Make Otunga the leader of The New Nexus

I've always said that Otunga had the potential to be a Rock-like character. Honestly don't see why he hasn't already been given a push of his own. Since Punk is either leaving or getting involved in a storyline that won't need Nexus, then now would be the perfect time to push Otunga to the next level.

I think Nexus is pretty much dead now, but I think NorCal is right when he says if it is to continue then have Otunga as the leader.

He has the imposing look, the mic skills and the charisma to lead the group, and if other NXT rookies are added, plus the returning Skip Sheffield and Michael Tarver (who looked intimidating as hell with the bandana over his face) then they could at least get back to 5-on-1 beat-downs and the gang mentality which they initially had

Using the group attacks, Otunga could cover up his lack of in-ring skill and play the role of the "coward" leader perfectly, sending in his goons to do his dirty work, and winning matches due to the interferance of the others. I like this idea, as without something like this Nexus will just fade into obscurity.

Didn't read the whole thread, so my bad if I'm just repeating every one else. Anyway, in a nutshell, I agree that Otunga should take over. Despite being awful in the ring, he is easily a better talker and has a better look than the others excluding Punk. It just makes sense when you think about it. Otunga is the voice and leader. Mason Ryan is the enforcer/bodyguard type guy. The you add one or two more to do most of the wrestling with Mcgillicutty. I'm not a big fan of Harris but Skip Sheffield could be a good addition. The thing is that Otunga can use Nexus to get over like Barrett did. Punk never needed the Nexus to be over as a heel, and the Nexus hasn't exactly done anything for Punk. Otunga though can benefit from being leader, and if he improves his in ring ability along the way, it could mean something.

when Punk leaves, Nexus is dead. none of the guys stand out enough to become the leader and make people want to watch them. why do you think Punk was made leader to begin with? had someone else had the charisma and talent to be leader, they wouldn't have brought Punk in as leader- they would have used them and Punk would still be doing the Straight-Edge Society thing instead.

if Punk is gone, then i would disband the Nexus, BUT if you keep it, then have Otunga as the leader or find a new leader, but i would have Otunga leading them and give him more mic time and then have him kick McGuillicutty out and have McGuillicutty go through a name change and let him being Michael Henning (to help his career) and have the Nexus members as Otunga, Mason Ryan and get Skip Sheffield back and of course Husky Harris and push Otunga to a mid-card title, but personally, i would disband the new nexus and i see that happening.

I don't think Otunga has particularly good mic skills at all, in fact he makes me cringe every time he opens his mouth. They have improved very very slightly but he makes those dreadful facial expressions all the time and I can't buy him as either a cocky or menacing heel. In fact I cant buy him as anything!

He does have a good look and wrestling wise he is serviceable. He might be able to improve in other areas and it would be better than throwing him (and others) into singles action with no storyline. Problem is that Nexus have lost their Aura.

WWE should just keep the nexus as Otunga and McGillcutty and leave them as a tag team. They don't need to be a stable anymore. The Nexus stable angle has really run its course. Leave them as a tag team and maybe in the future (this time next year or so) start adding members to The Nexus once again if they are going to push Otunga or McGillcutty but I think they are done.

Nexus needs to end. If CM Punk couldn't bring them back to being a force to be reckoned with, how will Otunga? Dude has literally gotten by because he's married to Jennifer Hudson. His in-ring repertoire consists of scoop slams, elbow drops, an unconvincing chin lock (no matter who's selling it), and a spinebuster that looks so stiff it makes me cringe (which is actually the only good thing about his ring skills. Pulling off a stiff looking move without injuring someone is a major plus in my book). He's got a bit of charisma and some mic skills, but not good enough to make me disregard his piss poor ring work.
