I thought it was a stupid idea when The Giant did it in WCW, when Jeff Hardy did it a few months ago, and this is no different. Defending this and bashing what happened with Hardy doesn't make much sense.

They're both the same situation. Heels smoking, both of whom had large contingents of younger fans when they smoked. I don't think it's a big deal in either situation. In the Hardy situation it seemed a bit unnecessary, but it did advance his character in a way, so it made sense. R-Truth used it to turn heel in what I thought was a pretty cool segment and way to do it. They're heels, you're not really supposed to emulate them, and in both situations the parents should be responsible enough to tell their children that smoking is not a healthy thing to do. Showing some guy smoking isn't exactly saying HEY GUYS SMOKE BECAUSE IT'S GREAT, SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES, SMOOOKE
