How should Jericho be booked if he returns for WM30?

We all know this is the time of year when the part-timers begin coming out of the woodwork. On the road to WrestleMania, I'd say there's a 50/50 chance of Chris Jericho returning any time now. So if he will indeed be part of WrestleMania XXX, who do you think his opponent should be?

There are several names I've come up with. Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow, maybe even a heel Kofi Kingston. I also wouldn't rule out he and Christian being a part of a triple threat or fatal 4-way match for the tag team championship. But one name stands out above them all for me. The choice is obvious...

Bad News Barrett. Wade's new gimmick has him obnoxiously reporting "bad news" each and every week, from behind a 20-foot high podium with gavel in hand. This gimmick has quickly caught fire and breathed new life into Barrett's career in my opinion. But he could use a big name to put him over at WrestleMania, if they plan on bringing him back up in the ranks. And it seems that they do. Barrett was their choice to win MITB just a couple of years ago before an injury sidelined him. Jericho has no ego, so who better to give Barrett the rub than him? He did it for Fandango last year. The set up is easy. Jericho upstages one of Barrett's promos and tells him he has some bad news of his own for Barrett: "I'm back, Jack. And after I lock you in the Walls of Jericho at WrestleMania XXX, you will never...eee-eee-eeever be the same...again!" It would also be great to see Jericho at the controls of Barrett's scissor lift, bringing him back to the ground, where he'd then attack him and lock him in the Walls on the Raw stage.

In a pre-show battle royal because WWE have no place for Jericho at the moment.

His last two runs have been a waste of time. Why would WWE want Jericho back? "Uh, because he's the best wrestler ever and he's super -over!". Stop living in 2008, you peon.

If you bring him back you bring him vack after Mania. But personally I'd advise Jericho to take another year or two off. Concentrate on his music or something.

I enjoyed his feuds with Punk and Ziggler. Not the one with Fandango so much. If that makes me a peon to some stranger on the internet though, then great, I think I can live with that.

Probably be easier to answer after EC since even WWE doesn't seem to be sure what to do at WM anymore. Although...

Someone suggested him wrestling Big E and getting his 10th IC title in another topic, that's a idea that I really liked since it gets us a milestone moment (minor one granted), it finally gets Big E a legitimate opponent and Big E looks better if/when he wins it back. It's also a relatively simple concept that doesn't need much TV promo time since I'm sure that'll be eaten up promoting the other big matches.

Other then that it'll be difficult to squeeze him in like many of the other guys.

First of all….Chris Jericho is the first Undisputed WWE World Champion. He is the record holding 9 time Intercontinental Champion. He is the 2008 Slammy Award SuperStar of the Year, the year which also got him feud and match of the year honors. He is the greatest Tag Team Wrestler ever, winning Tag Team Championship Gold with the of Chris Benoit, The Rock, Christian, Edge, and Big Show, all of whom are former WWE / World Champions. He is one half of the 2009 Slammy Award Tag Team of the Year. Chris Jericho is the Best In The World At What He Does!!

Now, I would book Jericho’s return to the WWE at WrestleMania XXX in a Championship Scramble match against Randy Orton, Batista, Big E. Langston and Dean Ambrose for the Undisputed WWE World Intercontinental United States Championship Title Belts.

Realistically, they don’t need him this year. I wouldn’t mind seeing him return, but I also wouldn’t mind him holding off on his return till next year.

Yeah I wouldn't really say WWE needs Jericho a the moment, but if they were going to bring him in here's how I'd try to make the best of it.

I'd probably put him in a feud with Damien Sandow. Sandow isn't doing anything of significance, but he's awesome on the mic and he can work. He'd be a great matchup for Jericho. I'd do an angle where Sandow says he's going to bring some class and sophistication to Monday Night RAW. So he has the first ever live chello concert in the history of RAW. As he begins to play (horribly), Jericho comes out and tells him to please "SHUT THE HELL UP". Sandow starts talking shit and Jericho ends up smashing the chello over his head. Done.

Jericho vs. Sandow at WrestleMania, Jericho puts Sandow over. At least it's something.

Real Americans v. Y2J and Piper - Winner - Y2J and Piper (ft. Hogan)

Piper's Pit featuring Y2J and his return a few weeks before 'Mania. As Y2J gets into the ring, he and Piper shake hands, etc. Then the Real Americans entrance hits. Zeb Coulter comes out as Jack and Caesaro stand on the ramp. Zeb cuts a promo about Y2J and Piper being Canadians, and how Progressive ideology from Canada is perverting American politics. The RA and Zeb start making their way to the ring. Jericho and Piper look at each other as the RA get into the ring, and the two groups start brawling. The faces toss the RA out. The next week on Raw, Jericho cuts a promo on the RA being a bunch of ignorant a-holes, etc. Go Home Raw sees the RA standing over Jericho and Piper. Tag match at 'Mania, Jericho gets a chair shot when the ref is distracted, barely gets the tag to Piper. The RA start squashing Piper, and Piper beckons to the backstage. All of the sudden, "I am a Real American" starts playing. Out comes Hogan, in red and yellow. He makes to the ring, ducks a tag team clothesline, off the ropes, into a double clothesline. Jack and Antonio are lying next to each other in the ring. Hogan does the ear thing to the crowd, does a leg drop onto both RA, and drags Piper over for the pin. Then Y2J, Hogan, Piper all celebrate in the Ring. Hogan promos about what being a "Real American" means, while his Real American music is playing.

If you're gonna use him make it about the IC title or even the US title as well.. I would either have him go for (and win) his 10th IC title in a major Wrestlemania moment or have one of the triple threat both title matches like he had with Benoit and Angle but for the unification. I'd also have him win that... Big E can handle the loss as working with Jericho would be a big step up for him in itself... if they went the unification route, they can have the Shield implosion as a factor in Ambrose's elimination for the match. Either way have Jericho walk out the IC and into a feud with Barrett (sure he's done the IC before too, but not against his pro on NXT)...

Barrett is a great opponent, it would finally give him a Mania spot -that I at least feel - he has earned. Of course you can always book a rematch with Fandango, although its been so long since that match that theres no gaurantee the fans will be into it. With such a weak card I wouldn't risk such poor booking. The only opponent Jericho hasn't faced is Undertaker, but seeing as Taker/Lesnar is set in stone theres no potential for that. Bray Wyatt/Jericho is a fresh feud that the fans would definitely get into, but Cena/Wyatt appears to also be set in stone. I'd say scrap the Triple H/Daniel Bryan match and have heel Jericho come back and belittle Bryan. The two most likely have great in ring chemistry and there are two clear directions you can go: give Bryan the victory, a huge push and a great Wrestlemania moment, have Jericho defeat Bryan, making Jericho the ultimate heel and leaving room for a longer rivalry.

I really dont see any good way to book him atm. Also normally he would of returned by now if he planned to take part in WM. Right now even with punk bailing WWE has more then enough talent then can and need to use at WM without bringing back Y2J. I would say the Summer might be a better time for him to fit in for awhile.

Unfortunately for Jericho, there is no space for him at this years Wrestlemania.

Already have the following matches locked in almost, with the possibility of the superstars rotating around a bit:

Batista vs Orton (WWE Championship)
Undertaker vs Lesnar
HHH vs Bryan
Cena vs Wyatt
Goldust vs Rhodes
Shield break-up match

Even if these all change around a bit, there is already too much to fit into wrestle mania, matches for the IC, US, Tag team & Divas belts may miss out.

I'd bring him back after the shield are over to feud with Ambrose for the US title.

Y2 I dont comment regularly because I know you would destroy me in any of my opinions.... but I do not think you are further away from the trust than what you normally are.

Jericho can out promo and out wrestle the majority of the people in the wwe. He would be the perfect replacement for punk. If the WWE can do it have them admit Punk leave and have him come back resume his best in the world gimmick... throw that into a fued with any member of the shield and things should work well.

In a pre-show battle royal because WWE have no place for Jericho at the moment.

Y2J is the best at what he does. AS King patrick said,9 time IC title holder possibly the greatest tag team partner ever,a 6 time WWE/WHC champion first undisputed WWE Champion ever. With what i dont agree with is people saying his last two runs have been a waste of time.

Jericho is brought in,to help younger talent get over. Thats his whole purpose for being there. He doesn't need another title run,he is paying back the business for all its done for him. I dont see any scenario in which he comes back, the WWE doesn't need him this year for WM!!

If I was to book Jericho at the moment for Wrestlemania there is a few people I have in mind that would be good matches for him and plus they have nothing to do.

1) Jericho vs RVD - would be a great mania match and speaks for itself. Let Jericho get a win for a change between these two veterans

2) Jericho vs Sheamus - they seemed to have good chemistry when they were the last two in the rumble and Jericho could put him over

3) Jericho vs Del Rio - Not a huge fan of Del Rio's character but he's a good worker and they could have a good match. Id put Jericho over here but for the sake of good business Del Rio is full time so he should win.

If the newest rumors come to fruition of Bryan facing Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat and Triple H faces Roman Reigns then I would put Jericho in a feud with Dean Ambrose over the US Title. They could have some great mic work and in ring would be alot of fun to watch. Jericho could be used to help get Ambrose over as a bigger heel and help elevate the secondary title.

If that doesnt occur then I would say Jericho could feud with someone like Sandow in a low mid card feud/curtain jerk match. That or Barrett would be the only heels I can think of on the current roster that would work.

Jericho had a great match with RVD last year on RAW so if he was to come back for Wrestlemania 30 (which I doubt), then with the crowded card I think it would be great to see the two veterans try to steal the show on the grandest stage of them all. Saying that though, I think if Jericho would have returned by now if he was going to be at Wrestlemania. One think I do not want to see when Jericho eventually returns that a lot of you have mentioned is Jericho losing match after match. I know he is great at putting people over but I think he might harm his own legacy a bit in the progress and doesn't one of the greatest wrestlers ever deserve one more run in the main event?

It's Chris Jericho for gods sakes. What the hell are some of you people on? "WWE doesn't need him" my ass...this card is looking like garbage and we just lost Punk. There's plenty of room for him. If I'm going to be screwed out of a decent main event (because of Batista vs Orton OR a triple threat with DB thrown in) then I want all the star power we can get.

Let's not let Jericho in so we can have some other crappy mid carder have a higher spot. No thanks.

I wouldn't mind him against Barrett but personally I'd look to use him to get Orton the hell out of the main event and in a fued with Y2J. Both are like the only Undisputed Champs ever so there's a base to build on. Jericho would make it entertaining and make up for Ortons boring ass on the mic...maybe even poke fun at it too.

Just have DB win the Chamber (goes to main event with a heel Batista), and have Orton come out the next night on Raw to complain about being screwed, and enter Y2J to ask him to please shut the hell up and start going on about his previous accolade of 1st ever Undispited Champ and so on.

I can't imagine where he'd fit on the card and I don't think his inclusion would be necessary.

If he had to be on the card, I'd say during the WM XXX pre-show, have him in the ring hosting The Highlight Reel. He's interviewing some legend like, maybe Hogan, then all of a sudden Piper comes out and says the people don't want to see a Highlight Reel at WrestleMania. They wanna see Piper's Pit. He tosses out the JeriTron and starts questioning Hogan himself. It leads to Piper and Jericho having some sort of verbal argument. Hogan tries to break it up, but gets pushed by Piper. This causes him to Hulk UP and then he slams Piper and then hits a leg drop on Piper just like he did 30 years ago. Then, for cheap pops, Hogan and Jericho pose together in the ring. Then WM XXX starts.

That's all I can think of for him because putting Jericho in a match would be a waste.
