as to who they could potentially bring in as a guest host. As long as there are enough zeros at the end of the paycheck, I can see stars like Hogan, Stone Cold, Flair, Bret Hart, and other legends taking the temporary position. (However, don't think for a second that any of there guys will come back on a permanent basis.)

The idea of having guest hosts on Raw is going to be very successful. It gives a chance to mainstream musicians, actors, sports figures, and other fans of professional wrestling an opportunity to live their dreams and be a significant part of the show for a night.

Every host they've had thus far has ben a fan of the WWE for years. We've all seen ZZ Top, Seth Green, and Shaquille O'Neil in the audience of live shows in the past. I believe that guests hosts are the WWE's way of saying "Thank you for all those years of your support."

First of all, if we're running with this guest host concept, then I'm fine with the Big Aristotle. He isn't trying to sell anything so he could be a heel GM for the night if he wants. I really hope they go that direction actually.

That said, I think the guest host concept runs its course sooner rather than later and the final guest host will turn out to be the full time commisioner. Whether that host is Stone Cold, the Million Dollar Man, Edge recovering from injury, or even Hulk Hogan, I couldn't tell you.

In the back of my head, I'm really hoping that we get a guest host appearance from Rocky. That would be the highest rated RAW in probably six or seven years if it happened. I would MTFU if it happened and so would every single person who complains that he 'abandoned' wrestling when he went to Hollywood. It would certainly be the most exciting thing to happen to RAW in years.

If I got to select 5 people to be a special guest host, I would choose the following:

1. Sacha Baron Cohen
- Because it would be one of the funniest WWE Raws in a very long time and him in a segment with Santino Marella would be hilarious.

2. Adam Sandler
- Because he is a real wrestling fan and he would be a good special host for Raw.

3. Rob Schneider
- Because another funny guy and who likes wrestling.

4. Snoop Dogg
- Because he would pick special diva's matches which have been real great for the past couple of weeks.

5. Ashton Kutcher
- Because he is very funny and would be silly as hell throughout Raw.

I've actually been enjoying the Guest Host idea so far, Batista and Ted DiBiase did a good job, and Seth was pretty good considering he'd never done anything like it before.

Then there's ZZ Top.

Let's just say that last night was the first true failure in the Guest Host era.

Every other guest host has played some kind of part in furthering the current storylines, all ZZ Top did was fool around with Santino. They didn't actually do anything other than pretend to play guitar. It was just embarrassing.

1. Bret Hart- It would be cool to see him on wwe tv again.

2. Pete Rose- He was a good heel at Mania 14 and likes wwe

3. Shawn Michaels- It would be a good way to start his return to the ring.

4. Stone Cold- He was a great gm and he would shake things up be funny and get huge pops.

5. Hulk Hogan- would be cool to see the biggest star ever back, he should be a guy who shows up at least a couple times a year

1. Sacha Baron Cohen-
That would be a decent idea actually, although it couldn't be the Bruno charachter, far to contraversial for the P.G rating & it couldn't be Borat because most of America is still pissed off at him. So ideally, he'd have to go with Ali G, the old Cena & him would have been immense together & any sketch with Santino, Cryme Time or Kofi would go down a storm.

2. Eric Bischoff-
O.K, I doubt this would ever happen, but just for sheer shock value, getting this prick back on WWE TV would be the bollocks!!!

3. Paul Heyman-
How about it? He'd make it into a one night only episode of ECW, they could use RVD as a one off, bring a load of the old guard in, get Dreamer off ECW for one night. It would be quality. He could make some of the crap on display look good (even if it was just for one night!)

4. Ted Danson-
Come on, he must have less money left than Chevy Chase!!! He needs the work & I'll watch Danson in anything for sheer comedy value, his Sam from Cheers charachter with the Diva's would be a showstealer!

5. Me!-
Come on, Vince did say it could be anyone, inc' the man on the street, so who better than me!?! I'd put a good show on without HHH, Cena etc & I'd make people see just how good the lower card guys are. There's so much wasted talent in WWE right now that it makes me sick!

IGN.com has revealed the guest host of Monday Night Raw, following Shaq. You can check out the article here:
http://tv.ign.com/articles/100/1006142p1.html

For those of you who want to skip the article, I'll just tell you. It's none other than the star of Entourage, Jeremy Piven.

I've never seen Entourage, but from what I've heard, it's a great show. I know from reading the Twitter accounts of some of WWE's superstars, that the show is very over amongst the guys in the locker room.
Personally, I have no attachment to this guest host, and all I can hope for is that he does a decent job. I will hope for somebody a little more close to me for the next week.
For those of you who do know the show, what are your thoughts on this?

All the wrestlers will be told to "hug it out bitches" hahahaha. This should be a good show he is a funny dude.

Piven is fucking hillarious !!!

I can see a bit with Santino Marella trying to get representation from Ari Gold !!!

Both Piven and Shaq's appearances should be epic. Both are funny dudes and have to be consdiered the best guest hosts the "E" have attained to this point.

I didn't consider Dibiase a guest host since he's a former wrestler and one of the best mic workers we've ever seen. Plus, he truly has a knowledge of the business where the other hosts have been thrown into the mix.

I'm Sorry but now thats 2 weeks of Raw im not watching. Im getting tired of this hostign thing and im tired of watching triple H John Cena vs. Legacy. Right now im enjoying smackdown as its been the best product right now and C.M. Punk vs. Jeff Hardy is been good and Rey Rey and Jericho have been putting good shows there. Im sorry to say this but Kane-Khali have been more enjoyable than anythign of Raw lately. I want to see Kofi vs. Jack Swagger for U.S. Title to main event Raw :(

.....who?........star of what?

....I'm out of the loop lol.

No interest in this what so ever.....didn't like ZZ Top as hosts.....don't wanna see Shaq there (though it'll be nice to see him go nose to nose with Bigshow as he most likely will) and i don't want this guy either.

I want either "wrestling guys" or an actual GM.....i'm sick of these celebrities stealing the spotlight.

And what happened the other week to Cody Rhodes saying his dad was going to be the host "next week" when later that day it was announced that it would be ZZ Top?

I mean seriously.

Everyone who has a problem with this, kindly shut your faceholes.

I marked out BIG FUCKING TIME when I read that, I'm a huge fan of Entourage and an even bigger fan of Jeremy Piven, dude is fucking GOLD and one of the most talented guys in all of Hollywood. He's got this charisma that just draws you into every single word he says like it's some of the most important shit you're ever gonna hear. He's absolutely hilarious as well.

Seriously, I haven't been this excited over a WWE TV show since I was like 8 years old. I'm AMPED for RAW in two weeks, it's going to be god damned epic. Best guest yet. And the fact that it's going to draw in Entourage fans and wrestling fans alike like myself is more than justification enough for this whole guest host thing. I don't understand why everyone is complaining about this, I'd rather have some celebrities to spice up the show than the same tired fucking RAW formula week-in and week-out. Some of you people will pick anything apart, we could have a Hulk Hogan-Stone Cold cage match and half of you would be on here calling it lame.

I understand where your coming from but for godsake i just want to watch wrestling. I watch WWE to watch guys like John Cena, Undertaker, C.M. Punk, Shawn Michaels and etc. If i wanted to see Seth Green ill just watch Austin Powers or Shaq, ill just watch an NBA game. If i wanna see Jeremy Piven, ill just watch Entourage. This guest host thing is good for once in a while. IDk every 3 months have some guest host but for every week have someone? IDK it makes things stale. Thats why i enjoying smackdown lately. Good matches and no celebritites invading the show.

Are they not wrestling on RAW? Last time I checked there was still plenty of wrestling. It's not like the guest hosts are taking up half the show with promos. All that's happening is instead of seeing a 15 minute Randy Orton promo, we're seeing a 10 minute Seth Green promo. I for one find that to be much more entertaining than Orton's same old shtick on the mic.

Besides, the guest hosts thing isn't for you. It's for people who don't normally watch wrestling. That's what the point of this is, to get people who don't normally watch wrestling to watch RAW to see a celebrity they like. Trying to win new fans for something you guys claim to love doesn't seem like it should be something that bothers you.

It makes things "stale"? It's the exact opposite of stale, it freshens things up. How is having celebrity hosts stale? It can't be any more stale than the same promo-match-promo routine RAW has used for nearly 17 years now.

I get you guys want to see wrestling. Watch Smackdown for that. RAW hasn't been about serious wrestling in years. RAW is about selling storylines and trying to grab big ratings, something that a wrestling-based show like Smackdown can't and doesn't do.

Tha's why right now Smackdown is the better show. I always liked Raw over Smackdown but now Smackdown is such a better show. I really hope this celebity crap ends. If raw cuts down time on some promos and cut the celebrity crap, they can add one more match or make a good midcard match longer.

I'm actually forward to both Shaq and Piven. Shaq has shown himself to be an actual WWE fan. I remember back in 2006, he was involved in a backstage segment where he hit Carlito with a steel chair lol. And in 2007, he was sitting at ringside and Cryme Tyme said wassup to him and stole his wallet. So it's gonna be interesting to see what he brings to the table. As for Piven, I've never heard of him being a fan. His character Ari is very funny and if he can pull some stuff like that on Raw with let's say Santino or Kelly Kelly, it'd make for interesting TV. So I'm gonna have to wait and see on him.

Can we get an A-Lister in this bitch?Shaq.:disappointed: Piven.:disappointed:. Bring some popular but not gay band there, and don't make it fucking awful like ZZ Top.Goddamn that was terrible.Absofuckinglutely terrible.

you cant really judge anything. to me it isnt stale because its showing non fans that even celebrities watch wrestling too. sure i would love to see a little more wrestling. i dont think the main event will be the same this week because they are gonna start concentrating on summerslam. i liked seth green because he was involved but then again i also liked zz top because they were not involved. my point is, right now you can not judge anything. who knows, maybe shaq will make things a little more interesting

Raw just keeps getting worse. ZZ Tops? really? Shaq? really does anyone give a shit about Shaq? maybe they should of got someone from the Lakers, you know seeing as they made the play offs, and well they won the play offs.

Piven? ugh dont get me started on this douche wad, yeah the show he's on is funny, but most of it being funny has nothing to do with him.

Who next? Fallout Boy? oh joy cant wait........

They need to bring in someone exciting, although I would rather it not be someone the likes of Austin, Hogan, Pipper, Flair, the Rock, or a not so older popular wrestler. Sure those guys would drive the ratings up, but in the long run it would hurt and already suffering product. Raw has been shit since before WM25, and it doesnt look to be getting any better

I'm not a big fan of Entourage, but I've seen enough episodes. I've also seen alot of Piven's shit (Cheeeeeese), so I'm kinda excited about this. Reason being, Piven has the voice, charisma and energy to get a audience going. I think this is 5 steps up than seth green. i mean seth green for chrissakes?! Shaq is good on the mic as well. IMO I think the whole celebrity thing is alright, as long as the celebs don't fight in a match (seth green that was horrible), and they stop putting cena trips or legacy in the main event.

I absolutely cant comprehend why everyone gets so spun up about this. It means practically nothing at all. Nothing. The hosts, do nothing. Be in a promo, announce a match, smile and wave a bit. It has almost no effect on the show whatsoever.

People say im mean for talking to everyone like they are idiots. People throwing toys out of the crib over shit like THIS proves I am entirely just in that.
