Jack Swagger wins MITB. What Now??

Ok that came out of left field as the odds were for Drew or Kofi or Christian but Jack did it by gosh.


So what now I mean this guy was jobbing to Santino a few months back and now he has the most guaranteed shot to a title ever. Will he be the first to lose, Can he pull it off?? What do you think

My pick is he will get a match with Cena and be the first to lose but have a good showing. I just hope this means they will have him show off his skills and maybe just get him a mouthpiece.

WWE pulled a huge shocker on this one, and I think this takes a lot of balls for the WWE, to give Jack Swagger this opportunity. Hopefully Jack can take full advantage of this opportunity and be able to run with it and get the WWE title.

Obviously, I think Jack will wait longer in the year to get his match to see if he is truly ready to run with the big boys, and clearly he will be getting a push in the next few months to prove that point.

If the WWE feels Jack is ready he will win the title, if they don't feel Jack developed enough over the year he will be the first to lose, and it is as simple as that.

Well I remember him saying on commentary (I think last week) that if he ever wins it he MIGHT cash it in on the same night. So who knows? Maybe he will. And if the rumors were true that batista will take time off after wrestlemania then chances are john cena will tonight and then swagger can cash it in and set up a feud with him and cena.

Oh and raw is without a champion right now so there's a high chance that he might cash it in tonight if not sooner.

I see him being the first person to not go on and win a title. I could see him cashing it in tonight against either Edge (assuming he wins) or Cena (again assuming he wins) and get hit by either speared or a quick Atitude Adjustment and lose. I just cant picture them actually giving Jack Swagger a title run sometime in the next year. But then again I said the same thing about Sheamus so you never know.

Jack Swagger was my fifth pick to win but Im happy he won. Jack Swagger he was one of the people who needed another push. I think it would be great if cena won the WWE championship and then jack swagger comes out cash it in and win so cena can get screwed of the title again. But it was funny how it took swagger like 25 seconds to get the brief case.

This Made it for me, in terms of accepting Swagger as a true competitor. I really didnt see this one coming and i thought swagger would cash it in on Jericho after Edge speared him through the barracade. Which was pretty sweet.

I disagree. Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and now Edge have lost their title shot from winning the Royal Rumble. All that contract gives is a shot at the title. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, Michaels lost the match after the first Rumble with that stipulation. (That was the year he went against Diesel, right?)

There's no reason that Swager would have to win. In fact, having him be the first guy to lose his contract shot could be a good way to add to the push of a champion that might need it later on down the line.

I really think the whole "first to lose" could work in swagger's benefit. He doesn't get much heat despite his talent. If he cashed in after a Cena win and lost tonight it could set up an inferiority complex character out of "swagger". That would be interesting. I think a feud with cena could really make a star out of swagger if he can get enough heat out of it and there aren't enough solid heels on raw right now anyways. Its a good time for a push.

I think swagger will lose his MITB briefcase to a bigger star in some kind of match and then that person will cash it in and win one of the heavyweight champions.

About a year and a half ago, I thought he would be the next big star in WWE. Then Sheamus, Kofi, and McIntyre kind of moved passed him. I know he has a lisp, but I don't mind it. I think he could be really good. I would love to see him challenge Cena.

It's too bad Flair is in TNA, because I could see Swagger really flourishing in the Understudy Role to Flair. He has that cocky attitude and is great in the ring.

Jack Swagger is the perfect wrestler to win MITB, for a bunch of reasons.

1. NO ONE saw it coming, surprise,
2. WWE had high hopes for him before being jobbed out, probably part of the bigger picture (MVP like)
3. They want to create new stars, Jack is the perfect guy to do that for, the rest in the match are either superstars, with a name or very little name value, why would Kane, Christian, Matt Hardy, Kofi win it? they're all over witth the fans, Shelton and MVP are two guys who could of won for the eliment of surprise, but WWE wouldn't go that route, and Drew is the chosen one, so they wouldn't give the case to him when we KNOW he's a future champion, and Bourne? WWE wouldn't dare give him the due to his size, so Swagger was the obvious choice for a surprise winner, tho I thought Christian or Matt Hardy could of won it this year just to go wth a high mid carder/main event jobber.

Complete shocker for me. I definitely didn't even think of him as winning. When Edge speared Jericho after their match, I was definitely waiting for Swagger's music to hit, but it didn't.

I hope they utilize this win for Swagger well. I see him cashing it in at Extreme Rules after a lengthy Cena Vs. Batista in an I Quit match or something like that.

I agree that if he loses with the MITB then it loses some of it's prestige. Winning this match is the push into the Main Event. The Rumble match is very different, main event guys win the rumble, MITB says you are the next superstar and your career is about to take off.

Now as for Swagger I think he will get drafted to Smackdown and win the title, from Jericho or Edge if he takes the title before this happens, before the MITB PPV. I don't think a scenario comes up where he puts the MITB briefcase up in a match against a bigger star, what incentive could they come up with for that?

This was no shocker. Everybody expected either Kofi, Drew, or Christian which clearly means they were going with somebody else. Swagger had a decent push a while back and easily can step back up. He won't be the first to lose. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go over Christian in some sort of feud for the case. That will help him gain credibility. The only way I do see him losing is if he schedules a match at PPV or something like RVD did. Then he could lose.

This is not a bad thing, Swagger should have been Sheamus, he should have won that battle royal Sheamus won and got his shot at Cena. Anyway I wanted Christian to win as much as the next guy, but we're all in denial. Vince is not going to give Christian the belt, but we keep telling ourselves he will.

i think that they will screw swagger like they did to mr ander... i mean mr kennedy a couple years back i think they will fuck him over at mitb ppv to someone like sheamus and he will probably beat edge after edge beats Y2J at mitb....just my thought

The only good thing about swagger winning is that once he cashes in the contract, a whole new storyline will unfold. Now its just a matter of who will he cash it on. He's a heel so he will cash it when some champ is down...

Being a Christian fan, I really wanted him to win this, but I also like Drew, so I figured one of them would take it...I also happen to be a Swagger fan (though my friends always give me crap for it)...and I must say, I did NOT see Swagger as the winner for this one, but I am glad he did

Going back to Shawn Michaels for a second. He wasn't a main event guy when he won his first Royal Rumble. He was being built up, sure. But, he hadn't won the main title. So, the Royal Rumble can also be used to push someone into the main event as well. Steve Austin is another one that comes to mind, off the top of my head.

But, as far as "why would Swagger put the contract up in a match?" Well, the obvious answer is "because a guest host says so." So, if Swagger let's his head get bigger, and pisses off a host, that match could be made. It wouldn't shock me if that's done tomorrow night, even.
