Matt Hardy Says He's Ready to Return

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
Matt Hardy wrote the following on Twitter about getting ready to return to the ring:

"I'm ready.. It's time for me to get back in the ring. I'm gonna train my ass off & get ready for the day-wherever it may be. Preach."

Pretty vague at first pass, but the thing that caught my eye was the "where it may be" part. I have no idea what happened with Matt and TNA, but he hasn't been on television in two months and his absence was totally unexplained kayfabe-wise, so if he does indeed return I'd hope they touch on the reasons he's been gone.

General thoughts on Hardy's return, or perhaps some irrelevant and ironic knocks on his physique from users who are probably 50 pounds overweight themselves?

MATT HARDY IS FAT DURRRR.

(says the 110 kilo weighing, six foot-three Arab)

But seriously, Matt Hardy showed up in TNA having highly improved his physique and stamina from what he was in the WWE. But even that doesn't save him from being mediocre, which is what he is and always will be, despite glimmers of greater things. His run in TNA has been uninspired like most WWE incomers (Val Venis, Orlando Jordan, Shannon Moore...) and it hasn't stood out much or even impressed much. His Cold Blood gimmick was nothing interesting and saw him returning to leaching his brother's main-event status, he won no titles in Immortal and was generally a waste of time, money and effort.

He wants to keep wrestling? Good for him. He's just not going to be awesome, electrifying or revolutionary while doing it.

Mat Hardy was a born-midcarder, and I don't see that changing in any of the Big-Three. He's better off restarting Omega.

I've been curious why he left, myself. I've been working under the assumption that they took him off of tv as punishment for those crazy Matt and Jeff youtube videos.

It appeared to me, that just before he was removed from television he was getting in a little better shape and his ring performance was getting much better than the sloppy work he had been doing.

I'm not a Hardy Boyz mark or anything. Never really got into them, even as singles. But I think the most effective way for these guys to return is as a team, possibly at BFG, assuming Jeff is back on the wagon. I think that would get a huge reaction and could work well in reigniting the tag team division, which I think has been suffering alot lately.

Well my guess is that he will return eventually, if he hasn't already. The reason he was putt off TV, was because he was showing up to the Impact Tapings and Live Events late. Then, well he got sick from some sort of food poisoning so he couldn't come back just yet. Anyways when he returns, i expect him to return to Immortal as he wasn't so bad in the stable ( even if he didn't win a title).

If Matt Hardy returns I want to see something new from him.
I don't want to see the same thing from him again. The cold blooded
gimmick was alright.I want to see some gold around his waist this time
not Tag Team gold either. The T.V title or something. That's what I want
to see from Matt Hardy.

I hate the Cold Blooded "gimmick". I put quotes around "gimmick" because this cold blooded crap really isnt a gimmick. Its just a moniker thats void of any real character development because Matt Hardy has the charisma of a block of cheese. It doesnt matter if he's in shape or out of shape because he doesnt give us a reason to care about him. He could have the best body in the business and I still wouldnt give two shits about him or his lazy eye. Matt Hardy says he's ready to return? I'm ready for him to retire.

I believe he was taken off tv because he kept turning up to events late, anyway if Matt does return I hope he comes back with Jeff as The Hardy Boyz and maybe feud with Immortal. Didn't Hogan say something about Jeff being a waste, I'm not sure what he said about Jeff but it was negative anyway, so Jeff could come back and feud with Immortal first and then at a PPV Matt returns with a steel chair and goes to hit Jeff but then stops and hits whichever member of Immortal is against Jeff. I know it's the same as Royal Rumble a couple of years ago but it still could be effective and then after the feud they could go into the tag division and then Beer Money can split and be successful as single wrestlers because The Hardys would be a big tag team to be the face of the division.

....So?

I'm sorry but Matt Hardy has been worthless in TNA. The guy hasn't done anything of note and was last seen with Chris freaking Harris in a thrown together tag team. The only thing that could (and that's a stretch) be worth a dime is a Hardy Boys reunion and it's not like they're the same guys that set the world on fire in the ladder matches. I don't see what the benefit to bringing him back would be and I don't see any real kind of a draw in him. He'll come back, talk a lot and then be right back in the middle of the card again doing nothing significant.

So if an addict says he's fine yet hasn't actually dealt with the problem in a way that would help it, we should believe him?

Now, I'm not only referring to the "dirt sheets" reporting that the Hardys have refused rehab. I've also contacted my friend (and those of you who have been around a while know about this friend) who works for the Hardy Show and while she is an extreme Hardy backer and defends them at all costs, even she knows that they need help. Unfortunately, they haven't gotten it.

Basically, the same holds for Matt as Jeff. Get help and MAYBE if you make an effort to get clean, the MAYBE a wrestling company should consider employing you. Until then, I wouldn't touch him.

And this is relevant how?

Seriously, Matt Hardy didn't do anything in WWE, and it's the same in TNA. He'll always be an average talented midcarder clinging to his brothers success. He hasn't done anything remotely important in TNA, and it'll probably remain that. He'll never be a top draw, or top guy in a company, the guy is a average midcarder who act's like he's 18 years old.

He said 2010 was the "year of Matt Hardy," then it was 2011. So, I guess in 2014 he'll be going to Ring of Honor and proclaiming that this is the "year of Matt Hardy?" The only thing he'll do in TNA is put over people, which he was against doing in WWE, but it's not a bad thing at all to put over talent for the future. But, I doubt this is the first suspension for him in TNA.

Matt Hardy is ready to return?!?!?!?!?!??!?! Really?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Oooooohhhh man...you have no idea whatsoever how many sleepless nights I've had to endure wondering when the majestic presence of Matt Hardy would fill my television screen again. :worship: :worship: Wait until I tell all Little Jimmy...Yes; dear, sweet Little Jimmy who has been on his hunger strike for so long.....:p

Seriously though, who gives a turkey? It's not exactly as if Matt Hardy has been any more of a relevant force in TNA than he was in WWE. Whether he's 50 pounds lighter or 50 pounds heavier, he's still the same huge dose of mediocrity that he's always been.

If the reports are true, I don't think TNA are eager to bring him back considering how he has showed up late and bad mouthed the company. Pretty much the same behavior he was exhibiting in WWE. Hardy seems to be in good shape even though it was reported he lost a bunch of weight. I have no idea what is going on with Matt Hardy in regards to his constant stomach issues. All I know is that TNA doesn't need an overrated drama queen that thinks he is above the business.

Matt was doing well in his TNA run before he dissapeared. He was putting on some good matches, had his Cold Blooded gimmick going on and was doing well in Immortal. When Matt returns though, I'm hoping it's with Jeff and they challenge Beer Money for the Tag Titles at Bound For Glory.

Yeah Matt is the epitome of "Washed up." He can still go in the ring and that's all fine and dandy. But he's never been able to step out of his brother's shadow and I seriously doubt he ever will. He'll be Jeff Hardy's big brother and like it.

I don't want him in TNA because, believe it or not, I want to like TNA. The only way I want to see Matt Hardy is as a part of the Hardy Boys, and I don't want to see Jeff any time soon until he gets his fucking priorities straight.

I never read anything about Matt Hardy refusing rehab. Rehab for what? People make meth jokes about him and Jeff and I don't get 'em. Matt is on meth?!

As a Matt Hardy mark, I wanna see him compete for the Television title since that's where he belongs - he's not that great. But if he pops up somewhere other than Impact Wrestling (Jimmy Hart at SummerSlam surprised me), I'll be sure to watch the match on YouTube if somehow uploads it.

There has been talk lately of Triple H expressing renewed interest in the WWE tag team division. Interest in Beer Money or KOW, with lots of speculation as to who else WWE might be interested in regarding a revamped tag team division.

I suspect this is Matt Hardy kicking tires, to put a bug in the ears of the WWE regarding bringing back the Hardy Boys to this revamped division. He may be delusional enough to think that the WWE would be interested in bringing him and his brother back, and he may just be putting that out there.

As a singles guy in either WWE or TNA, he's done. Fat jokes aside, he's no longer relevant without his brother, in fact he never was. The Hardys could resurface together in TNA if Jeff stays out of jail, and Matt stays out of Burger King. My guess, though, is that their time in TNA has come and gone, and he's looking at his options.

Unfortunately for him, I see this having about the same legs as Chris Masters' appearance outside of Summerslam last Sunday.

If Jeff's trial is ever completed and the people that know a lot more than we do believe they are fit to compete then I would not mind seeing Beer Money vs Hardy Boyz at BFG. I think that is a good fit and the tag division could be a good place to give them a trial run. If WWE can cash in on DX every few years I do not see how anyone can judge TNA for trying to get some money back on their investment with the Hardyz.

id like to see him return but not yet wait till jeff is ready to come back and bring them both back as a FACE tag team! lets face it mexican america really has nobody to challenge them besides the brits and that can only happen so many times before nobody will care anymore! beer money is gonna probably get a rematch and then move on to start solo careers (anybody else think they should both remain face and just say something along the lines of "beer money will always be here but right now we need to focus on our solo careers"?) so what better team to take the titles off mexican america then 1 of the most legendary teams of all-time thats under contract already with The Hardy Boyz?
