How Would You Book A MITB Cash-In?

I think the post beat down cash in works great for heels, like Edge. I like the idea of Punk taking the high road and using his MITB at a PPV in a match with some build up. Maybe at Night of Champions or The Great American Bash. Part of the reason Punk didn't get over before was there was no storyline for his title win. He won the title and was pushed into a fued. I say have him have a lengthy fued for the title. Have him win his MITB Match and then win the rematch. But we are going to need a heel champion for that. Punk should go over to SD! and fued with Edge (Who should win at Backlash)

What I'd like to see is maybe put Punk into a program with a major heel, maybe Jericho. Then once they have a PPV match Jericho wins the title at the next PPV. When he wins Punk's music hits and he appears at the top of the entrance ramp. He holds up the briefcase and points to Jericho, and thats how the PPV ends. Then for the next month Punk plays mind games with Jericho, like playing his music after a Jericho match, or during it, but not actually appearing. Have Punk really push Jericho to the edge, with Jericho being so paranoid to the point that he demands Punk challenge him for the title. Once Jericho does we see a video package similar to the ones Jericho used for hiis debut in 1999 and his return in 2007, with a countdown to the next PPV. I know it takes away the element of surprise from the MITB cash-in, but they've done that two years running, and I think they really need to change it up

i would have mr. kennedy beat punk for the case upon his return. he said he would use the title match at wrestlemania when he first won it so have him repeat this statement. have him enter the royal rumble and win it (the guy has been on the cusp of the main event for so long he could solidify his status before this with big programs as a heel e.g. against punk (not exactly high profile i know but it would be needed to swap poseesion of the case), against shawn michaels, triple h, john cena and the like. after he wins the rumble he says that now he is going for the title at wrestlemania he no longer needs the case but to prevent anyone from stealing his belt after he wins the title at mania he's going to keep hold of it and let it expire. he loses at mania against the champion (not that i want it to be him but it'll in likelyhood be cena). the champion retains after a brutal match and as he is celebrating kennedy knocks him out with the case and cashes it in to win the title. this could all happen as the closing pyro's are going off and then he would celebrate to close the show.
Thoughts???:headscratch:

Ok, so first off let me say that I was not happy at all with Punk winning the MitB match again. I have nothing against Punk, but to me, MitB is the new King of the Ring, and there is no point to having someone repeat. If they didn't make it with their first one, give someone else a chance. I think they should have gone with MVP or Christian.

But back to the topic, here's how I would do it.

Cena goes over Edge at Backlash in their Last Man Standing match by getting up at the refs 9 count, and right after the match Punk runs down to the ring with the case and a ref. But instead of cashing in, he just stares at a beaten up Cena and tells him he could have had him. Later that night, after the 6 man tag match (in which HHH retains) Punk again comes down to the ring, and again doesn't cash in and just stares down HHH.

This goes on for a few months, where every so often, when the champ is hurt, you see Punk watching from the top of the ramp, or as their tag partner or guest commentator. After a while of this, he ends up doing an interview with Lawler. Lawler asks him why he hasn't cashed in with all the opportunities he's had and Punk says that the time just wasn't right and he wants everything to be perfect.

Fast forward to the Royal Rumble where Punk makes it to the last 3 or 4 guys and get eliminated, and appears to be injured on the outside of the ring. Bring out the paramedics and the stretcher. The next night on Raw it's announced that Punk is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Lawler and Cole speculate that Punk wasted his MitB chance by waiting too long. No other mention of him is made after that.

At WM26, you have Cena as champ against the Undertaker (Undertaker wins), and Edge (now a face) against Orton, with Orton going over as the new champ. As soon as he wins, Punk's music hits and everyone goes "wow, that's original". Only Punk doesn't come down, the WM26 MitB winner, Christian does. Christian beats down Orton, with help from his old friend Edge, but doesn't get a chance to cash in the briefcase before Legacy comes down to make the save. As Edge and Christian brawl with Legacy on the outside, Punks music hits again and he runs down, cashes in and wins the title from Orton, finally getting his revenge from the Orton punt that cost him his title a year and a half before.

I think the best thing woud be for CM to work his way up to becoming #1 contender for a title, fight for the title and win by disqualification or count out, not be satisfied by the victory since he can't get the title that way and declare that he is cashing in at that very moment. CM wins the title and looks like a credible champion.

Another way to go would be to have HHH & Orton fight for the title, HHH regains and out comes CM to cash-in. During the match Orton interferes costing CM the match and making him the only superstar ever to not win WWE gold after cashing-in mitb. I like CM but c'mon...does mitb have to have a long streak like the Undertaker's? WWE is so full of predictability that this might be a refreshing change of pace.

I think the problem is, everyone expects the MITB winner to cash in at Wrestlemania, or the following one. If Kennedy hadn't been injured, I would have loved to see it happen. But I very much doubt cashing in the same night actually happen!

Now this situation would work perfectly for someone like Edge. Just does his feuds and what not, no-one considers the title picture for him. It gets to a PPV where a big feud for the title is reaching like say a Hell in a Cell match. They're in the middle of the match, both guys laid out from a beat down and highly fatiqued. You hear MITB Winner's music play, only to find out he was under the ring or disguised as a camera man. He gets in the ring, takes out the only guy standing, pins the one who's flat out, wins right there. Enters a feud with the guy who felt screwed out (the one-not pinned).

The other idea is that it's done in a Ladder/TLC match. One guy is flat out, the other is doing his 20 year climb, out comes MITB winner, pushes the ladder through the whole 4 tables routine, climbs the ladder gets the belt. You always expect interference from outside, just not someone who could actually take the title! Would have some irony that he climbed two literally ladders to get to the top!

Pay attention. This could get complicated.

OK. Step one. The person wins the Money in the Bank match. Keeping up so far? I hope so.

Step two. Person has a feud over the briefcase with someone else. Let's say Christian. He puts it on the line in a one-on-one ladder match and wins.

Step three. He gets dominated by midcarders throughout the year, making him look totally inferior.

Step four. He cashes it in during the WrestleMania main event after that year's winner does (let's say Christian) and loses. They have a proper twenty minute match and everything. Shock value is immense.

Heres my idea involving Money In The Bank, i think its pretty fucking sweet.

CM Punk currently holds the briefcase, he begins to win some matches and is building momentum in the midcard.

BUT THEN, he is mysteriously taken out by a masked man and his MITB briefcase and contract is stolen.

CM Punk then goes on a mission to try and find out who took him out and stole his MITB contract. Eventually, of coursse, the mystery man would reveal himself and sign the contract to cash in and become world champion.

This would work well because not only do you have the shock value based on when the MITB is cashed in, you aslo have additional shock value based on who is cashing it in. So many possibilities stem from this extremely simplistic angle.

This would obviously set up a feud between CM Punk and the guy who attacked him.

Have CM Punk hold the case alll year and when it comes to WM 26 everyone will know that he has to cash it in that night.
The WWE Championship Match say Orton vs Kennedy they fight and no Punk so now everyone knows he has 2 cash it in during or after the last match of the night.
So now its the WHC match Cena vs HHH they have one of the best Mania matches of all time but in the back of everyones mind they know MITB has to be cashed in that night.
The match ends still no Punk the champ celebrates he is leaving and as he is at the end of the entrance ramp you hear CM Punks music. Everyone cheers Cena turns around to face the screens then you see Punk sliding out from under the ring with a steel chair. Punk runs up attacks Cena and drags him to the ring. Have Punk do his finisher. Cena kicks out Punk goes for it again hits it Punk wins. Cena comes round whilst Punk is celebrating. Turns heel and destroys him. He then leaves him for dead in the middle of the ring. Then Edge's music hits and he comes down and cashes in his MITB that he won that night. How awesome would that be.

How about this? Have a mini fued between a very popular ECW champion ( much like Punk last year) and a heel world heavyweight champion (preferably Edge). Than, like last year, have the champion screw the guy out of the ECW championship, setting up a rivalry between the two. Every time these two face off, whether in a single or tag team match, the champion pins the former ECW champion. Than, have the former champion qualify for the MITB match. At wrestlemania, have him win the MITB ladder match. Meanwhile, the champion is in a grueling feud with the top face of the company (maybe Cena?), they have a half-hour match at wrestlemania, which ends when the champion screws his way to victory. Than, the champion gets on the mic, stating that he is the most dominant superstar in the WWE, and that this guy couldn't beat him (the contender), nobody can. Just than, the MITB winner's music hits, and he comes to the ring. Much like Hogan did at WM IX, he asks the contender for permission, they have a three-minute match, that sees the MITB winner finally become the champion at wrestlemania. This could lead to a huge storyline where the former champion would state that he couldn't be beaten if he were a 100%, and that he doesn't deserve it.

I'm still waiting for them to dare to have one cash it in the very night they won it. This year would have been a perfect example, Triple H and Orton on a regular PPV would have been a good match, but for wrestlemania it didn't cut it, and with the crowd so amped for Taker/HBK they just couldn't get into it. Imagine if Punk had come out, given Triple H the GTS and walked away with the title.

CM Punk is the perfect guy to hold that case because he's a total wild-card. His character is one that holds no favourites, he would have no problems fighting Triple H, he's cunning and crafty and just wants to be the best. He could be a neutral in Orton and Triple H's war, or he could take the belt in a different direction and defend it against others while Triple H and Orton feud. I mean theirs is a personal rivalry anyway, they dont NEED the belt.

Another option is the overlooked rub that a near-miss can give. CM Punk is never considered in the title chase unless it's Money In The Bank or the Elimination Chamber or anything like that. He isn't buried, if you think about it he's somewhat dominant in the mid-card, Vince likes him, he isn't going anywhere.

So the Money in the Bank to him is a chance at a one on one main event title match on PPV. I know WWE kick the hell out of ROH in terms of success but this is something they should learn from them. Not EVERYTHING has to be a storyline, back in the day people used to earn number one contendership, have a great match and then move on, nowadays you get the same main event 3 PPVs running and it gets stale. It would be nice to give some of the upper-mid card guys a shot from time to time.

So if Punk just came out on Raw the night after a successful title defence on PPV and put the champ on notice and said I'm gonna challenge you and walked away that'd be a nice shock. Then the champ would bury him in promos, he'd beat someone perceived to be better than him, perhaps pin the champ in a tag match, make people believe. Then give them a nice long match, 20, 25 minutes and have him kick out of everything, hit all his moves, but just come up short. That sorta thing can make a career.

Think back to Jeff Hardy's ladder match against Taker. People remember the moment Taker broke character and raised Jeff's hand. Think back to when Austin took on Bret Hart in a submission match. REALLY think about it. Austin had no chance. But he took an absolute beating and would not die. He didn't win but a star was made. Look at Tyler Black in ROH. He went from an athletic tag specialist to the next future star because ROH chose to make him look impossibly good against Nigel McGuinness.

Give Punk a long match against Orton or Triple H or even Cena, have him lose, people will respect him, it will be credible when he is mentioned in the title hunt in the future AND it means we aren't guaranteed a new champion when someone wins Money in the Bank.

1st off i would the MITB winner not cash in until the next WM and then have that years MITB winner and the las years winner to coincidentally challenge the same champion at the same time and set up a triple threat match. the only person with a decent chance of winnin wuld be the las years winner cuz this years wuld have jus competed in MITB and the champ jus went thru a gruelin match but everyone in the match gives it their all so its not a crap match. this years MITB winner ends up winnin the match but 4 sum reason this years royal rumble didnt choose who he wanted to face at the rumble (prob due to a kayfabe injury jus b4 the announcement). he makes a surprise return to challenge the MITB winner/new champ and they have another excellent match and the new champ retains only 2 get destroyed by the old champ and the old MITB winner b4 being saved by the RR winner which starts a new tag team with the champ and the RR winner who keeps beggin 4 a title shot cuz he keeps savin the champ 4rm losin it or gettin him outta trouble.

How about this one... There a few twists and turns here so please bare with me.

Punk has the MITB and then goes on to win the Rumble next year. By this time Punk has already been feuding with Orton (champion by this time) for a couple of months, only Punk has become the heel. The legacy betraying Orton to join Punk's team and Punk playing the genius Raven-like heel he portrayed in ROH, only thsi time with a couple of minions to go with. For those unaware, Punk is probably the best promo guy in the WWE alongside HBK, Edge and Christian - a talent that Vince has yet to tap into. Punk turning heel doesn't effect Orton's status as he will remain a heel.

After a heel CM Punk wins the Rumble he spends the next couple of months feuding with Orton, while Orton is being challenged for his title at No Way Out by a babyface Jeff Hardy. No Way Out comes and goes with Orton retaining while Jeff Hardy keeps pledging to be added to the Wrestlemania match , even go so far as attacking Orton and threatening to ruin the Wrestlemania main event if he doesn't get added to the match.

Vince McMahon sick of the constant attacks and threats to ruin his night of nights offers this ultimatum to Jeff Hardy. The last go home Raw before Mania he has Orton mainevent Raw in a one on one non-title match with Jeff Hardy. If Hardy can pin the champion he will prove that he deserves a chance at the title and will thus be added to the Mania match. He loses. Right after, CM Punk comes out and cashes in to win the title - on the last Raw before Mania. The beatdown is brutal with Orton leaving in an ambulance and leaving the mainevent at Mania up in the air. Vince spends all of Smackdown that week looking for a solution and says that he can't figure it out.

Wrestlemania time. First match of the night is MITB. Jeff Hardy was added to the match during the SD broadcast and he wins. We still have no mainevent, with a heel Punk as champ and Orton still hospitalized. CM Punk heads to the ring at the end of the night to gloat about his own brilliance and about screwing over Vince and Orton and the WWE audience by not having an opponent at the grandaddy of them all. Then a beat-up Jeff Hardy cashes in his shot against a completely fresh Punk (turn of the tables). Jeff Hardy heads to the ring and gets his ass wooped by Punk before staging a late comeback after kicking out of about 10 pinfall attempts from Punk (to put Jeff over as a fighter and a survivor) and wins the title.

2 new superstars get MADE in a major way!!

Sorry, it's gonna be more than a year before Punk is worth a main event. As of now, Punk is terrible and getting worse...even more boring. He was given money in the bank and didn't even have to contribute to the match. I don't know if he's giving Vince hand jobs or what but he does not deserve money in the bank, a title shot, or even a spot on raw. Put him back on ECW and let him be a heel there, I'm just so sick of seeing his boring "same old crap" in ring ability. Also, his promos are nothing special...he has no character. That's neat that he has the whole straight-edge homo thing but it doesn't matter, even that has lost it's distinction. Money in the Bank should be exciting and the winner should be someone who gives us that excitement, not a wanna-be that Vince wants to push. Benjamin, Morrison, Kofi, Bourne, Mysterio (as long as he gets hurt during it), Maybe R Truth (who knows, should at least be a good filler), a big guy (you choose) and one more mid/big name.

Since Punk has the briefcase this is a very easy question.

Orton beats four other guys in the main event Scrambles match at Unforgiven. He's had a solid five month title reign. Punk comes out afterwards, punts Orton, hits the GTS and wins the title.

Now that's karma.

iwouldent have even had cm punk win..i wanted christian 2 win..but what they should do 2 get more rating is this
have christain and cm punk fight 4 the mitb title shot at backlash and who ever wins tht match gets the briefcase..
then have edge beat cena at backlash 4 the title..then have christian cash in the mitb title shot at judgement day
so it would be christian vs edge
thts how all the fans want it

I like the title switch during the main event Scramble, but I was thinking a bit different.

Cena defends during the main event scramble. During the course of the match, a mid card heel becomes champ, ie Morrison, and is 2 minutes away from his first World Championship. The ring is cleared and Morrison is basically playing it safe. Punk's music hits and he comes running out. Brief exchange between Punk and Morrison ends with GTS. 1-2-3, Punk wins with 15 seconds left in the match. Suddenly Edge spears Punk. 1-2-3 just as time expires. Punk cashes in MITB however Edge is the ultimate opportunists and takes advantage of Punk's celebration that was 15 seconds too early.

Maybe not the best booking job, but hey beats another HHH reign!!!!!!!!!!!

The only real way i can see Punk taking a 'moral highground' victory to cash in his money in the bank brefcase, would be to have him challenge Randy Orton (who got screwed big time at WM25 and should win at Backlash). We need to remember that Punk lost his world heavy weight title because of Randy Orton and i think Punk would love some revenge.

I read every entry and think that these two are the best. The first one is pretty much what I had in mind.

i have another idea. we have punk trying to wait until next mania to cash in his case. So it comes to Feb/Mar and we have MiTB qualifying matches. So we have someone qualify..let's say Kennedy (It doesn't have to be him, just using him for the example) So, at this time he is heel and on Raw. He convinces whoever is GM at the time to give him a shot at Punk's case (GM has to be heel, which is why they help Kennedy). He wins the match and gets Punk's case. Now we come to WM, Kennedy wins MiTB and now has two cases. After the WWE title match ends in a long brutal match Kennedy comes down and hits his finisher on the winner of the match and cashes in case#1 to take the WWE title. Now we come to the World title match. Again it is a long brutal match possibly the annual three way that they seem to like. After the match again Kennedy comes down and hits his finisher on the winner and cashes in case#2 to take the world title. And by the end of the night you have the NEW WWE UNDISPUTED CHAMPION....MRRRRRRRRRRR. KENNEDY!(or anyone who you put in this place)

CM PUNK still has money in the bank heading into the Royal Rumble. He wins the Royal Rumble, and now must headline Wrestlemania. But at No Way Out, after a brutal Elimination Chamber that Edge wins. CM Punk takes the briefcase and cashes it in (same way Edge won a few years ago). CM Punk then headlines Wrestlemania against WWE Champion Randy Orton for the UNDISPUTED CHAMPION. Randy Orton walks out champ.

Ok, picture this. its money in the bank 2010, and cody rodes wins it. then taker wins the title agents john cena in the main event. he cellebrates for 5 minutes with the title even with the ending pyro. just when u see the copyrights reserved thing on the bottom left and JR screms "thank you for joining us for wrestlemania!" you begin to hear codys new song (idk what it could be, maybe come to life by alterbridge idk) then JR begs for the screen not to got black as the PPV is begining to end. you have a good 5 minutes of wrestleing when cody eventally get the better of taker with a DDT ( i hope its not his finisher in the future) then you hear 1........2..........the ref looks a cody in disgust as cody is begging for a three. the ref reluctly give a really long delayed 3 count. after that, cody celebrates and the ref starts to cry as he dosnt even raise codys hand. he walks back up the ramp crying more. cody is your champ.
this could give a interesting storyline, put over a young tilent that needs it, and have a segment on the next raw that fetures the ref saying i quit.

Oh yeah top it!

I love how people think Punk's keeping the briefcase. It's not happening. He won with it last year, and he's holding on to it temporarily. Simple as that.

I've mentioned the idea already, but I'll go into further detail on how MATT FREAKIN' HARDY should and will win the MITB and take the case off of Punk...

1) The draft takes place. Punk is drafted to Smackdown...OR Matt's drafted to Raw. Either way, got to make them be on the same brand.

2) Next, Punk comes out...cuts a promo on how he's thrilled to have the case back after how Orton screwed him out of his WHT last year and he rants on how payback's a bitch, blah blah blah...then

3) OH YEAAAAAHHHH! Matt's music plays, interrupting Punk. Hardy's standing on the stage...talking about how HIS match was the highlight of WM 25, NOT his MITB WIN, not the Undertaker's streak, and NOT CENA AND HHH! He says the only thing missing from Matt Hardy's trophy case, is a world title. And he goes on how he would have won MITB if he wasn't beating his brother Jeff to pieces. He then goes on how he knows Punk cashed his in last year and that he doesn't even need the case...

4) Punk goes on to say that this case guarantees me a shot at the title...I'm at the top of the line as long as I have this thing.

5) Matt then says he'd love nothing more than a fair shot at the Briefcase at Backlash...Punk would accept.

6) Matt beats Punk for the case...then the next time he's on either show he's drafted to, he would go on about his hot streak...and how he's not doing anything with this until WM 26.

Then you could go on with him defending it like a title for the next few months...then he actually DOES wait to after the Royal Rumble to challenge the champion at WM 26! Then, he wins the belt, in all his glory.
