Koztino: your New WWE Tag Team Champions

D-Man

Gone but never forgotten.
They actually beat Nexus with help from John Cena. Let's discuss it in here.

Super Massive LOL from me. Kind of made Nexus and the Tag Titles look poor as hell though.

Really glad Santino is getting some recognition for the work he's put in recently.

i dont mind this move actually. santino and kozlov can both wrestler very well and santino can carry the group on the mic. as long as creative gives them some decent matches and doesnt make them too much of a comedy thing they could have a very good run. ofcourse there will be a feud with the usos as tamina is all over santino. hopefully this is a step forward in the tagteam division and not just a sideffect of cena fighting nexus

I'm glad Santino is getting a little time in the spot light. He's super charismatic and in my opinion, is not being used to his fullest extent. He's amazing on the mic, he's a pretty good wrestler... they need to change his gimmick. He can still be a funny guy, but they need to make his character a little more serious--maybe that's where they are headed with this tho. Maybe Santino won't be a big joke anymore. Anyway... I'm really happy with the new champs!

Good for them.

They are not the best team in WWE, but aren't bad wrestlers. Vladimir doesn't have any mis skills, but Santino has enough for the both of them. They are entertaining and very comedic. I can't even say that I'm suprised about Nexus' loss. It was bound to happen eventually...

I see a fued between Santino/Koslov and the Usos, with Tamina costing the Usos the title or something because of her love for Santino. It won't be to big of a fued or anything, but it'll be something to look foward to.

As far as how long they will hold the title goes, I think they will have a short reign. I'm not sure why though.

Great, great move. Santino is charismatic on the mic, and can wrestle. I love how well this was built up. Every week, Santino was shown to have "learned" more and more wrestling maneuvers, and to be more and more competent in the ring. While he was getting serious in the ring, he was allowed to retain the traits that made him popular in the first place - his humorous promos. Now we have as one half of our tag team champions one of the most over men on the RAW roster! Santino is no longer a comedy jobber, but a wrestler with the gift of humor on the mic.

As for Kozlov, he can work a match well and actually is pretty funny himself, as shown by his work during the Sheamus tea party segment and the Dance Off. His association with Santino probably saved his career. He has great chemistry with Santino and I like seeing him finally get some gold. I always liked him, even back when he was in the main event of Smackdown when he first debuted.

Did you hear the pop when they won? Amazing! WWE struck gold with KozTino and they capitalized when they were riding their hot streak. This could probably lead to bigger and better things for both men. Awesome move that I just can't praise enough.

Hell, I was just excited to see Nexus lose the Tag Team Titles. I have really enjoyed Santio in ring whatever he is doing. He recieved a huge pop from the crowed. It was bound to happen and CM Punk gave away another spoiler I believe. Great Job WWE.

This is a really Smart Move by WWE and they are Best Team on the roster. Nexus did nothing for the Belts and I think Koztino could have could have a good reign. Santino is MASSIVELY OVER with the Crowd and the crowed Popped Huge when they Won the Titles. Smart Move.

Congrats to Koztino becoming WWE Tag Team Champions upending Nexus. I have really grown to like Santino, took me awhile but I enjoy seeing him every week. Kozlov is pretty good and he can be entertaining as well. Glad to see them get the Belts.

I'm actually very pleased by this move. I'm a fan of both Santino and Koslov and the two of them have great chemistry both in their ring abilities and in their mic abilities. This is truly the only way that Santino is a believable champion after the WWE has booked him time and time again as a jobber. Now, the perfect mixture is before us. Santino as the mouthpiece that gets beat up a lot (although has occasional moments of accidental brilliance) and Koslov as the legitimate bruiser without a lot to say (although able to deliver the occasional devastating one-liner.)

I've got to say that these two as tag-team champions are way better than Nexus. Santino/Koslov have personality, story line potential, comedy spot ability, and are both totally and instantly recognizable. Slater and Gabriel, they got potential, but they've got a long way to go before they'll be truly championship material beyond simply being place-holders. Really, all they were was an extension of the rest of Nexus. Cena and Otunga would have been able to do more with the tag-team titles than the other two. Now it's in the hands of someone who can actually do something with it.

I guess you coulc consider them a joke team, but when they get in the ring they actually do deliver. Whats more they have been chasing the titles for a good while now. It also furthers the nexus and cena angle. Not to mention that it was performed very well, an elimination tag match is a cool way for the titles to change hands but the whole match was good in itself, everything in it looked good and right in it's context.

I'm happy witht this because of how well they pulled it off, and they even furthered the tamina santino angle at the same time. I do see nexus re-gaining in the future though, but that may just be me.

Okay, so let's see: Unified Tag-Team Champs: The Colons, Edge+Jericho,Jeri-Show,DX, Miz-Show,Hart Dynasty,Nexus and now....Santino &Koslov! Give me a break. After all the hard work Jericho put in 2009 into making the tag titles meaningful,WWE turns around and shits on them.Five years ago when the tag-titles title didnt mean anything, I wouldnt have had a problem with this, but it feels like such a waste what's happened to the belts these last couple of months.

To anyone who is dissing this title change, you're wrong. Santino went from a joke to a badass shoot wrestler in about a month. His last 5 matches have all been legit and he's extremely over. Congrats to Kos on his first peace of pie too!

I actually have to say I'm surprised about all the positive feedback regarding this. When I saw it happen I was actually glad. While Gabriel/Slater weren't too bad holding them I guess, they didn't really do anything with them. The tag titles are already at such a low point this really doesn't hurt them THAT badly. Besides, like people have been saying, Koztino are not bad wrestlers, they're just booked comically.

This will actually give the belts a bigger spotlight in general because most WWE fans enjoy the Koztino spots on Raw and they will not be overshadowed by what Nexus and Cena are doing. And while I'm not a fan of the Uso's, it will likely give us a feud to pay attention to for the titles.

I was hoping that Gabriel and Slater would hold the titles for a long while, so I am pretty disappointed with this, but thats just as I am fan of theirs.

I am surprised as to how well Kozlov and Santino are doing here, I expected people to shit all over this team but they are actually over, which is kinda funny.

Anyway, as Tamina is all over Santino right now, I think the Uso's are going to be involved here somehow, so I am interested to see where the WWE are gonna go with this feud.

I'm not overly wild about it personally but I do have to admit that I'm not against this NEARLY as much as I used to. Santino & Koslov started out as little more than a comedy team really. However, over the course of several months, they've actually turned into something of a legit tag team. Santino still has his quirky moments here and there but they haven't done any ridiculous shit like dance offs with them since the Viewer's Choice" episode of Raw back in the summer.

I have to admit that I've warmed up to them somewhat and I'm surprised at how over they are. Koslov is actually somewhat interesting just being around Santino so while I'm not particularly thrilled about this right now, I don't hate it. I'm surprised as all hell about that, but I actually don't.

I think WWE has done well with this. Santino has been booked as comic relief for too long and its about time they showed what he can do in the ring. Of course he still maintains the comedic factor, but hes now being allowed to show his in-ring talents.

His mic skills are easily enough for the both of them and hes managing to get Kozlov over as this likeable bruiser, which I never thought would be possible. It's certainly better than having Gabriel and Slater as Champs as they are painfully bland.

I can see a fued with the Usos with Tamina getting involved one way or the other. I also noticed the Usos last night, thought they looked really good and clearly know how to work together. I think they'l benefit from a fued with Santino and Kozlov as well, good work from WWE.

I actually like the title change. Santino and Kozlov obviously aren't some exciting, dynamic tag team but you have to look at the bigger picture. Nexus needed to lose the titles to continue the storyline with Cena and Barrett. There were only two face teams that could win the titles and Santino/Kozlov > Henry/Tatsu.

Another reason I like this is because the last real "team" left in the WWE right now is the Uso's. They are actually very solid in the ring and on the mic as well but for some reason they can't seem to draw much reaction from the crowd. With the whole Tamina and Santino thing going on, the Uso's now have a built in, ready to go feud. If anyone can get the Uso's over it will be Santino. Santino is very over with the crowd and if the Uso's are able to hold there own on the mic with him then it will allow them to finally draw some real heat with the crowd.

Again, the move may seem odd, but looking at the bigger picture it makes a lot of sense. The titles now become the main part of a feud instead of being put on the back burner and the Uso's will be given a chance to really show what they can do.

Urgh. Not exactly sure how to feel about this. But I mostly lean towards one gigantic "meh". Sure I guess it's alright to see Santino and Kozlov being treated like proper contenders and wrestlers. But I saw no purpose in taking the championship away form The Nexus, considering they would need it much more as a faction than Santino and Kozlov would need it considering they're most likely still to be considered a comedy tag team.

I'm actually curious to see where this goes. I'm guessing it will be another way of degenerating the history of the tag team championship, as well as the division. But it could also be looking up as a future thing for both Kozlov and Santino if they're actually booked as proper champions. Which is why there could be a lot of interest for this whole thing. Seeing how many different ways it could go.

I'm actually extremely happy about this move. I've been wanting the WWE to let Santino wrestle for years now. The guy just absolutely oozes charisma out of every pore of his body, and I've always thought he was a solid enough wrestler, and if he wasn't, his charisma can offset any problems with wrestling he may have.

Again, great move by the WWE. He's deserved a chance to wrestle for a long time now.

Like most, I'm reasonably happy with this. Nexus are incredibly over, whether or not they have the belts. The same can be said about Santino (& to a lesser extent Kozlov), however the main difference is that while Nexus had them simply to give Nexus some gold, Santino & Kozlov actually have them as a team and will continue to focus on the tag division, not have a splintered focus, partially on helping their leader.

Santino is one of the most over people in the entire company so him winning (and subsequently appearing on both Raw & SmackDown) is going to gain him further exposure. He's grown in the ring over the past few months or so and now he & Kozlov, while a comedy duo, can also be taken seriously in the ring and looked at as a legitimate threat to the other teams in WWE. I'm going to be watching this particular reign closely.

i agree, SMART move by the WWE. Santino and Kozvol were deserving RIGHT NOW of the titles. Iv never been a fan Santino more than a comedy jobber. Iv been impressed with Kozlov but nothing title worthy. But right now though they deserved the title as short as its gonna be they need it. ..Imma big fan of Gabriel (Behind the greatest, the miz) and hated to see Gabriel loose the title, but atleast he lost to soemone who can carry it right now

I think this is fantastic for numerous reasons. First and foremost, Koztino is an actual tag team, and should be teaming together into the distant future. This is good for a lack luster tag division, as it at least gives guys like the Usos something to do.

More importantly, who in the WWE is more entertaining right now than Santino Marella? Yes, Cena, Orton, Miz, they are the reason we tune in on Monday nights, but Santino Marella is RAW's ace in the hole. If nothing else, you can count on Santino to do something terrific. Whether it's on the mic or in the ring, Santino will come through, and the audience knows it. Did you hear the pop from the crowd after Koztino got the win last night? That was PPV World Title match loud! The fans are eating everything Santino does up, and Kozlov only compliments the Italian Stallion.

Everything about this move works in my opinion, and I foresee many memorable title defenses in the near future.

Everywhere I go on here, I see comment after comment putting down Kozlov and Santino as tag champions and people saying "WWE keeps shitting on the tag division" but give me one thing that is wrong with them having the titles? In my opinion, this is the best team to come along in years. So Santino has comedy relief in his character... AND? The guy's really good in the ring, and has it in him to be a potential mid-carder for life.

The two, to me, click together and make sense. They get put in tag matches against teams on all three shows (Raw, Smackdown, and Superstars) against good competitors. They have perfected the hot tag scenario and worked it to their advantage. They have a crowd following that pops everytime Santino makes a cobra and it snaps on someone.

Not only that, but they have an obvious storyline when the team ends because of Santino getting turned on by Kozlov. I mean it's really not that bad that they have the titles. I really think that their reign can be a decent one with above average matches. And in the end, they bring excitement with them all the time. So what's wrong with them as champions?

I think they make excellent tag champs - they are reminiscent of a face Miz-Show and look how that has panned out for Mr Mizarin. Santino works well as the comedy/ sympathetic half of the team with Koz as the enforcer/ monster of the team who takes the hot tag. Anyone who has issues with this team should really refer to the thread about whether we have lost our sense of humour. As an asides, I'm also really enjoying the EY/ OJ team in TNA - the popular EY is helping get the previously heat repellent OJ over in the same way that Santino is giving Koz character.
