When you made this thread and gave us the circumstances of your "engagement", what did you expect? The "kick in the ass" you speak of should be in regards to reevaluating your situation and be absolutely sure that this is something you want to get yourself into. Nobody wants to see you get hurt or make a major life decision such as this that could potentially ruin your life beyond repair. There's a lot of good advice in this thread that you should really be taking into consideration. You don't seem to be thinking clearly about this whole situation.

You should also discuss this situation with someone in your personal life, whether it be a relative, friend, or even someone like whatever a priest would be for your religion, just to talk things over with another person to make sure this is really something you want to enter in to.

Despite the joking around, I really do wish you all the best and good luck. Just please talk this out with someone in your personal life.

Congratulations man. I can only imagine how happy you must be feeling. Word of caution however, comments already made in this thread do have sense behind them. If you both are happy with the arrangement, then more power to you. But just be wary, it seems a bit rushed, possibly for the wrong reasons and just looks like it's going to go wrong. I hope everyone is wrong and it works out for you. Just be aware of what could go wrong.
