Just WWE has done this with a lot of wrestlers and its costing the wrestlers. I mean like you said very few are a Benoit but I felt Cena when he was the prototype was a really good wrestler and if it were the prototype that was in WWE then fans would say "Wait a minute, he can wrestle". I totally see what you mean with his signature moves. The five moves of doom. I mean it sadens me because Cena is comfrtable on the microphone, he is athletic and powerful. If he was aloud to wrestle the way he can people would be saying he was a worthy champion instead of getting on the "He can't wrestle, doesn't deserve the championship" band wagon. Just has happened with many wrestlers. There gimmick doesn't do there ability any justice. Simon Dean comes to mind. He is a fantastic wrestler. I mean WOW! but yet his gimmick is to drive abouton a stupid "Dean Machine" and the one that gets to me the most, Eugene. Eugene is an absolute technical genuis. Underneath his childish gimmick is a flourish of Bret "The Hitman" Hart. I suppose the only argument you can give WWE is that it would go from Sports Entertainment to plain old Pro Wrestling. If that was the case would we get the mouth watering Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches, Hell in a Cell matches, Elimination Chamber matches etc. The matches that make us sit on the edge of our seats. The Undertaker versus Mankind in a Hell in a Cell. The Hardyz versus The Dudleyz versus Edge and Christian in a tables ladders and chairs. Amongst a host of others!
