The Next WWE Tag Team Champions

So i might get a lot of crap from the IWC for saying their precious shield will one day lose the tag titles, but they will. So I think its time to discuss who the next tag team champions should be. I don't believe the Usos are going to get the titles...yet. That's somewhere down the line. So this is what i would like to happen.

SS: Shield retains. It's yet to be seen if they are going to do the Rhodes vs. Sandow match for the MITB yet but if they do I really hope Sandow keeps it. If he doesn't what was the point of letting him win anyway? Anyway Rhodes loses.

Raw the next night Shield attacks Rhodes while he is out cutting a promo. Brad Maddox announces that Rhodes and a partner of his choosing are going to face the shield at NOC. So fast forward, the now face Rhodes picks Ted Dibiase JR.
I think in the most part, these two are amazing together and they should be champions again. Rhodes belongs in the tag team division right now, and Dibiase hasn't been seen in forever. Legacy was an amazing tag team, and could very well be the answer. If not them then who? Let me know who you think should be the NEW Tag Team Champions.

I think their reign should end at SummerSlam. Have The Shield vs. The Usos vs. Primo & Epico vs. The Prime Time Players in a Tag Team Turmoil Match. Have The Shield start the match with The Usos, and be the first team eliminated. The Usos then beat Primo & Epico and The Prime Time Players, before Brad Maddox comes out and announces there's another team to compete - The Real Americans, and have Cesaro & Swagger quickly squash The Usos and win the titles.

What would be good is that set up but instead of swagger and cesaro either the ascension (conor O'Brien and Rick Victor) or the wyatt family is the additional team

I'm pulling for either the Usos or the Primetime Players to be holding the gold soon. They've worked and refined their styles. It'd be good to see them in a triple threat tag title match ala E&C, The Hardy's, and the Dudleys.

I would love to see Ted and Cody as a team again though, but Cody has too much potential. Cody and Ted can team up, but they shouldn't chase the tag titles or interact with the tag champs. Maybe have Cody and Ted develop a friendship backstage and team up against jobber teams like the Prime Time Players, 3MB, or Primo/Epico. Make sure Cody continues to be used as a singles star, wrestling matches against upper tier talents and Ted gets a small mini push by acting as a gatekeeper to put over whichever heel Cody is feuding with would work. It's okay to put them back together as long as they aren't completely de-emphasized as singles stars.

Imo, the next tag team champions should be The Miz & Alex Riley. Unlike Cody, Miz has already been WWE Champion and main evented WrestleMania, so it wouldn't seem like Miz was being "held back" by the "lesser" Riley because Miz "had his time" in the spotlight. For whatever reason, WWE doesn't see Miz as a permanent main eventer, but they do like to use whatever star power he has to make the midcard look like a somewhat bigger deal. Not only can Miz & Riley team up in the ring, but as commentators, they can call matches together on the lower shows like Main Event.

It's hard, if not impossible, to say who the next tag champs will be. They might even turn out to be a tandem that has yet to come into existence.

The Uso's are okay, but it seems to me they're just a team that came into prominence because The Shield needed opponents for a couple pay-per-views. Before that, what was special about Jimmy & Jey? They've been around for a good while, almost always jobbing, yet paying their dues by doing so. Proving that good things come to those that wait, they were chosen as the guys to face off against Shield. I presume that once Rollins and Reigns dissolve their partnership, the Uso's will fade back into obscurity. Sure, there might be a brief tag title in their tenure, but that could result more as a reward for their good service than anything else.

Nothing is long-lasting in the WWE tag division. Word was that Triple H wanted to build it back up.....but that the effort seemed to be aborted made me think Vince McMahon let Trips have his way on this for awhile, then squashed it. When Vince finally retires....which will probably coincide with his funeral.....it will be mighty interesting to see the permanent changes in the company that result from it. The tag team division could only benefit, for no other reason than that it couldn't get any worse.

I think Evan Bourne and Kofi will come back as a tag team! Plus, having Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara could be a fun team when Rey returns. Sin Cara has nothing going and was actually fun with Rey... Plus the tag division needs some face teams.

No way does Cody belong in the tag division. He's finally in the first feud he's had that feels personal since Rey Mysterio.

Rollins & Reigns will stay champs til at least Survivor Series I think. They'll drop them somewhere along the road to Mania so they can be involved in something more important imo. My best guess for who will dethrone them is Henry & Big Show, Mysterio & Sin Cara, or Kofi and a random partner. I don't think it'll be a team on the current roster.

There is a possibility that the team are yet to form but my choice would be The Real Americans. I think that Swagger and Cesaro could be a great tag-team. Both are very talented in the ring; look intimidating and Coulter is superb.

I think the WWE will go one of two ways. 1) The bullshit wins for the underdogs via an interference or disunity within the team. The Uso's are likely winners in this method. 2) Is a super team defeating the Shield. An option is the Brothers of Destruction but that is highly unlikely.

I think The Shield will hold onto the Tag Team Championships for quite awhile. They probably won't lose them until they get into a more important, high profile feud with a really good team like The Wyatt Family a ways down the road at a bigger pay-per-view like Wrestlemania XXX. I think something like The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family in a 6-Man Tornado Tag Team Match for both US Championship & The Tag Team Championships would be an amazing match for a big event like Mania.

The Wyatts are the next champs without question. The only way to kill the "super team" is to replace them with the next one... I doubt it will be clean, someone will cost The Shield... whoever the Wyatt's "recruit" is the answer... if it's Kane then the Shield have all the "out" needed... if it's a shock return like Kofi, the same... the only way it fails is if it's someone like Bo Dallas lol...

In all seriousness, the Wyatts will be the next "power team", the Shield don't need the tag titles, indeed Rollins can be in the IC title hunt and Reigns taking over from Ambrose when he eventually moves up... The Wyatts looks like they will be the ones with a LOOOONNNNGGGG reign... they remind me of the APA a hell of a lot....

The problem the E has is that the teams like the Uso's were so worthless that their push now seems a little late/desperate... and injury and bad calls have robbed them of alternatives... The Harts would have been perfect for The Shield, but Tyson is hurt and they canned Harry, so he went to Japan and while I think he will be back, he has every reason to tell them to do one... They have Ohno languishing in next while Cesaro is teaming with Thwagger? Really? Hell even bring John Morrison back and have him challenge at Summerslam with Miz.... it's gotta be better....

Cody is not gong back to the tags... he is the one they wanted to "cash in" but they've done it smart and will have him win the case from Sandow to do so... of course Sandow then gets to challenge him so they get 2 main eventers for the 1 case...

Knowing the E we will see Cena and Brian winning the titles tomorrow on RAW to "help" Summerslam...

Cody is now (hopefully) going to run as a face singles wrestler - the feud with Sandow is looking good, although a lot of work still needs to be done in the next two weeks to hype for SS!

The Wyatt's for me would be great - the only issue I have is whether it will kill thier buzz (as I think it did a little for the Shield). Depending on HOW they capture the titles; depends if they are good with them...I think the focus for Bray and the Family are on making an impact just now and the titles aren't in their thoughts. Maybe over RR and WM season they'll target some titles but I don't think just now.

The Shield I feel need to drop them and become "hitmen" again and target the giants of the WWE once more...holding the titles means they aren't as capable of random attacks as they are booked in matches most weeks now.

The Usos are defintely growing on me - I didn't like their act at first but I think they've done well to grow.

I do like the idea of Morrisson coming back - maybe teaming with one of the 428 TNA wrestlers recently dropped? Maybe that's another topic though...

they shild has done little with eaither the tag team or us belts. i dont see them being stars more than a few more mounts. ive said it before the shild r a cool looking spirt squad.no talent no potenchel im thinking the big show and mark herny will take the belts soon only to lose them shortly after to the wyatt family

How would the Shield losing the straps make any sense right now? They need to keep the momentum going, walking through teams, all the while feuding with main event talent and proving themselves strong. I don't know the long term payoff, but keeping them strong in the short term is key at the moment until the broader plan becomes more obvious.

However, then they lose it, if they have been dominant for a long time, the team that they job too could really benefit. So give the rub to a real, long term tag team, one you have no thought of breaking up for a long long time.

Just My Opinion.

I like the Shield as Champions, they are a real tag team and are good in the ring together.

I say "Real tag team" because what has been happening lately are two singles wrestlers aligning together. What ever happened to the wrestlers who were devoted strictly to tag team like the Legion of Doom, Hart Foundation, The Rockers, etc.

With that being said the Wyatts are going to get a massive push and I could see them winning the titles. I don't want that to happen though because with the tag division in the state it is in having tag team titles might actually halt their push a bit.

Agreed but that can also hurt the division if they keep hold of the belts for too long. Look what happened with Team Hell No, they ran riot over the competition for a long period of time to the point where the other teams didn't even seem a threat at all.

I do get your point though, I just hope the competition remain looking strong or get built up looking strong when going against The Shield.

I like the idea of either Show/Henry being the next holders or the Wyatt's. Even the Wyatt's getting them from a good lengthy feud with a Show/Henry tag team.

I see ambrose getting tired of being hhh's hired goons and making it known. I could see them having reigns and rollins turn on him (costing him the u.s. title). I think it would be great for ambrose, he would get sympathy from the crowd. He can join the daniel bryan fight since they are both smaller guys who wwe don't see as face material (in storyline). He is a good heel, but I think he can be a good babyface too. Just have him talk about how hhh is fighting the change the wwe truly needs. I have enjoyed the shield, but really want ambrose to do his own thing. Plus he can stop wearing the shield's bossman wannabe outfit. haha bring back the ambrose look of the trunks and jean jacket... so I would say that the shield hold the tag titles for a while, but have rollins start to question if turning on ambrose was the right idea. Then in a tag match against usos have reigns spear rollins and cost them the titles. Maybe have the usos join hhh and orton since reigns is family. Then the next night on raw hhh can say that they don't need people in their group questioning them. Keep reigns on his side and hhh can say that reigns was the only one of the shield who could ever be a main event star.
