Magnetic Connection

So, on the (local) news the other night they ran a story about toys that are unsuitable for children under 3 yrs. old.. & apparently a magnet is now considered.. a toy.

So, if you can somehow understand that.. then you're going to love this. They go on to explain, NOT to give a child under 3 yrs. old a magnet, in fear that they may swallow the magnet.. &.. (it gets better) apparently it doesn't lose its effect, & if the child swallows one, let alone multiple ones, they could connect to each other IN the childs stomach.

So.. with that being said, this is what I thought.. (& thus, wanted to share)

The Fatherly intincts in me are to make sure my Daughter in no way, shape, or form can get near any type of magnet in fear that it could seriously hurt her, or even kill her.

HOWEVER.... (in a practical sense)

The curiousity in me wants to see if she drops a couple down the hatch.. if she'd stick to the refrigerator. :lol2:

It would have the same effect if you gulped one down. Please don't be one of those people who have x-rays of strange things up there ********s.

You mean the colourful show about extreme animal abuse? Probably. They cut the scenes where they smoke cigars though. Good thing too, too many under-8's going round smoking cigars as it is.

Its probably for the best. I mean, if you truly have to choose, what would you rather have.. an 8 year old hitting you in the face with a hammer, to see if your head will flatten like on t.v... or seeing them smoke?!

I know if I had to pick, I just couldn't see a child under at least the age of 12 smoking.. just absolutely uncalled for.

I was more worried about them trying to put a nail through my head with a nail gun, but yea, smoking is bad. Small children, take note.

LMFAO! No, she wouldn't stick.

But, I was fixing a computer in the Science lab a few years ago, and they showed me these super magnets, two big round things with handles. You had to wear PROTECTIVE gloves and stuff when you used them, and couldn't have your wallet or anything on you or it could erase the credit cards.

I picked up one and put it near a metal plate. From about 4 feet away, I could feel it pulling, and it took 3 people to pull it off the plate. SERIOUS magnets!

I've also heard of people being killed by flying objects when someone leaves something metal in an MRI room.
