*MERGED* Jericho to throw in the towel?

If Jericho retires WWE loses another great guy. They almost cant effort to lose another main eventer. They allready lost HBK and Batista this year. Plus Jericho is still very entertaining. It would be great to see Y2J one more time. But if he wants to quit it is his choice.

I have already posted on this under the ppv section. I believe NOC will be Jericho's last match in the WWE. We all know his contract is running up and how the WWE put him on the shelf for his tv game show. I also noticed something else Jericho said you will never see Jericho in the WWE if he does not win the championship, what he didn't say was never again in Wrestling. I think it is possible that Jericho might head towards TNA for a lighter schedule so he has more time for Fozzy and the game show.

LOLTNA. Screw you Roger Goodell, I don't need the NFL! I have the AFL. Or CFL. LOL Laughable.

Jericho knows the pinnacle of the sport was, is, and will always be the WWE. Why would he go anywhere else? I mean if Kurt Angle, Elijah Burke, Christian, RVD, Jeff Hardy, and Mr. Kennedy couldn't save TNA, no one will.

Jericho knows WWE is the place to be, so if he leaves the E, then he will retire, no doubt. Not TNA. Nor forever. He will be back.

Jericho just needs to spread his wings every so often. The WWE would do well to allow him to do so.

Plus, I'm not so sure that he won't win at NOC. He makes as much sense as anyone. Wade Barrett makes the most sense, but i don't think he is ready yet.

So just Chill and watch what happens.

I agree. Kind of like Angle. Angle wanted out of the WWE but never told anyone he was going to TNA.

Personally, WWE always drops the ball with Jericho. If his talent equaled his success he'd be bigger than Cena by now. He's the type of guy you build a company around. He should be the face of the WWE, not Cena. Jericho can act better than Cena, he's a better musician, he's likeable and there's not a person that hates his inring ability or charisma. He can be a face if he wants to or a heel. In his own words : "I can be a heel no problem. I can get booed in my parents' basement for all I care."

Unfortunately, a part of the reason why Chris never REALLY excelled in WWE is probably because he doesn't want to.

Personally, I stopped watching WWE a few months back. I just fast forward through it in less than 50 seconds because nothing happens. Same matches, same promos, nothing to grab my attention. Smackdown is a bit better, I fast forward it in 123 seconds. I don't really care if Jericho leaves or not, if they drop the ball or not. While a lot of people like his current heel persona, I find it quite dry. They took the sizzle out of Y2J. They technically killed Y2J. Maybe it's because he wants to change or whatever, but personally I loved the assclown Chris more than Colonel Troglodyte. Jericho's so good at playing roles and parts that he made me forget that the other heel/face Y2J even existed.

My hopes for him to go to TNA remain. It's always an option, and I want to see what he'll do in an environment where he can fully use his creativity. It's a known fact. You want the money - go to WWE. You want to develop a gimmick and a wrestling persona, use your creativity - go to TNA. Jericho already made the money. He's at a point in WWE where he doesn't really have anything left to do. He's done it all, he said it himself. Time for a change. It has nothing to do with loyalty toward the WWE either. He'll be unloyal if he pulls off a Lex Luger. Working in another company after your 90 days no compete clause is as legal and as moral as it can possibly get.

I seriously doubt he's going to TNA considering the fact that he has bashed TNA many times on his twitter page saying stuff like "I could never be a Main-eventer in TNA, I'm not in my 50's"

And to the guy who has said that Jericho hasn't had a good career, do you remember that Jericho was the First ever Undisputed champion? or the many other times he became World champion? Sure he hasn't had a career like cena, but he's done pretty well for himself if you ask me.

As far as him leaving after NOC, I really don't want to see him leave, but I can't really picture him winning the title, Unless he decided to turn face at the last moment.

I think it is possible that Jericho might head towards TNA for a lighter schedule so he has more time for Fozzy and the game show.
Jericho already said he DOESN'T want to do anything TNA related. And for me, loosing 3 maineventers in one year, + there are chances for Mysterio to retire (it was in some report, stating that another knee injury may be his last) is just fucking un-aceptable. I just hope that Jericho will go to SD! when it debuts on SyFy.

Personally, I hope he doesn't re-sign. I know he has other interests and likely hates the way he's being used.

I don't think he cares anymore either. You can clearly see it in the way he looks. He's not fat, but he definitely has gotten out of shape over the last few months.

They destroyed him by making him look like a lost member of the Backstreet Boys instead of the old rocker version I would see on VH1 shows.

I rarely post here (because when I have it got deleted) but the stuff in this thread is ridiculous.

He is the best at what he does, but if he wants to walk away now like The Rock did I could care less. You've got guys like Sheamus, Barrett, Miz, etc who can easily take his spot. Do you not realize that? There will always be new exciting talent to watch.

Don't get me wrong, i'll miss Jericho, but it's not like it's the end of the world.

I think as usual, WWE will drop the ball with Jericho and he won't win unless something happens. I would be happy if he wins but I can't see that happening. This character is belivable that he can do anything and I would buy it.

I personally hope he wins the WHC, have a heel run for a while, then change to face and go head to head for the Undisputed champ at wrestlemania. Remember Jericho in attitude era or even in ruthless agression. I icon --> :worship:

Chris Jeircho the first and last undisputed champ. Quite frankly to see cena doing more than him in titles irritates the fuck out of me.

But I think im dreaming :banghead:

I've also heard and read about him saying that he "can't imagine not working there at some point of my career". He's bashed them, but I've also seen him post twitter pics infront of their banner. You never know. Plus, him bashing TNA about the over 50's thing is ridiculious, considering that the main thing on Smackdown is Undertaker vs Kane, 45 and 43 respectively. One of the biggest things at Wrestlemania was a two stroke and a fucked up head Bret Hart vs an almost 70 years old guy.

And I don't think that "loosing" 3 main eventers is a bad thing. At least two of them aren't. Mysterio blows, Batista blows, Jericho - well no disrespect but WWE can do without him and with him, it won't kill 'em. Hopefully WWE will hurry up and build some new faces and heels. It can only be a good thing for the viewer, not for business.

Just curious why there is yet another Jericho thread started??? He will be touring the UK with Fozzy in October, so I seriously doubt he will win at NOC.

lol @ the person that said Jericho might go to TNA. You have a better chance at seeing John Cena get pin clean in an 1 on 1 championship match.

Jericho has been taking shots at TNA and their management for sometime now.

Think about it though.....the only REAL value that TNA offers is a light, workable schedule. How--HOW many times have we seen head coaches in football, or basketball state CLEARLY that they have no interest in the "other team" that's trying to recruit them (*clearing throat*) -- (NICK SABAN, ROY WILLIAMS):wtf:? So Jericho bashes TNA?!?! That doesn't mean that he won't think about going. I don't know what the TNA house schedule is, but if everyone is complimenting that it has an easier work schedule, ---and between Fozzy, and Downfall (if it continues), etc., it just may be the thing for him. He can rekindle his love for RVD, throw the Pope a bone, and go toe to toe with Angle (again). I think it could happen.

If Jericho leaves, which I think he will, I will miss him so much!

Let me say this, If Chris Jericho goes to TNA he is only screwing himself. It seems as if the WWE loses respect for those who go to TNA. If Jericho stays loyal to WWE he will be rewarded with the Hall of Fame, special appearances, extra money (possibly), and other good things.

I wish we had time to see Jericho give us an awesome last angle or story to leave us with but it doesn't look that way.

IMHO I think that Jericho still has one more awesome title run in him. I agree with those who want to see him go out as undisputed champion as I believe it could not only make for a great story but also think he could really do wonders for someone in the borderline of super stardom. He always makes people look like gold and he's proved that he is in fact the best in the world at what he does so I say give him the title. Let him bring prestige back to having a title by giving him a run that last longer than a month and let him go on to win the undisputed title. I know my thoughts were all over the place but I'm new so yeah. Done with my rant. *cough Jericho for champ cough*

i will never see chris jericho going to tna why? because if you read his book you will see how chris jericho felt about his time in wcw. now look at tna i think its nearly just like wcw because in wcw the old guys ruled the show while the young talent was pushed back and thats exactly wht tna is doing now in his book you could tell he regretted him going their and i bet it would be the same in tna especially with the 80 year old hulk and the ego known as bischoff and the woman who is running tna to the ground. i bet jericho would retire before he pulled a flair.

I already said this on another Jericho related post and I'll say it again. If anyone deserves time off from the WWE, it's Jericho. He has been 100% amazing since he has come back. Let him take some time off to do his music thing and heal up what injuries he may be working through if he has any and then he'll come back. Everyone needs to realize he has been to the road every single week since he's come back and has performed at very stellar rates. Let him be and let him take time off. This will open the door for someone else to step in as well. The IWC is huge on Miz right now and are practically always on John Morrison's dick. Wouldn't this departure give one of those two a chance to step up? Yeah, I think so.

I highly doubt Chris is leaving, indeed I believe he is crucial the direction WWE is going... We are reading that by next April ALL the belts will be unified... and that Chris is integral to that process... no one will be the Undisputed champ till they beat him..

Also, Y2J is slowly but surely making a comeback... the character I mean, I can imagine Jericho's 1 term for resigning... a PROPER face run.. Rumble win to winning the title.as Y2J... It might last 6 months only... but 1 WM as the top face is something he has more than earned...

WWE will not be "letting him walk"... they know he is their MVP... they may now just have to give him his proper due... I normally hate Madden but he got one thing right... Chris is the last true pro wrestler... and I don't see Vince letting him walk...

Agreed that for a guy who is in relativly good physical shape (ie: without the crazy muscular look of steroids and in the sense of not having the nagging career shortening injuries of someone like Rey or Edge) and with such incredible experience in the ring, this will be a major loss for WWE. Jericho will however go on to pursue his other interests for a while. At least I hope so - i have a ticket for Fozzy in Norwich in October :) He is also relativly young when you consider some of the current names ECW and TNA. If this is his last hurrah then THANK YOU CHRIS and good luck in whatever you pursue. I somehow doubt it though. Remember it's a scripted TV show....just cos he said that if he lost you would never see him again, it doesn't mean that's it. There are any number of ways you could bring him back. And he'd still be young enough in 3 years time to get back on top of his game as a fresh new character much like when he left the first time.

What I think is a sad reflection of the current state of modern wrestling is that Jericho has nowhere to realisticly be other than WWE. He's too good for TNA. Before TNA lovers get on to me (and I by no means hate it) I will explain my point..... The potential is there for Jericho to be the best potential acquisition (sic) in modern wrestling sice WCW got Bret Hart. However, like Bret in WCW, TNA would no doubt have him wrestling Nash, Flair, Jarrett, Sting and the like. You have the marquee matches with RVD, Angle & Hardy and you can also have him to share some of his wealth of experience and talent with young guys such as AJ, Abyss, Pope, Wolfe, Anderson and Kaz. Jericho is an amazing performer capable of polishing a turd into a golden nugget (I even dug his match with Khali on Raw recently) and there are several dream matches he could have. However, I find it much easier to imagine TNA having him job to Sting or Hogan before I could see them using him properly.

I wonder what he could do for ROH if he was signed to them,,,,,but I digress.

I honestly believe Jericho is too smart to go to TNA and will stay WWE for life. Maybe the Hall of Fame for Wrestlemania 29?

I can see it at the last possible seconds of the match Someone has the belt lets say Orton, and he pins Sheamus and Jericho has Edge in the Walls of Jericho. Edge taps as the ref counts to three. We have a double winner when the clock strikes 00:00. Thus having Jericho stay around to finish the match the next night, where the title switches hands. Not to Jericho or Orton but to the Miz. Why he cashes it in after..Orton pins Jericho.

If the WWE loose Jericho, it's a huge mistake on there end. They are running out of main eventers faster than they are building them.

This sums it up in a nutshell.

It's a simple formula that sadly the WWE are failing at the moment. Batista and HBK, both masive draws, are now gone. HHH is going to be less active year on year, and poor 'Taker, from the looks of it, can barely walk.

Don't get me wrong, it's not as if they're not trying. The Miz, Sheamus and Wade Barrett can all step up but are any of them genuine, marketable STARS that can be the focus of any crowd-pleasing event, starting immediately after Night of Champions? Perhaps not yet.

It's very much a trial and error process, sometimes it works as above, sometimes it doesn't *cough* Swagger *cough* Mcintyre. The new superstars are being primed, and I have every confidence that a few of them will go on to massively successful careers.

But having Chris Freaking Jericho around when proven draws are beginning to appear thin on the ground can't hurt business. Get him signed Vince.

To lose Jericho would be a bone headed move :banghead: Jericho is one of the best heals that you have right now. Not to mention you could easily have him become a face. You see it in a lot of his matches now, that people want to cheer for him. Heck i cheer i for him, than again i cheered for kane when he was considered a bad guy. At least he's finally gettin the credit he deserves. Well anyway back to Jericho I agree with one of the other comments about him ending up fighting for the undisputed championship again, I like his persona now but i do wish he could have another face run. He is so good at talkin smack to other people, kind of like the rock, he gets a great reaction from the crowd. Think of some of the pops that he's gotten. like when he came back to raw to go after orton. That was freaking awesome. Anyways enough of my ranting, i'll just get to the point they are using the publicity to make people think that he's goin to leave so they'll buy the ppv to watch his last match. The reason they havent done the contracts yet is most likely for the same reason. If i'm wrong and he goes then :wtf: vince that was a dumb move

Jericho is a made man, a made star and yes he has stated several times that he still enjoys wrestling and will wrestler for at least 5 years or so, so with that being said jericho leaves wwe for a certain time maybe the rest of 2010 and come back some time in 2011, he has his band fozzy and can dedicate more time to it during his time off wwe, so expect jericho to leave for some time after night of champions and he'll be back soon in 2011.

ok guys, im gona call this like i see it, or like i hope it will turn out at least, knowing how they like to play jericho as the smart, knows he knows to get done through intellgence type way, so what im calling now, is the raw event goes on first, and he will lose it, and act like he is sad and everything, everyone plays the whole i guess jerichos career is over, and then before the smackdown main event, he will figure out a way to get in there, and win the title, witch will result in taker and kane fueding without the title. I havent seen what the SD main event is, but i feel in some way he will play off the "ah man hes done for, and then sneak in and win the World Heivyweight title some way, and lead smackdown into SyFy
