the fact that universities can email you. Why would they send that stuff without being sincere? I know why, but it's still annoying. Half of the places are ******ed if they think I'm going there and a few of them probably just want me to apply so they can reject me and show how selective they are. The only legit ones so far(in my opinion) weren't even for college. They were for a summer courses at Brown and Johns Hopkins. Even that is still more of a money make for them than anything else. Gaaaah

The walls of the future are closing in around me. I realize noe that I rwally should have strived for a higher gpa in fresh/soph year.

yeah, that also fucked me up. Going into my Jr year i had 1.7 GPA. That sucked man, but then the next 8 quarters I didn't get a GPA lower than a 3.5. Which freaking owned, I got accepted into some good schools around the area, but i messed up, missed a deadline, ended up spending a semester at community college before going to a Tech school. Biggest mistake of my life. I am set to graduate next March, where i will make my way to a good Criminal Justice school that focuses on Cyber Crime, and Crime scene investigation.

I want to go to either NYU or USC for their film programs, but to secure it I'll probably need to pull my gpa up to about a 4. In my private school I slacked off a lot. Now that I'm in public school I got my ass in gear and should pull it off.

GPA here works like this
An A is worth 4 points
B is worth 3
C is worth 2.
D is worth 1
E is worth 0.

Anyways, in High School you usually have your 8 classes, 9 total, but the one is your lunch. So say i had 4 A's 2 C's 2 B's. Which is a total of 26 points. So 26 divide by 8 is 3.25.

GPA is determined by taking the average grade of each class at the end of the year, giving each of those grades a point value depending on the grade and the difficulty of the class. These numbers are averaged to find your gpa. It goes between about 0.5ish and 5.3ish. Getting a 5.3 would mean getting a 97 in a college level course.

Oh ok. I can't believe they sum it over four years though. out of order. Here, you can try for about a month and finish school on top.

You know what sucks? When you're getting emails from like the College of William or Mary or some shit and you tell your friends who started taking SAT prep when they were still in the womb and they respond with, "oh yeah, I'm getting those emails too, except they're from Brown and Princeton. Yeah, totally sucks."

Whatever.

It's what I did. You do three A-levels and get a grade for each, and I literally learned chemistry in my room the day before the exam for an A.

If you are implying that this school sucks, then you can have a big fuck you from yours truly, as this is my alma mater.

I think that they're just spread out emails. I really don't think that Columbia and CalTech are that interested.

I still don't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to go to an Ivy League school for an undergraduate education, unless your parents were extremely rich and could afford anything in the world. The education you get will not be better than the one you can get at a good public institution. However, a doctoral or professional degree from an Ive League institution is a whole different story.

Yes he did. He spoke at Commencement this past year.

doesn't mean he graduated form there :suspic: He also spoke at Latrobes graduation this past year. Boy, he was a busy man, spoke at two commencements, and won the Steelers a sixth Super Bowl... Man is my new hero.
