Jack Swagger wins MITB. What Now??

I was pretty happy with Swagger winning last night. Like most people, I didn't really see it coming. I thought Kofi and Christian were the favorites, but Swagger pulling out a shocking win was a very nice surprise.

As to what happens now, I expect Swagger's career to be very much on the upswing now. Some are no doubt expecting Swagger to cash in the briefcase soon, maybe even tonight. It's possible, but I don't think it'll happen quite that way. I think Swagger is going to be built up some before that happens.

I really think we are all forgetting that in July there is a MITB PPV so if he will cash in before the PPV? at the PPV? Or after the PPV will we have 2 people with MITB cases running around?

To the point of this thread: Jack should cash in a hot hurry like next Monday challenge the Wonder Kid(Cena) this week and have a good main event on Raw next week to go up against TNA live.

Either way he will win and be booked like crap like Punk's 1st run and to some point Sheamus(sp)

There's no way Swagger is cashing in his briefcase tonight. Against who? Cena? Doubt it, I don't think the Cena/Batista feud is over quite yet, I expect to see a re-match between them at the next PPV, possibly with a different result. Against Y2J? Doubt this too, same reason.

Plus, Swagger hasn't done much lately, in fact he was jobbing to everyone, including Santino, for a while, they'll need to build him up again before he main events a PPV for either of the major titles.

In my opinion, this will be the first instance of an unsuccessful MITB title shot. I believe he goes to SD! in the draft, and loses there against Jericho, Edge, Batista, or whoever has the title at the time.

Jack Swagger was the LAST person I expected to win and the last person I WANTED to win. I can't see him as a believable champion or even #1 contender. The best thing the WWE could have done was listen to the damn fans for once, have Christian win MITB, have Edge win the title from Jericho, and then have Christian cash it in right then and there and win...still unpredictable (which seems to be the only reason people are liking the Swagger win anyway) but yet SO much better in my opinion.

hopefully he moves to smackdown due to the draft, then I won't have to watch him anymore. the guys sucks the life out of arena's worse than charlie hass, but at least hass could wrestle.

the guy does pushups before getting in the ring for gawds sake. if you wanted to shock the world, you should have let kane win the match. now there is a guy who deserves a shot at a title.

Ok so I started this thread became alot of you guys were talking about how Jack Swagger shouldn't have won and how he lost to Santino and how he's below mid-card. But if I could remember Sheamus lost to Goldust before coming to raw and look at him now. Now do you remember the 2009 draft when Swagger took on Cena. I could remember the two put on a hell of a match together that showed Swagger has the potential to put on matches with the best of them and about a month ago Swagger had a good match with Triple H on raw. I mean you gotta look at his positives the guy could wrestle and he's only 28. Sure he doesn't have good mic skills but neither did Brock Lesnar nor Sheamus does. He has great size at 6'6 260. I mean maybe wwe gave Cena the wwe title so he could fued with Swagger when he's done with Batista. What do you think am I right or insane? Your Thoughts. (oh one more thing wwe does need a new main-eventer after the departure of hbk).

The thing is swagger wasnt even midcard, he was actually being tossed around like lower card talent.

Its not his fault its the fact that the wwe brass just stopped pushing him once he went to raw, which would of made his win seem more likely.

I thought the guy was basically being placed in the MITB as filler and had no chance of winning because of the fact that he was buried so much, which makes his win seem pointless, if the Booking comitte on raw or smackdown push swagger properly He may be able to keep the momentum going from his MITB win he just needs to show that hes worthy of holding that case and move up to the main event from the lower card hell he was thrown into due to misuse.

IMO he has potential just needs proper booking in order to reach his potential.

For me, this was the biggest shock of the night. I saw Christian winning this thing, hands down. I just wasn't sure how high on Swagger the WWE was.

The guy can wrestle, no question. But in all honesty, no matter how terrible this may sound, I thought his speech impediment would hold him back. It takes away from his promos, no matter how crude that sounds. It's hard for me to buy into a grown man, on the mic, with a speech impediment, and I am not alone in that opinion.

But yeah, this was somewhat shocking. And then he had such a hard time unlocking the briefcase, I thought someone was just late knocking him off the ladder. I hope this guy does well. He can wrestle with the best of them, and he has the look. I would like to see him with a manager, but that "art" seems to be dead in the WWE.

Also, I could most definitely see him being the first guy to lose after cashing in the briefcase. Out of all of the MITB match winners, he is by far the least popular. He isn't nearly as over as the guys before him, so this could be WWE's chance to break the winning streak of MITB guys.

Maybe people are looking too far into this and Vince just wanted a temporary holder.
Don't forget, there is a PPV titled Money In The Bank in July, so it's possible somebody will challenge him for the breifcase there.
But I do hope this isn't a false start for Swagger.
He has great potential and at the very least this will get him some TV time.

HATERS IN THE HOUSE!!!

Stop sippin on that Swagger Hater-Ade. Just sit back & enjoy the ride. Swagger is good. He is also young(for wrestling standards- he just turned 28) -which means he can only get better. At OU he actually set the NCAA record for most pins in a season with 30. I dont know alot about amatuer wrestling- but I know if you set a NCAA record- your doing something special. They(meaning VKM) could really take this kid to the moon if they wanted to. He could easily turn Swagger into a Goldberg/Lesnar type of ass-kicker. Lord knows neither one of those guys had any mic skills at all!! So that cant & shouldnt be part of the arguement wrt Swagger.

I think he needs to add more suplexes & spinebusters into his move-set. Just start slammin people around like the late great Dr.Death Steve Williams. How about adding Dr.Deaths Oklahoma Stampede into his move-set: right before Swagger does his running off the turnbuckle body splash. Both Swagger & Dr.Death played football & wrestled at OU & Swagger already does Dr.Deaths gutwrench powerbomb. The setup is there & shouldnt be hard to exicute. I'd also like to see Swagger add in a couple, or at least ONE BIG submission manuever also. Maybe have him start using the crossface or go old school & use the camel-clutch.

Awesome that he won. I was made up when he did it, I honestly didn't expect him too, I had him down as 3rd/4th choice to win, so a huge surprise, and I must admit that I marked out just a little when he won. Hopefully he will get a ME push, and what makes this more awesome is the fact that there is no Michaels, no Taker, possibly no HHH and Batista after Mania through healing injuries meaning that WWE will spotlight younger stars. Swagger had an awesome match with Cena when he was ECW champion, I hope these two fued for the title and Cena elevates him to the next level.

I was almost certain that Christian would've won it, and I thought for sure someone would've run in while Swagger took forever to unhook the freaking briefcase, but it shocked me when he won. I thought he was just filler in the match, but apparently not. All in all this Money in the Bank had a kind of "meh" feel to it. There was nothing that made me go "Holy shit!", aside from Swagger flipping Hardy on the ladder and Kofi's stilt routine, but there wasn't the big spot from Shelton I expected, and there wasn't the huge jump I expected either. No, I don't count McIntyre becoming infertile. Also, did anyone else notice that everyone in the match had new attire? I liked Hardy's and MVP's. They were nice. All in all, the win for Swagger surprised me, and I'm thinking he'll cash it in rather quickly, but I'm not sold on a win. Rumor has it that he's being moved over to Smackdown.:scratchchin: Yes, I find it necessary to use a smilie in almost every post. Is that going to be a problem?

Christian deserved that briefcase way more than Swagger, or anyone else in the match. I hope they setup a briefcase match between Christian and Swagger at the next PPV, and since these two feuded for the ECW belt before, it'll be an interesting match.

talk about shocker. i wanted drew or christian to win but i was expecting kofi to win.... so to see jack win was great and different. there were reports that jack was going to move to smackdown at the draft so hopefully a match between him and edge or chris jericho would be good but if he stays on raw rhen i guess he'll go after john or randy orton if he has the strap

I love the idea of swagger as Mr.Money in the Bank...what i hate is people complaining..."its too soon" "it was too fast" while these same people were complaing just three months ago that cena, orton, hhh, hbk, taker and others were hogging the spotlight....and its not just with swagger..when mcyintire won the ic title people complained..i dont get it..you want a new champ..and person get that main event push, and when they get it, they are still not happy, just because its not kofi,or benjamin, or christian..i love swagger being chamo...im not going to say if or when he wins the title...half of us already heard anyway....there was a thread a while back about how wwe doesnt push swagger right...well i dont see any bigger way to push thab the way hes being pushed now..im happy..it shows there life after hbk, and there will be like after hhh, taker, mysterio, and others
