Is Zack Ryder a genius?

Or at the very least, on to something with his youtube vids? I'll be the first to admit I hated the guy and thought he was complete garbage... and it's not his fault. The little bit of TV time he gets he's being put into some goofball scenario and made to look like a complete fool.

But after watching his videos, the guy is extremely entertaining. He's obviously picked up a ton of fans in the past 3 months (myself included) and he's selling merchandise--regardless if he's giving away free autographs. It's not costing the company any money--he's taking his own time to make these videos and sign autographs.

It's clear to me he's a hard worker and trying his hardest to get over with the company, because he's already over with a lot of fans it seems. DO you think we'll see more low carders doing the same thing? I saw a video at the wrestlemania conference... Cena is a big fan of his. It seems to me that the guy will have a bright future eventually... if nothing else from his videos and a Cena rub. Thoughts?

Genius? No. But he is showing that he want to be a star and that's most important. By garnering more and more fans and having signs at shows without even getting tv time shows that he's hustling and he wants it bad. Good for Zack. If WWE were smart, they will push who the fans want to see, and that's the guy who takes care, and spikes his hair.

He's not a genius, he's just dedicated.
He knows he has fans and he knows he can make more fans but the WWE refuses to push him. John cena hasn't been the only one to acknowledge Zack Ryder either.

Love the Zack Pack sign in the Extreme Rules front row too lol.

Hard work, dedication, and passion is what caught the eye of Vince in regards to Cena and Miz (both of whom Vince didn't like).

All he needs is to gain some more size, and get at least one member of creative to back him and he'll be a star.

All of Ryders videos are run by WWE b4 they are posted. WWE wouldn't let him get away with everything he is saying and doing and let people like Miz, HHH and Cena mention his show and talk about him if all of his YouTube videos where not ok'ed by them. For someone they are not using on TV Ryder sure gets away with saying a lot about WWE and their creative team as far as his career goes, yet they let him get away with it? Ya, that doesn't sound like the WWE. Everyone knows by now like 80% of the WWE is about backstage politics, if he was really going behind WWE and making these videos he would be fired by now.

I think what Ryder is doing is great.

He's not relying on WWE to get him out there, he's reaching out to the fans and growing his fan base.

It's only a matter of time until they take notice and realize all the talent this kid has.

I don't think for a second that WWE isn't in on this. Maybe not at first, but they're definitely on board now. I think they're purposely fueling the fire by confiscating signs.

Zack is doing a great thing, he is getting over with the fans and is obviously getting a true "Zack Pack" together. Zack is showing true hard work and dedication to trying to entertain people.

Zack has a great look and image. If he can get the WWE creative on his side he can easily get over with the fans due to his effort on earning them.

I won't say that he's a genius, but if he's lucky- it will save his career. One of the biggest reasons Miz & Morrison got over was their internet show The Dirt Sheet. It was WWE sponsored, but none the less, it's what got them over. Ryder knows that, and he's trying to use the internet to his advantage. The good news, is that it looks like it's working. Whether or not it will save him from being future endeavored, no one knows yet, but he's certainly making the right move.

he looks a genius because of the sad fact that alot of WWE talent has no personality or charisma. so when he takes some initiative and does a good fun comedic show on the internet it makes him look vastly more intelligent than other no tv time superstars.

its probably saved his job to be honest, i saw more woo woo woo related signs than i did for pretty much any other guy at the ppv last night, if they put him out on raw even if its just to job to someone he will get a pop tomorrow night and WWE will have to start to push him from non existent to lower card and see how it goes, they certainly cant lose anything from trying it especially as his merc sales have gone through the roof the last 2 months

He is definitely on to something.

I know that Zach has had a growing fan base and had been on the rise in the eyes of the IWC, but I never really saw much of an appeal.

My opinion has changed some after seeing these videos. The guy is pretty damn funny, and not in the Santino way. I could take him seriously and still be able to laugh with his humor. I would rather see him as US Champion than Kofi or IC champion rather than Wade.

*Side note* I almost fell out of my computer chair when he snuck up on his dad & it looked like he was beating off, only to discover that he was doing the shake weight.

I think he made a very good move on expanding to youtube to get fans. Now, there is at least a couple signs regerding zach ryder in every show and pay per view. It is kind of like him enlisting people to petition for his push. If WWE does not push him, then alot of people are going to be ticked off about it and WWE will lose viewers and ultimately money.

Genius? depends on what you compare him too. i love his vids and his work but hes to gimmicky in ring but he still rocks! WWE IS IN ON IT ALL!!

At first I thought he was a joke and will only have a little bit of time left in the WWE before he gets kicked from the company. But as time progresses I'm starting to like him more and more, I think he is funny + talented in the ring also he has great skills on the mic. A lot of the WWE fans want Zack to be pushed but the creative team are just leaving him on superstars, on the lower card. I think Zack knows exactly what he is doing and soon he might be pushed (fingers crossed)!

[NOTE: IF THIS THREAD HAS BEEN DONE, I SINCERLEY APOLIGISE]

Ok, so as we know, the WWE tell their superstars to try and market themselves and what Zack has done is something that connects with the fans, by making his own videos, posting them on Youtube and getting us to audition for his BOTW.

Now with all of this & the fans that he has got and is getting, should WWE capitalize on this and turn him babyface, set him on that US title and make him the top babyface for the mid card division on RAW and the entire WWE? and rarely have him in the main event matches with the main eventers?

Your thoughts?

Ryder is definitely entertaining. The WWE NEEDS to turn him face or turn him into a real heel on RAW. For him to be a heel again, he deserves a great push. I would prefer him as a face. His music, his look, he has "it". This guy is severely under utilized and should be used correctly. I do have to say that he has come a long way. From edgehead to ECW to Raw to Superstars to youtube, the IWC will always love this guy.

I love Ryder and I hope he does some big things in WWE, but not all WWE fans are internet fans.

On the other hand there are lots of Ryder signs at Raw, and I read that WWE is taking notice and wants to push him, so who knows. I'm thinking maybe a tag title run to get him and Hawkins exposure as heels, and then they split and Ryder goes over as a face.

The push is actually really simple and has already been set up by the short segments Ryder has had on RAW over the past few weeks.

There aren't very many faces on RAW right now. In one of the typical "throw-all-the-top-guys-in-a-tag-match" main events of RAW, have one of the feuds escalate into a backstage attack. For instance, a match is set up off the top with Cena and Mysterio taking on Punk and R-Truth. Truth goes nuts backstage and destroys Mysterio, taking him out of the match.

Cena needs a new partner. No one else is around. Cena smiles wryly at the camera during his backstage interview about who his replacement will be. Match time, Cena comes out and Ryder comes out as his partner.

Cena and Ryder go over in the match, Ryder gets a great rub off Cena and becomes almost like his "little brother". It's a win-win. IWC likes it and gets off Cena's back a little for helping put over one of their guys, and Ryder gets his mid level push with Cena's help.

i think the best point you make whereas others are different is that you said push him to top midcard, where i think he should be. having him in the main event would be ridiculous

zack ryder is very over with the fans, and what really disapointed me is when i read that at over the limit, wwe took away zack ryder sighns from fans. i love zack ryder, he makes me laugh, he has a great gimmick, all u need to do is put him on a program on raw, and the fans will be happy.

what i think wwe should do is have zack ryder and curt hawkins reunite, and let them be a comedy and wrestling tag team, like how edge and christian was, they were hilarious, but when it came to a wrestling match, they WRESTLED

AND ALSO THE JOHN CENA RUB IS ALSO A GREAT WAY BUT EVENTUALLY HES GONNA FALL OFF, JUST ASK EVAN BOURNE

The problem with that, LegendKiller716, is that no one cares about Hawkins. He'd be better off coming out and saving someone like Cena from Nexus and tagging with him a few times to get a rub that way.

Ryder has the look , and the following now all the need is the have him the voice of the internet , Ryder can work it he's got the talent and a theme music that screams anti hero in most American minds cause ryder the "voice of alternate radio" possible micheal cole line

AND ALSO THE JOHN CENA RUB IS ALSO A GREAT WAY BUT EVENTUALLY HES GONNA FALL OFF, JUST ASK EVAN BOURNE

Bourne fell off because he got hurt, but probably eventually would have fallen off because he has no mic skills and thus no way to ride the rub from Cena.

Not a problem for Ryder. All he needs is an opportunity to win over the fans with his character, and the easiest way to get him there is to give him a little more time with the backstage Cena segments, then drop him in a tag match with Cena. His goofy character will appeal to Cena's fanbase, and his comedy will appeal to the older audience.

It's basically the same way Santino got over. Once they gave the guy a little push, he won the crowd over with his goofiness and gained a big following. If they had Santino become a little more serious about his actual wrestling, like he was when he was on his "longest reigning IC champ" run with the Honk-o-meter, he'd be over and a great mid-carder. Ryder is in the same exact boat.

I'm pretty sure True Long Island Story is moving to WWE.com now, so that right there is a pretty decent step towards them warming up to him........however it is probably going to get him a whole lot less exposure and lose some steam.

It's pretty obvious the guy can wrestle, he is no slouch, he has amazing charisma.........i don't see why WWE wouldn't just run with it at this point. First things first though, he needs to turn face or at least become a silly based heel. They also need to keep it in check so that he doesn't get too outlandish and become a huge joke like Santino.
