High school ends at around 18, yes, but then there's college which last about four years for the Bachelor's degree, and more for other degrees.

Most Americans graduate from HS at 18, after that some choose to continue their schooling & go to college. Hence you often hear people over 18 stating they're going to school, or back to school, etc.

What sucks though is she is in Oregon going to School and we won't be able to be together until she's done.

Except I've been married for four and a half years now, and we've been preparing for the baby since Summer. Of course I'm excited and optimistic, she melts my heart every time I see her. She's my child.

Congrats Milenko, I truly hope this works out for you. Do I think it's a wise move? No. But we've all done some things that aren't necessarily wise, and some of those work out from time to time. I hope this does for you.

Yeah, the feeling I get from most people is that you think being engaged automatically means that you're going to get married right away. In my mind, being engaged to someone is just a signal of intent that you are hoping to marry that person and intend to. There is not time limit on an engagement, as we all know.

Being engaged, for the most part, is fucking redundant. It's just another label to put on a relationship. Whether they say they are engaged or not, there is nothing that actually changes until you're married.

So more power to you, Millie. I hope that she's everything that you hope she is.
