**MERGED** Big Show Discussion- Keep it all in here!

The idea for cena getting thrown through the cage is a good one. Maybe even Cena being chokeslamed through the ring and escaping that way.(JBL did this)

I just feel that an interference may happen in this match. Big show is dominating and then Johnny opens the door and gets in to attack cena but Cena escapes and runs out the door. Then they could have cena run away or Big show go after him and attack him. The latter could allow Big Show to remain dominant and of course allow Cena to win.

Last night was a great, uh... showing... for the Big Show. That promo he delivered at the top of the program was quite possibly the best promo since CM Punk's pipe bomb last summer.

I imagine it won't last long, not because he doesn't nail the role, but because I can't see them putting him over Cena for long, and ultimately that's going to be the measuring stick. But for now, they've done a decent job disguising his years as a mid-carder (most of which were inevitable; in this era of over-saturation, fans would have grown exhausted of the dominant giant angle for 18 years).

Last night's festivities create an interesting conflict for Brodus Clay, yes? On the theory that the last thing the company was going to do is have Big Show lose a match before facing John Cena at the PPV, I figured we were finally going to see Clay lose. Instead, there was no official contest, since the bell never rang.

Still, isn't Brodus' image shattered now? Or is he going to have his next match and act as if nothing happened? Who's gonna want to see him dance now?

I like the way WWE is doing these things lately. Rather than sticking Big Show in the ring with one of Ryback's victims, they put him up against an undefeated (albeit unaccomplished) opponent. The notion of Show shattering the persona of a guy who hadn't lost really fits in with his new monster image.

Well done.

I think they have to book a match between the two now, otherwise what was the point in Clay confronting Big Show backstage and challenging him in the first place? I think you're right. He can't just go back to dancing as though Show doesn't exist (he does not have to change his gimmick though).

Anyway, I think Clay needs to lose and Big Show is a good person for it to be against. The way they're booking Clay suggests they're afraid of having him lose -- that's why he's still wrestling squashes and beating guys like Miz, who have nothing to lose at the moment creatively. But what's the end game: 50-0 and a United States title run? A hundred straight wins and a World Championship? Probably not. So you might as well have him lose to the biggest guy on the roster who they're painting as a stone cold monster. It'll help reestablish Big Show and take the burden of booking Clay as undefeated off their shoulders.

Good ideas.

Big Show could end Clay's unbeaten run. This would make Show look stronger up against Cena for sure.

This could also benefit Clay. Did you notice Clay was serious for once last night on Raw. He for once dropped the smiles in that short Backstage segment. I also noticed that Clay got a nice cheer as the camera panned to him backstage against Show.

This could be the start of Clay becoming a more serious Competitor rather than the getting boring comedy act.

Show could beat Clay and Clay could think to himself "right time to drop this dancing and get serious, im coming for you Big Show"

This, to me, is what Big Show should've always been and had the potential to be. It became painfully obvious at his firing that he would interfere on behalf of Johnny but I'm glad they didn't swerve us. We got THE dominant monster heel. He was made to look strong without Brodus having to blemish his undefeated streak. Big Show spoke the way a lot of us have felt since Brodus redebut. I like Brodus but I'm not a fan of the gimmick. I do think that Show and Brodus will fued again. But like I said this is how Big Show should've always been, but instead, he's been a joke for the majority of his career which is rather stupid considering the possibilities you have with a monster heel big show.

Wwe dropped the ball with lord tensai.... I forgot all about him beingon the roster yesterday. Lol. so at least putting big show in there as the dominant heel is a smart move. Lord tensai should of went with more of an Anti American gimmick... Leaving USA for japan because their smarter then us, faster, and real competition...etc... Give him at least some heat reaction, and that would of done well for memorial day.

I loved Show's interaction with clay walking down to the ring. Saying he was selling out each night and could eventually be the new Doink (only with less talent according to Show). Just a really good way to get show a lot of heat. Clay is a big, lovable guy people are taking to, so to come down and tear him down made sense. This worked on a number of levels. It firmly entrenched Show in the role of the monster heel, identifying a number of logical reasons for his change. It allows for growth from Clay, who can now possibly be a little more serious. It also keeps both guys looking strong.

One thought occurred to me though (and my apologies if this was already mentioned...I didn't read the whole thread). The angle they are working with Big Show seems to be exactly what people were wanting/hoping WWE would do with Cena with the fans turning on him and having him eventually snap.

Personally I don't like watching big show at all. M no hater but I just don't find the man entertaining nether as a heel nor a face

Finally, Big Show is being used how he should! I tried searching this thread for any mention of this, but couldn't find anything about it (which actually REALLY surprised me): Does anyone else think that Paul Heyman could be behind Big Show's recent heel-turn and push? It makes sense to me, since Paul recently came back to WWE TV (albeit only as an on-screen character), and the last time Big Show was this type of no-nonsense ass-kicking machine was when he beat RVD for the WWECW Title (back when Heyman was still running things on that show).

I'm not saying that I think Paul Heyman is working for WWE creative or anything, just that maybe Paul might have mentioned something about letting Big Show have the ball (since things weren't working out with Lord Tensai). I'd have to imagine that Heyman and Vince could discuss business, or maybe Heyman sat in on a meeting or two. Maybe Heyman could have mentioned it over a lunch he had with McMahon, or even HHH. Just sayin', stranger things could have happened...maybe WWE finally just got their head out of their asses, too. Either way, I absolutely LOVE that Big Show is finally being booked "correctly" (at least IMHO).

I mean, everyone knows wrestling is "fake" (or fixed, or whatever)...but they have to realize that in a "real" wrestling match no one would be able to beat Big Show. No one would be able to pin the guy unless he allows them to for the "good of the business". Big Show should have been booked like this years ago, and I'm glad that he's finally getting some real recognition. This might be one of the last good years that Paul Wight has left, so good for him. I hope he gets his gigantic hands on the WWE Title this year.
