Koztino: your New WWE Tag Team Champions

i am a huge fan of kozlov when he was on smackdown, being one of the top dogs. i just dont like santino. it stuff is not that funny to me. im 19 and dont want to see a 15 minute promo where i can bearly make out what he is saying. if i was 10 then yea i might be interested in what he has to say but im not and i dont.

One of the complaints here is that people want honour and prestige to the tag belts. Well, how in the hell do you make that stuff? You have your tag champions featured regular in roles outside of 'filler match'. You have your tag champions be people the crowd gives a damn about.

Well, Santino and Kozlov are one of the higher profiled acts in the company. They have had this thing going on with Chavo in which Chavo is trying to find a tag partner to beat the champs with. If nothing else, people actually remember that they ARE the title holders.

I think its just a bias thing. Santino and Kozlov are easily the most 'credible' team the WWE has had in a while.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

They barely have a tag team division so why not give it to the team that entertains the most?

They're so over right now, they get huge pops. They're funny as hell.

So I say let them have it until a credible tag team shows up.

The only thing wrong with it is that certain people hate Santino's gimmick, I for one love it and this combination seems to be giving the Tag Team Division more limelight than it has the whole of 2010 *at a bare minimum, the division has been pathetic for a long while now*.

There is nothing wrong with it. Who the fuck else could they put the belts on and make them entertaining? The Usos? Please, they couldn't make an arena care about them if they tried. The Hart Dynasty? Oh wait. Nexus wasn't even entertaining when they held it. Tag teams aren't the focal point of the show and they don't need to be. KozTino are the most entertaining duo right now, and they provide the comedic relief for the show. They aren't the greatest and shouldn't be treated as such, just enjoy them for what they are. People want prestige to be brought back to titles. Let's have serious tag teams only hold the title while the people that watch couldn't give a shit about them! Nah fuck that.

KozTino is great. There is nothing wrong with this comedy duo holding the titles for the simple fact that they are the light at the end of the tag team tunnel. No other team can keep the crowd entertained like them right now, and probably for the forseeable future.

I have no problem with Santino and Kozlov as champs; They're awesome. I more have a problem with WWE's lack of tag teams in general. Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes? Are you f[BLEEP]cking kidding me? And then they lost two more teams when they released Vance Archer and Caylen Croft. Come to think of it, now The Hart Dynasty is broken up, too. So that leaves... Santino and Kozlov, The Usos, Lay-Cool... And... Eh... Er... Hm. Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel?
Pfft... I love WWE, but they're droppin' the ball on tag team wrestling. I don't like TNA all that much, but they're Tag Division is a little better
... Ick, I just complimented TNA o_O

I have no problem with them getting the belts. I don't believe they're the best to hold the belts in years, but they are ok. I think Cryme Time should have gotten a shot and have no idea why they didn't get that chance.

The division surrounding Kozlov and Marella is garbage though, they need more competition.

They make great tag champions. Santino is consistently one of the more entertaining performers on the show, Koslov makes a great straight man for him to play off of, and they can both work in the ring. Good choice for the championships, good choice to be able to appear on both shows.

I'm not a fan of them as champs, I see them as bad comedy relief, and bad comedy relief should never hold titles, wwe could have a good tag division if they really tried, the usos, the hart dynasty, put hawkins and ryder back together, bring back caylen croft and reform the dude busters, slater and gabriel, rhodes and mcintyre, put swagger with someone (tyler reks?)

Santino and Kozlov are by far the best tag champs WWE has had recently. No one cared when the Hart Dynasty were champs. No one cared when Nexus had the belts. Love him or hate him Santino is completely over with the crowd and that's what matters. He has even brought a little personality to Kozlov which I figured to be impossible. There are no other tag teams in the WWE right now that get a crowd reaction. I wouldn't just say TNA's tag team division is a little better it is WAY better than WWE currently. The tag division is one of the few things that TNA has going for it right now.

I dont think the "shitting on the tag division" has much to do with the current champs in most peoples eyes. Speaking for myself only- I think its more about the lack of actual tag teams in the WWE & the fact that Vince just doesnt seem to give a shit about them anymore. Splits of Cryme Tyme, Hart Dynasty & Carlito and Primo did nothing to help the division. Along with releases of Gallows, Archer, Croft and both members of the WGTT, have eliminated 7 legit tag teams in the last year! Im sure im forgetting people too!

As for Santino & Kozlov: They are OK to me. Well- Santino is fantastic, and I dont think it really matters who he's paired up with in a tag team.

I really miss the good ole days of tag team wrestling tho!!

Wild Samoans
Moon Dogs
Hart Foundation
British Bulldogs
Road Warriors
Valentine & Beefcake
Killer Bee's
Bushwackers
Sheik & Volkoff
Demolition
Strike Force
Rock n Roll Express
Midnight Express
Arn & Tully
Steiner Brothers
Nasty Boys
Quebecers

Were all basically within a 10 year span of 1984-1994

Now its all about making money off of singles wrestlers & its kinda disappointing really

I see it as a perfect set up to begin re-legtimizing the tag division. Just to use a team as an example:

Let's say the Uso's start getting a push. They're beating teams brutally, no contest sort of matches. They make a march towards the titles, and completely decimate Santino/Kozlov. They do it again during the "guaranteed" rematch and we never hear from Santino/Kozlov as a team again. They go on to defend the titles with pure intensity, delivering incredibly brutal and/or exciting matches until a "good guy" team shows up to stop them.

It's a step on the ladder. I love Santino/Kozlov and I can see where this can be used as a way to sort of "re-boot" the entire division. They just have to commit to creating credible teams within the division and not rushing to split them up.

First off all I love the sig MoneyMack.

Now for Santino and Kozlov. They are probably the most over team in recent memory. No cross that out, in a long time. They remind me of when Kane and the Hurricane teamed up. One enforcer, one dominant guy. They weren't the greatest but people loved them. Same situation with Santino and the Hurricane. They had finishing moves that people though where legit, but not for them. Hurricane had the chokeslam. Obviously works better for a big guy like Taker,Kane,Show. Santino has the cobra. It ticks me off to a certain point where people say it's not a legit finishing move. What's not legit about it. It a full thrust to the neck (majority of the time lol). I don't see why the cobra is not legit compared to Umaga's (R.I.P) thumb to the throat. Wouldn't a whole fist hurt more than just a thumb? Heck the impact on the cobra looks like it has more impact that Miz's (formerly Jericho's and Jeff Jarret's) full nelson facebuster. Sorry for that rant lol. Now the main thing that I and several others before me have stated, they are the most over in a long time. They actually get crowd reactions. I have been to several live events. In fact every event here in Los Angeles this year, including SS. I have heard pops for all the tops guys. The reaction when Santino motions for the cobra is as big as the pop Cena gets and that's what it's all about right? Getting over with the crowd. If that's not enough well look at Cena prove me wrong. We all know it's not his wrestling ability that gets him over and makes him legit.

What you guys fail to realize is that this pairing is comedy gold AND serves another purpose. It is making Santino into a legit wrestler again and not just the comedy jobber everyone is used to. By pairing him with Koslov, they have the ability to use Koslov's background to "train" Santino. By doing this, Santino is going back to his original style of wrestling from OVW/FCW. I can see where some people think the comedy schtick is getting old, but look at what they are doing with Santino. Everyone wondered if they can make Santino a wrestler again? Well, this is how they are doing it. Just remember that

They're no worse than Goldust and Booker T. And I loved those guys as a team.
Santino and Kozlov honestly fill two of the great archetypes of a tag team.
the "Odd Couple" archetype, and the "Big man + Little man" Archetype.

No doubt Santino's a good wreslter. But the only problem is his character. No one takes him seriously. In fact, the WWE has built up that we can't take him seriously. Everytime he tries to be serious, he looks funny. His move-set is funny. And champs have to, and I mean have to be serious. There is not one bit of seriousness in Santino. And that's the reason Santino and Kozlov get thrashed around.

There's nothing wrong with Santino and Kozlov as Tag Team Champions. The issue is the division itself. It's non-existent at this point. Just who are they gonna be feuding with? A slew of makeshift tag teams? There isn't anything wrong with the current champs, but how are they supposed to fully shine if they don't have any actual competition?
