Thats the thing, i am not bothered by these stories (seeing HHH in a kane mask f*****g a dead body was priceless), its just it doesnt really help bussiness in anyway, ratings dont go up, we just end up having the sport we here all love tarnished with even more bad press.

Its just it always seems like being shocking just for the sake of it, nop grand scheme just get some cheap coverage that will most likely do more harm than good.

i say let vince do the storyline because
1) It won't ruin burchills or Lea's career, WWE wouldn't waste a half-way decent wrestler. They would simply repackage them
2) It will not wreck the ratings on RAW or ECW, Because If I remember clearly the ratings weren't all that bad during the HORRENDOUS Vince dying storyline.
3) Also just like america, WWE NEEDS change, I'm tired of tuning into RAW everyweek and seeing the same garbage: Triple H VS Umaga/Snitsky Every SINGLE WEEK! WWE needs to mix it up a little bit!

This storyline idea although stupid sounding won't go as bad as everyone thinks... Because the majority of the people will tune in to see what is going on with thw angle because god forbid an angle about something immoral could be entertaining.
WWE tends to have these types of storylines once and a while but they really won't ruin these wrestlers careers. Burchill is very talented and although I don't know much about Katie Lea but apparently she is a good female wrestler as well.
And I know it was a stupid anhlr but I didn't think the Katie Vick angle was terrible since I don't get offended by much and that did not exactly ruin Triple H or Kane's careers

I don't understand why people would react so terribly to the angle. I doubt it will be sordid, and the two wrestlers aren't actually related, right? I've seen numerous incest storylines on TV shows. This is WWE; it's a sports soap opera. The sooner people come to terms with that the better.

I actually think the idea of Vince being the father to Stephanie's baby is very amusing and would make for some great TV

I actually think this could be a good idea for the WWE. I know it wouldn't be the prettiest storyline, but any press is good press. Also, they will get ratings because the people will want to see how this storyline goes. So, all in all, I think, even though it sounds like a disgusting storyline, it will lead into higher ratings.

Katie is such a good wrestler and she should be competing for the women's title and not have sexual tension between her and her brother. You are well aware that there are people who actually believe this stuff right? You know that when it comes time to give her a normal character this will have to brought up and everything. Plus it's stupid at that. Why not call them up for their talent instead of making them look like trash.

I don't know how true that is, how many people are gonna see Paul Birchel and say "Wasn't he a Pirate?" The angle is going to happen, it'll go just passed Wrestlemania, and it'll fizzle out, and both will return to OVW. Vince will have his storyline done and gone, and all will be as it was. Unfortunatly.

Derf is probably right. I think that this storyline is being done simply because McMahon's wanted such a story for so long, and now he can finally have one. I don't know why he's wanted an incest story so badly...seems kind of weird that he'd be pushing so strongly to have one.

Does anyone else remember back when Mark Henry was sexual chocolate? For some reason, they showed him, on camera, talking to a therapist, where he admitted that he has sex with his sister regularly. I'm not sure where the creative team originally planned to go with this story, but actually after that scene aired, I think MH disappeared for a little while, and then came back and it was never mentioned again.

I also saw on a behind the scenes wrestling show a while back that mick foley was talking about that story, and how he and some other wrestlers approached MH after it aired and asked if it was true. mark henry said no and that he didn't even have a sister.

In my opinion, its not who its being done to, its WHY its being done in the first place. I really don't understand, how ANYONE can say:

''Wait a minute lads, we have two talented wrestlers we don't have any plans for, so what do we do?''
''I have an idea boss, I know how much you wanted to reveal yourself as the father of your daughter's baby, but this time we can use something to that degree with them. How about we have Burchill and Katie come out as brother and sister, and after a few weeks of teasing us, they become incests! Come on, it'll be funny!''

I mean seriously, I'm very concerned for people who actually WANT to see storylines that involve incest.

I thought this may have been able to be carried out in the most tastefull possible way an incest storyline may be played out, in that they were boyfriend and girlfriend, and then later found out the girl was his sister, from a the blood test she took to see if she was pregnant. but no. we are gonna do this the depraved, nasty fuckin way. Gah, why couldnt Burchill just have stayed a fuckin Pirate on SD!...Id much prefer a pirate Burchill than a biker Palumbo, which is what they would rather have. ugh. Some great fictional characters have been insest lovers...The Von Struckers and Wanda & Pietro from the marvel comics and those two from The Crow for example....plus I was always suspicious bout the brother and sister from High School Musical.

If done in a subtle way like the ones mentioned above it could work...sadly Vince will probebly have them humping between some sheets in two weeks time...

I gotta say, these kind of issues effect people differently. Some arn't bothered, some are, most just don't understand why they'd want to go there. Myself, I find it a little nausiating. Like a few weeks ago when they had Edge making out with Vicky, I was pretty repulsed and couldn't watch the screen. And even though you can justify to yourself, that it's not that big a deal, it still just doesn't sit right. This is the similar effect some fans got when the did the Katie Vick story, the Eddie helping Rey from beyond the grave thing and even that simple joke Mcmahon made on the 15th anniv' show, about 'hooking up with Mae Young, at Moolahs funeral'.
It's not like it causes me any loss of sleep, but it really does kill the mood.
And whats gonna happen in the future, when the story's over? I'm never gonna be able to look a burchill again, without thinking 'sister-shagger'.
And wrap you're heads rounds this problem; I have a friend (about 50y.o), who's a passive WWE fan (watches it occasionally, but not enough to closely follow of the stories). Occasionally he will watch RAW with me and because he only watches it passivly, he rely's on me to fill in the details of the stories.
So I ask this, How the hell do I try to explain this one to him?
Speaking of which, what if my mother see's me watching it and ask's "whats going on in this story then?"?
What if my sister see's me watching it and ask's "whats going on in this story then?"?
How do I reply to these people without feeling a loss of dignity?

The incestuous angle featuring Katie Lea and Paul Burchill will debut on tonight’s edition of RAW. Burchill is featured in a match on tonight’s show against Brian Kendrick. Photos of Lea and Burchill have made their way online as this week’s edition of RAW was taped last week from Austin, Texas.


So the incest storyline makes its national TV debut tonight. I've been mulling this one over a couple weeks now. Personally as an adult I'm like whatever, take it or leave it. Most likely it's going to be another waste of TV time. This type of storyline doens't interest me. If I wanted to see this kind of thing, I'd watch Jerry Springer reruns. It's probably good that most people won't be that familiar with either Burchill or Katie Lea, so if it bombs they can go away to be repackaged. Sadly, the WWE can still do worse and I'm sure that eventually they'll stoop to even lower levels than this.

Having said the obvious, now onto why I'm struggling with this storyline. I have a child so I'm stuck with MattSavvy's same dilimena: How can I explain this to a 7 year old? Granted, she's already had her heart-broken (aka wrestling is scripted) and knows more about what's going on (thanks to me and net) than your average 7 year old wrestling fan. Still, how does a parent begin to explain incest to a 7 year old? Sure, I can see having to explain it when she's a little older. I guess I'm left wondering what can McMahon and WWE be thinking with this storyline as it relates to kids? How can I justify to family/friends/myself continuing to let her watch WWE with this type of storyline? Maybe I grew up watching wrestling under a rock, but I just don't remember these types of outlandish storylines back in the 80s when I was a kid her age.

It's times like these I'm reminded how wonderful an invention the VCR truly is. I've been editing out/fast forwarding through other recent RAW crap, so for now I'll just skip this storyline until it's over.

the incest storyline is a great idea...but to answer your question about how to explain it to your child..leave it alone, what about all the other shit that happens on RAW or Smackdown, i don't think your kid grabs a chair or a baseball and starts swinging? i don't think she picks on midgets, i don't think she runs around cursing or making people kiss her ass...also you gotta remember you people blow this shit way out of proportion...do you think that this storyline is gonna head line wrestlemania lol and hes gonna start a program with john cena or orton, its something for shits and giggles its new its fresh and bold and someone we havn't seen in how long....point in case look at muhamned hassid (i really can't spell) he was terrorist lol he had the undertaker kidnaped and shit...funny everyone forgets that...how gangrel drinking blood... calm down

Honestly this storyline doesn't bother me, at least it is something new. People are acting as if we are going to see them have sex, but that is not the case, the most we will see is Burchill and Lea kissing, if it wasn't for this angle they probably wouldn't have been called up to the main roster EVER and they are both extraordinary wrestlers so I am not complaining. Sure, this is a disgusting angle, but they are not actual siblings so it is not that bad, we have seen much worse from Vinny Mac over the years. If I had a choice between a Midget Bastard Son storyline or an Incest storyline, I would choose the latter.

If Vince originally wanted this angle for himself then I'm sure it's at least going to be entertaining. The problem I have is with the two people involved. So they either portray English wrestlers like snobs, pirated or the new thing a brother/sister love fest? Couldn't they have found two wrestlers without any talent? Because I don't see how either will come out with any dignity or lasting credabiluty from this.
