Kaval As Champion

Kaval

Here's the latest installment in this series, with Kaval. What do you guys think, would Kaval be a solid guy to carry the World Heavyweight Championship? Speak your mind, let me know. Whatever you think, say it. Now, here's my opinion.

I think that someday, down the road, Kaval would make a great World Heavyweight Champion. He's got all the tools in my opinion. He's great in the ring, the crowd loves him, and he's OK on the mic. He could obviously work on a few things, mic work and just being a bit more charismatic, but other than that I think he's great. After a IC Title run or two I think he'll truly be ready, he just needs to work his way up the chart. You can't just instantly show up and be champ, well you can but very rarely. Kaval is a veteran, he hasn't been in the WWE long, but he's been all over the place before. He's definitely not green by any means. He'll just need some more time and he'll be perfectly ready.

It's far too early to be looking at Kaval in a World Championship scenario. In all of his matches on SmackDown! thus far, he's lost and he's lost cleanly. I understand that the WWE is probably just putting him through the paces right now and he is being seen on SmackDown! right now on a regular basis but, off the top of my head, I just don't really see Kaval being World Heavyweight Champion. I might be wrong, but that's the overall feeling that I get right now.

The WWE seems to have taken a different, more traditional route with Kaval than they have with a lot of other guys connected with NXT. Even though he's the winner of NXT Season II, they haven't jumped right into giving him a huge push and high profile spots as they have with The Nexus and Daniel Bryan. It does seem a bit odd when you compare Kaval to those guys, but I've got no problems with putting him out there. The WWE has been criticized and questioned a lot for giving new guys such huge pushes right out of the gate, so maybe they're just going in a more basic direction with Kaval for the time being.

I agree Jack-Hammer. They need to build him slowly. Like I said, I'd love an IC Title run or two before they even consider throwing him into the loop. They built up Barrett and Bryan extremely fast, just as they built Sheamus up, so a tradition build for Kaval would be an extremely nice change of pace.

Although, I don't think he's not championship material. Look at Rey Mysterio, he's a small guy who nobody thought would ever get the belt, but he did. Kaval could be that guy too. He definitely still needs to improve, but I don't think he doesn't stand a chance.

I believe if Kaval can continue to get the crowd behind him then he can possibly become a one or two time world champion. He has the in ring abilities to put on a good match when needed. He still needs to improve on the mic imo. Now I believe this can only happen however if they keep the the titles seperate and don't unify them. If they do however, I can't see him becoming champion as they will have too many guys ahead him that fit the mold better.

Nothing would be worse then two underdogg, former heavyweight champions on the same show. I believe once this excuse of a highflyer Rey Mysterio retires, Kaval's time will come. Rey has about two or three years left in him, unless another knee injury happens, then Kaval could take over as the underdog kind of champion. After one or two Intercontinental championship reigns and enough time spent in a WWE ring, Kaval will be a champion. He has an amazing look, unbelievable set of moves, great gimmick, and ability to be a champion or a serious contender. All he needs is a mouth peice. Or pratice on his. Give him great feuds that will make him look strong. Feuds with CM Punk, Jack Swagger, and Kofi Kingston. Give him a lot of time on the mic and give him time after matches to cut a promo just to say whatever the hell he wants. We all know it takes a lot of mic skills to be a good champion. Get him to open up and and break that hard shell. Hopefully we'll see some charisma out of him. If he works on his negatives, which he has VERY FEW, he'll be a champion with out any doubt at all.

I am probably one of the few that think Kaval can one day make it to be a WHC contender. I would like to see him first go after the IC title. Im a fan of Ziggler but I want Kaval too be the one to take it off of him. That right there would by a good match :) But sometime in the future I could see him with the World Heavyweight title around his waist. Probably around when Undertaker and Kane leave...

kaval is welterweight class at best hes no heavyweight so it will look bad on him. Kaval has no mic skills and needs more charisma and he has no credability whats so ever so he will suck as a WHC

I like Kaval, I like his wrestling style and he has a good look to him. I think the reason he has to be a slow build to title contention is because of his size. If you look at young stars like Barrett and Sheamus they are big men. They are more believable to succeed looking at the size. I think fans can buy into guys like Sheamus and Barrett because they can squash the little guys or mid-tier talent to look good. Someone mentioned earlier about him being similar to Rey. I think this is dead on and I feel like he needs to get that emotional connection with the audience first before he can work his way up the ranks.

I would love to see him feud with CM Punk just simply on the fact that I feel they would have great matches. I think he could really benefit from a feud with a larger guy and play off of the David vs. Goliath angle that always seems to work in getting the smaller guys over.

The day of "underdogs" lifting the big belt is long gone... Rey killed it dead with his mediocre first run... Kaval has always been a top level talent for anywhere BUT WWE... in WWE he is midcard at best, but that is no real shame to him... If he is smart and gets over, he could have a good 10 years in the E like a Bob Holly or Mark Henry... they never got a World title but still made damn good livings...

To be honest, I don't think Kaval has the tools to get over on his own. Sure, he can literally kick the shit out of you like he thoroughly enjoys it, but to most WWE fans he is just a short, bald guy with a weird voice. I don't think he has much charisma. I don't think he has much presence. And I really don't think he has the acting range to pull off any gimmicks that would separate him from the rest of the mid-card. People keep bringing up Rey Mysterio just because he is a short dude (I am convince I could kick his ass lol), but Mysterio is like MEGA over.

Did anyone really expect him to do something big right out of the gate like Wade? Even though Kaval is years a head of Wade in the ring, Wade was the best man for the win and has proven so far that his push is really, really justified. Do you really think Kaval could pull off such a push like Wade got? Wade didn't wrestle for two months and got over as the quintessential British asshole. Do you think Kaval could appear on a show consistently for two months without wrestling and still manage get over?

A world title? Absolutely not. Kaval is exciting and all that. But he'd hardly make a credible world champion. He'd be much like the Rey Mysterio we pretty much all despise today. Not because I expect Kaval to become boring and odds overcoming, but because of the fact that he would be a small champion with little default credibility.

Kaval is the type of wrestler, much like Rey Mysterio and Bryan Danielson that I feel would be great mid-card champions. They'll be the definition of the 2000-2010 period of mid-card career champions (Disregarding Rey Mysterio). And that's pretty much where they should stay, and thrive.

And it's not because I don't want to see them as champions. Because I guess with a little luck they could very well make it interesting as hell. However, there'll certainly be some people complaining, and overall the matches wouldn't be believable in the same way as Sheamus vs John Cena, compared to John Cena vs Kaval for example.

Overall, no, Kaval shouldn't be a world champion. At least I wouldn't believe it.
