Kaitlyn Arrested

Jack-Hammer

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
According to TMZ, WWE Diva was arrested last night at the SmackDown! tapings in Michigan last night.

According to TMZ, the cops showed up at the arena where last night's show was being filmed with a warrant for Kaitlyn's arrest. They took her into custody due to an outstanding speeding ticket.

Kaitlyn herself told TMZ, ""During a previous visit to Michigan, I was cited for a traffic violation. I am fully cooperating with authorities to resolve the matter." They booked her and let her out on a $315 bond.

I'm pretty certain this won't affect Kaitlyn's push. It's not as if she was arrested for driving under the influence or getting into some other altercation that might potentially embarrass the WWE. I know it's the law and all but it's just kind of silly. Maybe due to being surrounded by real criminals at work all the time, but I see it as a waste arresting someone over something as trivial as a speeding ticket.

"I am fully cooperating with authorities to resolve the matter."

Yeah, but not 'til they caught up with her.

Hey, the guys of WWE have nothing on the gals when it comes to getting in trouble. Consider Tiffany McIntyre beating up Drew.... and the girl from the Funkasaurus troupe bribing a cop. Leave it to a person in WWE to find a way of negating their own push with misdeeds that have nothing to do with their in-ring performance.

Then again, this is only a moving violation rather than domestic violence or bribery, although WWE's problem with it might involve still another hit to their public image. This is the kind of thing the company would love to keep quiet, but given today's media coverage, that's a tough thing to do.

In the end, it will probably be resolved with no fanfare. That's a benefit of being a person with a powerful corporation behind them.....you try seeing what happens when you get a speeding ticket and leave the state.

Dispatch: Officer we're sending you a warrant for the arrest of Kaitlyn. She works for WWE, they're in town tonight. The perp in question is a female in her mid 20's, with muscular arms, a permanent pouty face, and two hairdos but only one head.

Officer: i've spotted her, you couldn't miss that hair from a blimp.

This doesn't sound like much. Sally's point about the trouble making Divas is a good one. But this isn't much of a story beyond an irresponsible person hoping a minor traffic violation disappears on it's own. It didn't and now TMZ has another story to run when Lindsay Lohan decides to sleep all day.

I don't expect WWE to do anything about this.

Geez Jack-Hammer, the title of this thread makes it seem like it's a big deal. I'm not saying anything about Kaitlyn's status in the WWE, I'm referencing that it was for a moving violation. Probably the only reason they picked her up is because, knowing what she does for a living, they knew exactly where she was going to be for a night when she was back in the state.

It's pretty standard fare when a touring performer- be it music, sports, etc.- visits town with unpaid obligations. Most sports teams have managers that handle travel, so you really don't hear about Lebron's unpaid speeding tickets.

The lesson here is that police take that unpaid red light ticket far more seriously than you think they do.

People try to make speeding out to not be such a big deal, but in some cases it really can be. The speed limits are set for a reason. That reason being so that the traffic in that area will be safer. This is why the speed limits can be as high as 70+ on freeways but tend to be 40 or lower in areas full of pedestrian activity. I never understood why everyone always has to speed. Sometimes it feels like I am the only person around who follows the speed limit. I never speed unless there is an emergency of some sorts, which luckily has been very rarely. People just speed without caring though and I don't understand why they cannot respect a law that is meant to keep them safer. There are laws out there far more worthy of arguing about than speed limits.

She should not have been speeding. Period. Is it as big of a deal as something like murder? Of course not.... She still broke the law though. If she was in a hurry to get somewhere then she should have planned to leave earlier. I agree with those who have been saying it likely will not have that much of a negative impact on her push. This incident will hardly ruin her life, she just did something stupid that several people do on a daily basis. It must have been a heck of a violation if they had to arrest her over it. Either way, she broke the law and admitted it, now let's just move on to more relevant issues.

Not necessarily- many states will pursue people who fail to pay a speeding ticket. For drivers within that state, it isn't hard- you're going to run into them the next time they register their car or renew their license, so there often isn't much of a point in sending an arresting officer. If you're going to be arrested for speeding, it happens there.

For drivers from out-of-state, however, it's a bit harder. They're going to be leaving again, and are only around for a limited time. They usually have plans which entail their leaving the state, which being in jail would interfere with. They have a strong incentive to pay the fine and leave. For celebrities, this is so much the more so- it is great advertising for the police to have "WWE Diva Arrested by Michigan Police" on TMZ. If people see that they're arresting celebrities for a few hundred dollars, they're going to take their own obligations that more seriously.

Right. So where do you draw the line? 32 in a 30? Because that happens, and are you really gonna tell me that 2 mph makes a lot of difference? Also, you do know that speedos aren't accurate, I've known them to read 70mph when the actual speed has been nearer 80mph. And I must commend you for being such a paragon of virtue, never speeding, how does it feel to be the 1 in a million? Although I actually suspect you're making yourself seem a lot better than you are, it is remarkably easy to drift over the speed limit, I myself have found my speed creeping up, essentially because your foot is slowly but surely dropping, therefore creating more pressure on the accelerator. If, as you say, you have NEVER gone over the speed limit, you truly deserve a medal!

Wow the guys have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to getting into trouble. Why did kaitlyn wait until she was arrested to resolve this matter. Did she think "Oh I wont get caught its all good".

This is some minor minor charge she has. I fully expect WWE not to do a damn thing about this

Ugh even I have to admit, that the title sounds like something out of a WWE storyline. However it's not as TMZ reports

it all went down at the Van Andel Arena ... sources tell us the 26 year old was taken into custody by the Kent County Sheriff stemming from an old speeding ticket.

Were told shortly after she arrived at the arena police showed up with a warrant ... she was hauled to a nearby police station where she was booked and took a pretty impressive mugshot.

A short time later Kaitlyn -- real name Celeste Bonin -- was released on a $315 bond.

Kaitlyn released a statement to TMZ .. saying, “During a previous visit to Michigan, I was cited for a traffic violation. I am fully cooperating with authorities to resolve the matter.”

Overall, I am sure this is embarrassing for the Diva and she will probably do her best to take care of this matter immediately.

No biggie.

YThat's a benefit of being a person with a powerful corporation behind them.....you try seeing what happens when you get a speeding ticket and leave the state.

Many people on vacation get a speeding ticket while in another state. What do they do after their vacation, they leave the state again to go back home. Then you send in your fine and all is done.

Kaitlyn did not send in her fine, but, she did not try to avoid anything this week. If she was, she would have not been part of the show in Michigan and avoid going into the state.

This discussion should now be over. She got a speeding ticket like thousands of other drivers do regularly, it is now resolved.

As one of the previous posts stated, if you had never drove over the speed limit while driving, you are a better person than millions of other drivers.

I would be one to say this isn't to big of a deal, but then again how hard is it to pay a speeding ticket. It is funny to me how much the divas do get in trouble. It's like girls gone wild over there lol. Anyway here is my thing. My friend just got a speeding ticket for going 110 in a 55. I was pissed at him for that as it is totally unnecessary. I am guilty of speeding at times too, but double the limit? Come on. I live in Pittsburgh and cops live for giving out speeding and parking tickets, and believe me they treat it as a big deal. I find it amusing that they hauled her in for it, but at the same time we all have to pay our tickets why shouldn't she? I don't think anything will happen to her as far as her push goes, but whether we all do it or not speeding can definitely cause some problems on the roads.

People make mistakes and that's just what this was. It's not like she tried to kill someone. Speeding excessively isn't cool and it is dangerous, but at least it wasn't anything worse and no one was hurt. It's all taken care of, hopefully she learns from it and just move on from it. Give it a few months and people will have forgot all about it.

You guys that are ranting on speeders are douches. Speed laws most often exist as a way for law enforcement to "fundraise." It's an easy way to make a couple hundred bucks.

Anyways as far as Kaitlyn goes, she probably just got a speeding ticket and forgot to pay it. They don't call you every week with a friendly reminder. And on top of that, she spends a lot of time away from home. You know when she's there, she's got enough to do that something small like a traffic ticket can get lost in the shuffle. "Oh I'll pay it next week, I got time" probably is what she was thinking and then just forgot about it.

Right. So where do you draw the line? 32 in a 30? Because that happens, and are you really gonna tell me that 2 mph makes a lot of difference? If, as you say, you have NEVER gone over the speed limit, you truly deserve a medal!

I draw the line at 5 over. I never go any higher over the speed limit than that, and that's just if it's extremely crucial that I get where I am going. I try to plan to leave early enough that going the speed limit will suffice. If you had read my post you would have noticed the part where I said I never speed unless it is an emergency or some sorts. Now if you don't mind, this thread is about Kaitlyn's speeding, not mine. Please stay on topic.

That honestly makes quite a bit of sense. If the officers notice a law being broken by a celebrity then bringing them in would indeed earn them some publicity while at the same time showing the local citizens that they are in fact enforcing the laws. I still say that TMZ is making way too big a deal about it, depending on how fast she was even going. If she was going 70 in a residential area or a school zone that's one thing, but if it was just something like 10 over the limit, then this is not that huge of a deal. Regardless, like I said in my last post, she made a mistake and has admitted that. I think we should all move on to more relevant issues now. WWE would have done something by now so we should clearly move along since they obviously have.

She probably just forgot to pay it, something like that can be pretty easy to forget when you have to worry about tavel plans like car rental, plane tickets, hotel room rental, gym, apperiances, shows among other stuff.

As for some other stuff, Speedometers can be thrown off from stuff like air presser in the tires, diffent wheel and tire size on the car from what it came from the factory with. That's why alot of cops will give a 5MPH buffer on the speed limit.

Also, cops are more likely to ticket an out of state driver for something minor then they are a local. One of the main reasons for this is that out of staters are less likely to stay and go to a hearin to contest tickets so they will just pay the fines.

Someone said about that they arrested her for the press. Which this is a big reason they did it. Get press out that they are actually doing their jobs. It's like that one cop did down in what was it I think Texas, the cop arrested Willie Nelson for having weed. Everyone knows he smokes it, they knew where he would be because of his tour so the cop did it to get press coverage.

As for if WWE is going to do anything, I doubt they will do anything to her because of this. At the most maybe have her job a match or 2. Which if they do like we would notice. They besically don't care about the Divas as it is. Storylines already fall apart and go no where so it's not like we will know if they do anything.

I agree, I don't think this will affect her push at all. I wasn't anything drastic, just a speeding ticket. People get them everyday. Her current push is ok, not the best though.

Man, I was hoping to get something like "Kaitlyn was strip searched before being arrested" or something like that. There goes my morning fun :P.

But no seriously, Kaitlyn's probably going to get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. I highly doubt WWE would even care considering the facts. If she didn't cause any troubles, then that's easy to help WWE over.
